Seriously it's been a laughing joke since D2. It's by far the worst shutdown super. On top of the fact it's the only super that can still kill the user. Its a bigger joke than the current state of all forms of tickle fingers. Our only hope is D3 if that's even an option.
Vortex Nova has the worst potential in killing another super let alone another enemy. You can freely walk in and out of the super and not die. Easiest to dodge as well as wiff. You put yourself at such a disadvantage using the super. For me to confidently shutdown another super I need to throw it at the ground in front me resulting in a trade as it kills the user if the enemy super doesn't. The moment it's thrown over some distance it starts arcing down so you have to Arc up and pray it can actually hit something. Those odds are slim to none.
The actual size of the super being thrown is a joke as well. Leaving the room for error so much higher. It needs to be the size of the taken bubbles thrown from the captains. And pull enemies into it's the radius and result in an instant kill at least in pvp. That's when it lies on the ground
Now as for solva bomb you can easily outrun it and it's not like you panic doing so. The moment it's thrown your lifted into the air so forget about throwing into a doorway. Speaking of doorways it gets caught on them if it doesn't kill you. As all the enemy needs to do is go behind a wall.
Slovabomb can hardly find it's target and the after effects of cataclysm well the seekers can find their targets either. Graviton Lance did a better job with cosmology than a super. Still hasn't changed. Seekers either activate on themselves so there's no additional potential to the super getting kills as again it's the easiest to wiff. Or hell the seekers lay dormant, fly off into the kill wall, detonate on the ground right next to enemies not killing them. Just like axion bolts as well. Also why and the hell is shooting it an option for early detonation? As guess what so can enemies.
Let's even talk about skull of dire ahamkara vs shards of galnaor. Yes galanor returned super energy is inconsistent but you can still get one kill and could possibly get the full 4-second cooldown leading to having another full super. As the room for error in blade barrage is so low. While I need to kill 4 or more guardians to even get like 50 percent returned to your super. Again if everything goes right and you don't run into the same bs all the time. Vortex nova hardly works with dire ahamkara as well. The additional damage resistance to the exotic is a wasted benefit as it should already have built-in resistance. As again it can kill the user, easiest to wiff and easiest to dodge.
Axion bolts and scatter nades also still struggle to kill enemies even after charging them which chaos accelerant. Scatter Nades still bounce delay activation and the enemy is long gone

1 ReplyKeep in mind that in D1 the subclass trees were better and you had LANCE. A novabomb that shot really fast in front of you.
-
6 Replies>Playing PvP Ah, there's your problem.
-
1 ReplyVortex needs to be replaced by lance nova bomb and the explosive radius needs to be a lot bigger
-
1 Replybungie heavy handed strat to force us into new supers and the grinds they require
-
1 ReplyIt would be nice if we could shape the bomb in other ways then just a giant blob, like a lance or split it up into smaller projectiles that spread out further.
-
1 ReplyI feel like the best solution is two things: 1. Faster tracking and speed for slova and it’s smaller projectiles 2. Make the vortex nova have similar damage, blast radius, and aftermath damage to thunder crash
-
1 ReplyThe damned thing so much as touches a door frame or wall and stops! Usually resulting in killing me! Yeah, it needs serious work.
-
1 ReplyThe activation time is laughably slow for PvP. Supposedly Bungie was going to buff the old supers to make them competitive with new ones, but take one look at Blade Barrage versus Nova Bomb and try to suggest they are even remotely close to equal. They need to activate much faster to ever be useful in PvP.

1 ReplyNova Bomb should be just like Blade Barrage. Basically make it an instant kill on everything, with zero skill involved. TROLLOLLOLL
-
2 RepliesNot sure why they touched nova from D1. I always thought it was the pinnacle of what a balanced class should be.
-
2 RepliesIf i had a dollar for every nova bomb that barely clipped a wall/doorway . . .

1 ReplyWarmind era nova bomb was king. Boop cannon got a buff and there would be tons of nova bomb warlocks everywhere! Now with the new supers/weapons, it’s rendered (not useless) outdated. Just needs increased speed on tracking (slova), increased speed in tracking on the projectiles that come from slova, and make the regular nova be a three split like in D1 with a higher blast radius. Simple things ya’know. As of right now, other supers are just more viable, reliable, and fun to use.

3 RepliesI main a void lock and started a hunter before forsaken, literally jumped straight up with double jump(no stompies) and barely took a 50 damage from a nova that was directly under me. They need to give it shatter or lance, preferrebly both
-
2 RepliesTrue story. I th ink they just wanted to kill off voidwalkers. Bums me out. We really need to get a true shatter bomb back. It's pretty sad that cosmology on graviton works but the seakers on our bomb and grenade are completely useless.

1 ReplyYeah the team wipe in control from the far side of the map Those were the days Now I am lucky to get 1 down to 1/2 health

1 ReplyAye, novabomb murdered. Rip, although you always had problem they’ve gotten worse.
