Remember those 12 sets we made for the raids? Oh, those are useless.
What about all those raid ornaments too? Useless by proxy.
Right, so what about all those Iron Banner ornaments that we grinded out tirelessly? Na-da.
Y1 Faction sets? Forget about them.
Y1 Faction set ornaments? What do you think this is, a charity?
Every single planetary vendor set in this entire game? Nope.
Eververse sets? Let me stop you right there.
What about those Trials sets and ornaments, people braved a really toxic gamemode to walk out with those. <Moved to Feedback>
Transmog. We need it, something, anything badly. As long as it takes for them to make new sets, it's baffling to let more than half the game's loot be less than.
EDIT: This also isn't just satire, there needs to be tools in-game for players to pair the aesthetics they want with the perks they want.

Don’t forget that -blam!-ing grind we did for the Soltice of heroes armour only to have it in the -blam!-ing vault!

Spoke with the devs on this several times guys, they said get bent. We don't care and are not listening. Just remember to voice your opinions here so we can make your gaming experience better. Unless a lot of you make the same request, then we will delete them from the forums and call it spam. That is all, send us your money...

Don’t forget some vendors sell green tier items.

1 ReplyTo be honest I'm not that bothered as I just love to collect sets as I'm a collector.

23 RepliesEdited by Zepheron: 1/26/2019 1:16:03 PMAccording to wastedondestiny.com, I'm in the top 1% of time played. I've been playing since launch and have bought every expansion and have the annual pass. And I'm tired of Bungie making this game painful to play. I'm talking about Cores for infusion. Not having a transmog type option. No way to pull Y2 armor or weapons from collections. Those are the top issues for me. They are simple quality of life changes that need to change. I'm sick of grinding for cores. I'm sick of not being able to change my armor to something I really loved in Y1, or even have matching pieces. And what's the point of collections if we can't pull anything from them? Right now, you can pull ghost shells with random perks until you find the one you want. Why can't we do this with everything? Make pulling armor and weapons expensive if you want; cores, planetary mats, shards, even tokens. At least that would give me motivation to grind out mats so I can have another shot at a god-roll weapon of my choice. Sometimes it's the little things. I want to play without feeling like I have a chore list. I want to kill things and look good doing it! I want to target that one weapon until I can get the perks I want on it, not play endlessly with the hope that particular weapon will drop with the stats I want. Those odds are astronomical. I'm the very last of my friends and clan that bothers to play. I still like the game, but it feels like Bungie enjoys making playing the game as painful an experience as possible. I was hoping the severing of Activision would free Bungie to do things that were good for the playerbase. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter as Bungie ignores their players now just as much as when Activision was in the picture.

This isn't a friendly reminder, it's a painful one :p I haven't read the other comments yet but I'm thinking of how Spiral Knights would let you disassemble a piece of gear and turn it into an ornament, so you could wear armor with great stats that looks just like your favorite uncommon set. I really like, for example, the Philomath set, but there's no point to wearing it even if I empowered it to max. Considering some Rare gear will drop with DLC marks + perks and higher LL, my suggestion at this point would be to just alter the Empowerment system to let you jack up an armor's rarity alongside its power. Think of how Masterworking adds the Kill Counter, too - at various LL thresholds/Empowerment stages (if you made it like Masterwork so each 'level' threshold added something) you could have the armor gain more Perks, Mod Slots, Shader Slots, etc.

3 RepliesEdited by ULiano_III: 1/25/2019 9:13:01 PMDon't need Transmorg. Just need R3 Button to make the item a Vanity Item. One item of each class. How it works : Item must be in your Players Inventory and not Vault or COLLECTIONS. Click R3 and a V symbol appears over the Item image indicating it is now the Visual Appearance of your Equipped Item or "Vanity" Item. You can do this for Helm, Arms, Chest, Boots and Class Items. All Ornaments associated with Vanity Item apply as well, so if you have that sweet Raid Ornament from Y1 just R3 your Raid Armor and select what Ornament you want on... Bam! You now have your Lunafication Boots equipped but are sporting that sweet Raid Boot Ornament. Why is this still not a thing in a vast majority of games??? All RPGs and Looter Shooters should have this system. Edit: Not to mention you can now visually rock a full set of Exotic Gear (Only in PvE as people would complain in PvP)

I agree 100% with a transmog system. It would add depth while also increasing customizability and enhancing the grind.

I will keep bumping and bumping till Bungie see this!

Definitely a problem. And in a game like this, fashion and perks are half the endgame. But with current limitations on y1 armor, you have to sacrifice perks for fashion or vice versa

6 Replies2 things. 1. The armor sets aren't at all useless. They can't accept mods, which impact the utility, but all the perks on them are still completely useful, and just as good as they used to be. By saying they are totally useless, you are exaggerating in the extreme. Leviathan gear is still better to use in the Leviathan raid than anything in Y2, barring very rare / niche loadouts. 2. If you want to pursue this logically, then 99.9999999~% of armor is useless, because it's not the absolute perfect roll for what you want to do. If you're worried about the mod slot and marginally useful perks (barring the enhanced versions of some), then having Y1 armor is functionally no different than simply having poorly rolled Y2 armor: not as good as it could be. So let's not blow smoke about such a small amount of armor fitting into your definition of useless: almost all of it does that if you want to get to brass tacks. Hopefully, they at least add mod slots to the Y1 stuff for Y2 mods. Random rolls would be nice too. In other news, I'm not holding my breath. D1 taught me that.

2 RepliesI'd say its more like 90% Weapons? 99%

That suggests one in four armour is useful. I think the proportion of useful armour is actually a lot lower.
-
If they just made functions of gear something you collect progression would be better, and it would solve the cosmetic issue as well.

3 RepliesI would love to build a set for PvE, a set for gambit, a set for crucible and a set for raids. But the random drops are pathetic, you can hardly ever get 2 usable perks on a single armor piece. I want to be able to set what I want even if it costs a fortune.

This makes me miss my Faction exotic class item from D1. I was hoping they’d “reward the grind” and let you transfer some stuff over to D2.
