After getting my Redrix a month ago, i used it for 2 days then decided it was not very good and left it in my vault. The burnout of getting 5 resets soured me on the crucible for a gun that is the 7th-8th best pulse in the game. in no particular order
Bygones
Chattering Bone
Go figure
Right side of wrong
Horrors lease
Claws of the Wolf
Inaugural Address
Arguably every y1 390 pulse is also better. For a pinnacle weapon to be so down the list is sad cause i didn't even include the exotic pulse riffles which are still very good.
The gun arch type is the difference. 340 pulse riffle are bad and are going to always be bad. The rate of fire means that its only viable if it can consistently 2 tap. Bugie will never buff 340 to be that strong. So the only way to get Redrix on top of the list which it should be for what people have to do to earn is to make it a 390 pulse. The desperado perk would still be great and the gun would become META.

All 340s need is a small damage buff so you can hit 5 bullets head, 1 body (2 burst kill) instead of all 6 having to hit the head for a kill. It’s very inconsistent hitting all 6 bullets to the head, and you are punished more severely for dropping a single bullet to the body due to the slow RoF. All other pulses feel better to use because they are more forgiving with a faster body shot TTK and being able to make up missed shots more quickly.

Its trash as it is. I vaulted it. Every one in a while I use it in PVE for mindless patrol. What a waste.
-
No. It's fine where it is. It should be challenging to get that first kill, then you unload after. If it starts out in the best archetype, it's all anyone will ever use, just like Luna.
-
1 ReplyI agree completely and im sure almost everyone who got it would. Its supposed to be a "pinnacle weapon" but every other pulse rifle is out gunning it unless desperado is on which is extremely difficult to activate when any gun can outshoot you in even standing.
-
It actually has a superior TTK compared to the pulses you just mentioned. The problem is, its not very forgiving. Reduce the flinch factor on it and its good.
-
The gun would be better with a higher fire rate but it would be like a doctrine of passing. So either getgud with it or just not use it. There are better alternatives.

1 Replybro... it's low on the popularity list because people don't have it.

3 RepliesThat would be a cater to the already game killing casuals. The gun was already locked behind a skill barrier, now it’s free to everyone to get easily. And you want it to be the best pulse in game??? Why? Are you trying to snuff out the already dying PvP that is this game? This petition does not seem to take into consideration any other aspects of weaponry in the game, you are merely asking for people to “petition” what you want personally. Not something that would be an actual game improvement.

2 RepliesMaybe a unique 370 pulse?
-
Making it a 390 would break it and the crucible. they need to make it do 36 per crit so you can land 5 crits 1 body shot
-
1 ReplyBuff auto rifles
-
I used to love 340 rpm! The New Monarchy Legal Action 2 was my favorite primary for the longest in year one.
-
40 RepliesWhy would you want to just be playing against Redrix? A 390 change would make that the only weapon to use. The 340 is fine once you play with it and get used to it. You can be in desperado much for a big portion of the match.

9 RepliesThe broadsword should not be buffed the claymore should. The point of them making the broadsword was to give everyone the opportunity of attaining and using the desperado perk. While us who miserably grinded and got the claymore got slapped in the face by them just giving you everything in quest. Claymore being buffed would definitely be an awesome thing to have in the game

12 RepliesNo no no no. Everything I hear people complain about aside from questionably low body shot damage is all user error. Every little bit of it. It just has a skill gap.

3 RepliesEdited by TheSecco27: 11/30/2018 7:49:08 PMHonestly, it's not that terrible, but you need to engage at distance and play smart before you proc desperado. I've only played the curated roll, and it slayed pretty hard on longer sight line maps like equinox. Stored 2 random roll redrix, but didn't take the time to actually look at them or try them. Definitely not my cup of tea for mid-range maps, but just play a different primary for those.

1 ReplyThe problem is yes rate of fire but also consitencey. You will be outgunned by a chattering bone/ bygones if both are firing and hitting all crits. The differences is if you can proc the perk it will hoose down not forgottens. In y1 meta it was the best weapon because TTK on other weapons was significantly slower allowing it to edge out other weapons. In the now meta it's just not a good weapon. It can't hold it's own without the perk procked and its perk is too situational.
-
Just because you're not good with it, doesn't mean it needs a buff.
-
5 RepliesKind of off topic but the gun is actually really good in pve.
-
3 RepliesI agree, I spent 1500 tokens getting a god rolled redrix and its garbo

5 RepliesEdited by Oh Lawd He Comin': 11/30/2018 8:49:50 PMLol, Redrix isn't bad it's just a higher skill cap weapon. Its much more feasible to land all 6 headshots in your first 2 bursts for a kill with 340 RPM versus something like Bygones or Go Figure. With the right rolls it's the top Pulse Rifle in my books. The one on my hunter (has range MW) is PC God roll. The one on my warlock (has stability mw) is console/controller God roll. These are the two you should seek from Shaxx. The one on the warlock has no recoil deviation and can use a Targeting Adjuster mod, but I prefer the other one for now so I haven't used my last TA mod on it just yet.

1 ReplyYour right, first because it is supposed to be very powerful for the amount of work put in, second which all in this archetype suffer this, the high impact framed weapons are outclassed by adaptives. Between both of these things Redrix isn't what it should be, it should be stronger maybe it's own archetype. @Cosmo you'd think would have seen several posts concerning this weapon and how fairly weak it is hope the sandbox team is made aware of it.

4 RepliesI still use Graviton Lance. That thing rocks in PVP and PVE. I don't like to change my loadouts so I go with multi-purpose weapons.
-
21 RepliesI like my God roll redrix. 340s are better than 390s in almost all ways.
-
I don't even use it. Its a weapon that was designed during the teamshot era. It just feels sooo slow without desperado. The handling is so clunky. When desperado is activated, its recoil makes it difficult holding consistency at range. I feel like body shot kills should reward kill-clip, and headshots desperado. This would at least make it better in PvE. Trash mobs feel like orange bars to me when I use it. I get more consistency at pulse rifle range with my Duke than Redrix.
