Fallout 76 fan boys blaming Youtube content creators

LMAO!!! Seriously? If you are blaming content creators for hate directed at Fallout 76, then you have the brains of a freaking garden snail. Fan boys can be the most insecure sad sacks in the gaming world. If you need constant validation of your gaming choices, you need to grow up. Content creators have opinions and they are entitled to them, just like you are entitled to be happy with your full priced half finished broken copy of Fallout 76. If I can give some friendly advice to people.....worry more about what you can control. It's a lesson I learned way too late in life.

  • FO76 definitely deserves criticism but I think at this point it’s like beating a horses skeleton. Many content creators like YongYea however are just using the game for clicks now. This is especially clear with his recent videos. He made a vid about the new Spider-Man suit and connected it to Bethesda and FO76. He didn’t bother to mention the fact that fans have been harassing the devs to get the suit and even threatening them nor did he mention how you can earn atoms through simply playing FO76. Like I said before FO76 definitely deserves criticism but I refuse to watch channels like YongYea and expect fair criticism as he and similar channels all but tell you to directly harass the developers.

      • I mean at this point people should be over this. Hell I'm fed up of talking about it. Blaming the likes of both YongYea and The Quartering isn't going to fix anything. Bethesda are front and centre at fault here. The negative comes from Bethesda releasing such an awful product and then treating their fan-base like garbage. At the end of the day they're youtubers / journalists - they'll talk about what people want them to talk about. When Bethesda f--k up to this degree of course people will be all over it. It's called gaming media. It's one of the few times where i'll actually defend Kotaku. It makes me laugh when they point out YongYea - he's like one of the most harmless gaming commentators out there.

        • Jesus Christ the cesspool keeps getting worse. And here I thought D2 launch was bad. No scratch that, here I though Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) launch was bad!

        • I wonder what their next target will be... modders have improved/fixed the game a bit so I guess them. But seriously do these people really expect any negative news to be swept under the rug and devs/publishers to be blindly worshipped. Another thing is this apparent expectation for Newstubers to check with each other before posting a story so as not to have similar content. If they love the game then great for them. At least realize/don't downplay that there are issues, that not everyone likes the game to the same extent and that with the state of the game as well as the way Bethesda have been acting there is concern for future games.

        • I'm more worried that the constant bashing of fallout 76 is just pretty much free advertising. Make a shit game people rant about it, then every improvement they make gets advertised aswell. Yeah they fix their game eventually, but it almost encourages studios to not give a shit about the quality of the game on launch. Cause you know eventually it will all be water under the bridge and all the hate turns into praise at how well they turned it around.

          • I don't mind YouTubers and their opinions. That said I think social media definitely plays more of a role now than it did 10-20 years ago and I don't think that's deniable. I think had games like say a Halo 2 as just one example had today's social media around, we'd see some more bad press. I doubt it'd get bombed like 76, but you'd definitely see some great games get mobs on to them as that's what a following viewer base does. Twitter didn't exist then, YouTube definitely didn't have the presence it does now, Reddit wasn't a thing and the list goes on. Back then you had gaming magazines, forums and gaming articles on the web but that just wasn't so far out there to establish any presence. Ultimately 76 is getting smacked because it is a mediocre game (can still be fun though) and it has some lazy work put into it. That said social media does also help exaggerate on a lot of things these days too.

            • I am fine with people whiten on the game as long as they use valid points and do NOT in any way insult the people who play it. People who insult or make fun of other people who play games they do not like are immature and need to grow up and realize people have different likes and dislikes. I am getting annoyed by all the billions of videos all saying the same thing with the same thumbnails. Have some originality people. It's also beating a dead horse at this point. You'll probably also see the same people bashing the game for views praise it later if it gets fixed. There is a time and a place for criticism, but you also have to know when enough is enough and when it becomes childish. Don't like the game? Fine. Like the game? Fine, but if you don't like the game don't try to force others to dislike it as well and voice your pions and then be done with it. Constantly hating on something just because you want to does nothing to better the product. Nice actual criticisms that is valid to what the product is meant to be. I don't see why people are angry that an online survival game has a lackluster story, not that many NPCs to interact with and it grindy. That is what FO76 was advertised to be and that is what we got. Yes it has a lot pf bugs and Bethesda has done some stupid stuff, but give criticism that fits with what the game is trying to be. Fallout 76 needs more survival aspects and more penalties for dying for this type of game to work.
