How do they not violate the vehicle owner’s right of due process? Why don’t people fight this?
ITT: people defend an unconstitutional act on the basis of “public safety” or “just because”. Apparently they’re ok with getting rid of the 14th amendment.

When the cameras first started this was a big topic, mainly because the cameras were shit & at first it was even hard to make out the license plate. Now fast forward a few yrs, now most cameras are high res. Hell have you watched any video footage from the newer ones the last couple yrs. Even when they use the traffic cameras on the news you can clearly see everything and every detail of a person sitting behind the wheel. Also all the cameras now have a very good zoom. Good luck trying to say you weren’t the one driving.

4 RepliesThey normally take a picture of the driver as well as to negate the "I wasn't driving it" defense

2 RepliesDon’t go through red lights then, or go 20 over the speed limit.

4 RepliesHere in Texas, they are not legally allowed to be put on your record, but they can arrest you if you do not pay them.

3 RepliesNo reasonable expectation of privacy in public.
-
2 RepliesUh, public safety?
-
6 RepliesCould you elaborate further on why you think they should not be legal? Side question, do you also think security cameras should be illegal?
-
1 ReplyThey are finally illegal here in Ohio

8 RepliesWhat exactly do they do? In uk we have speed cameras, average speed cameras, bus lane cameras, red light cameras, probably more cameras I forgot about. And it's a good thing, if you don't speed, drive in the right lane, stop at red lights and generally don't be a -blam!-, then you won't get a fine. If you do, then that's a fine.
