Anyone else want more story about Shaxx?
Can we get more booyaxy shaxxy or what, he's one of the best characters in the franchise and we don't even know what he looks like or what race he is. Just that he's badass.

I want an entire DLC where shaxx fights alongside us. And Saladin would run the crucible for a spell.

7 RepliesHe's neither amusing or of any worth. He is a weakling that needs other guardians to do his fighting. While we and the vanguard leaders fought during the Cabal invasion, he hid with the women and children. He is far from the best character in the game. Dinklebot was a better character than Shaxx is.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 1/20/2019 3:35:26 PMHe’s important to the lore of the city and an all around badass, but being responsible for the Crucible kind of makes him a side character because despite how integrated the Crucible is to the lore of the universe, it is more or less a side thing for most players. I would like to see him involved in a story that we get to play at some point. I don’t really ever play in the Crucible if I can help it, but he’s an awesome character that’s kind of wasted at the moment.

Kind of a nobody character to Bungie. I mean even the Cinematic of us attacking the city he was a nobody just standing there with a crap gun.

We do know what race he is though. He’s Human, unless you mean like Black, White, Asian, etc. How do we know this? Just read the Starting Human Dance. The one with the one handstand flip twirl action.

No, because Bungie can't even get just the traveler story right. We/Bungie killed off the Traveler in The Taken King but somehow a miracle happened and he is in all of us now. Okay...

I'd like to see a Shaxx specific expansion with his own storyline, either that or a novel about him. I had an idea a while back about a game mode where a fireteam lands in a crucible arena and has to secure it in order for crucible use and would still like them to do something like that.

3 RepliesI want more story period. To have to wait at least 12 months for additional story content is ridiculous. The Black Armory was a mess and I assume the other DLC's will be just as bad.

3 RepliesProbably an off-topic comment. I wasn't there in Destiny 1, haven't read any books or comics. Due to these reasons, I have little knowledge on the subject, if any was told priorly. I understand these "expansions" of universes, but there are some problems with them. First, most books I've read (I admit, most of them was based on ADnD) were quite mediocre in terms of writing material. I don't demand every "franchise" book be like best of Terry Pratchett, but quality of some of those was... bad. Second, personally I prefer to see all game-relevant stories told in game. Maybe not in cutscenes and dialogues (they cost resources to make), but in-game books and notes will do fine, if certain amount of talent and effort be put into them. We already have narration mechanism at our hands, so there is no need for "side". Third reason I don't like these "off-spin" books - there are various obstacles in purchasing them, depending on where you currently residing. Seriously, it's 2019, all these books should be available right in same digital store you buying game from, but I digress. Personally, Shaxx's general "banter" you hear, while rummaging though your vault, trying to figure out which one of these buttons isn't crouch... I mean which one of these two nearly similar items is better than the other, is quite irritating, by my opinion. But I can say the same about most other characters, particularly Drifter with his socks, yeoch. Especially given my luck, hearing like three of those messages. However, recently I heard new one, and I found it quite amusing: Shaxx yelled at someone, ordering them to calm down. IMHO there should be more phrases like those. Game may have received darker theme, but we have enough those imposed "pokerface serious cat dramas" elsewhere and some "comic relief" or something more lightening the mood should be there more frequent, I think. As for stories, well, I love stories, I know, it's stupid to play games for stories, but I still do that and generally they deliver. So I don't mind if we'll get more expansion on characters' arcs. As long as they are well developed, of course - I've had enough arcs for the sake of it and they were terrible.
