As someone who has studied Japanese culture and history, anyone who tries to make something more out of this is not only insulting, but ignorant. Just read the daily forge bounties. Paying homage to the Japanese history by killing enemies with swords? Hello? Maybe this link will help. Probably not.

I’m so sick of people claiming to be Japanese folklore experts because they googled Izanami on Tuesday when this controversy started. Make sure you dontate to Wikipedia otherwise you won’t have somewhere to find out info like this. A perfectly good alternative would have been Inari Okami whose name doesn’t mean anything in English backwards. It’s just one of many superior alternatives that would have avoided controversy.

Oh never mind you have 198 comp games and 2,000+ QP games.. Now it makes sense for this to happen in a 6v6 since complete equal wipes are rare but in 4v4 it is practically non-existent.

I get what you mean but it's just a free use of Japanese mythological references. As long as they don't disrespect them, I am not particularly bothered or triggered. And even if they did why would we care. Ignorance is sad but not a crime. Humour is always welcomed though. All true. The posts that make me cringe are the ones pointing out the backwards spelling. To suggest that is disrespectful. Since they don't teach real history in school any more, people are growing up not knowing how horrible the holocaust was, and using that reference casually points to their ignorance, of history if nothing else.
