I played about 10 matches of Gambit yesterday and in almost half someone on my time kept trying to get 15 motes whenever we need literally 5 for the Primeval and they were all high in power. I lost every round someone did this. If you're one of those people and you see this please just for the sake of us all just deposit motes... it's not hard.
Edit: Gambit also boils down to your luck of getting heavy ammo to use something op. ( *Cough* *Cough* Sleeper, Queens breakers, and 1k Voices) I'm not saying I want them nerfed but they are indeed op.

I’ll probably have my thousand voices before people bank their motes.
I’m six clears deep, not counting this week.
3 RepliesIt’s annoying yes, unfortunately winning doesn’t give you gambit gear, bounties do. Well, you progress a lot faster on a win streak, but that’s still only one piece of gear leveling up. And guess what, that stupid blocker bounty reared it’s ugly head again, the one with 10 large and 15 medium blockers.

God please just deposit your motes already...
Ah the sh*tfest that is Gambit! Trying to solo queue with randoms who can't be bothered to learn the strategy of the game mode is very grating. When I get in those matches I just resign myself to the loss and hit that button to find new lobby once it's over and back in orbit. FWIW, if I'm in your lobby and I hear "bank those motes it's time for a primevil" you can bet your sweet ass I stop in my tracks, turn around and run to the bank immediately! Doesn't matter if I have 4 motes, 9 motes or 14 motes.... TO THE BANK! If I have no motes, I stand at the bank, ready to take down any blockers that get spawned so my teammates running for the bank have a clear path to deposit. I also make sure I save enough EP shottie ammo to trench barrel the envoys and take them down immediately after they spawn. This is another thing the knuckledraggers ignore... they are absolutely clueless about the envoys

Hey, I've got bounties to fill. lol
-
So.... don’t bank motes - got it! 👍

1 ReplyI like to go and grab the few motes that our team needs when that happens and deposit them before the dumb dingus gets a chance. You're trying to do the bounty for large blocker? Do it at the start of a round, not the frigging end.

7 RepliesEdited by AlphaLion42: 10/23/2018 10:27:18 PMI just had an idiot in my game who lost 52 motes, and another one who was holding onto 15 while we had 60 Motes banked. Edit: typo 16 to 15* That was all on me. Just a typo

1 ReplyThis is my major gripe with playing this game mode. I was in a match where in the second round I just stopped to watch the two guys I was playing with(third left after what they did in round 1) run around in each section trying to get to 15 everytime and losing motes the entire round. At the end of it one of them had banked 30 total in 2 rounds and the other had done 4... that's right in 2 rounds and only banked 4. A big problem though is the bounties. They really drive this problem because people are playing to the bounty instead of the game mode. This causes poor players to play worse.

I'd like Bungie to change the mote system to the way they do the Haunted Forest, kill so many (without dying), different levels of points ie; dregs equals 1 point, phalanx equals 3 points, captains are 5 points and the bank will be filled automatically until you get the Prime. 3 different Blockers sent in together to the opposing team at each 20 kills your team make. Then when it does, just make it harder to kill and maybe a couple more Envoys.

Too many players have been indoctrinated by the terrible “Bungie Bounty System” also known as B-bs. You get crappy drops actually playing the game the way it is designed, but get the possibility for good gear by completing stupid bounties like “spawn 15 large blockers”. Considering everything is a race for the next piece of gear because regular drops suck, players try to finish each bounty as fast as possible, instead of accomplishing them organically thru playing the objective. It’s like the control bounty for x-number of control points. People just hop around the map getting points but don’t actually control them. They abandon them and let them get taken by their opponents. Then they lose, but who cares! I got my gear! My kd is still ok because I didn’t shoot crap or get shot! B-bs is a fact we have to live with until Bungie actually wakes up and rewards people playing objectives.

I think some people need a tutorial for gambit lol! There's a lot of people just have no idea what they are doing at all!

Rename this game to supremacy and nobody will pickup motes. This game has lots of idiots.

1 ReplyI gave up when it comes to this game mode. Granted, I already reset the rank once, but still. I only play now in the off chance I get a god roll Trust.
-
Still haven’t seen the malfeasance boss.
-
Usually get 5 and if i happen to get over 7, ill go for 10.
-
I’ll usually try in get 5 or ten depending on if the enemy is about to invade. Also I run a shotgun hand cannon and linear fushion rifle so I can take out the invaders. Using teleportation warps is a good way to get away from invaders too
-
I don't think God plays this game.

Edited by Silencedbybumpgie: 10/23/2018 9:42:30 PMNo sir!! I’m collecting 15 modes and I’m invading...
-
Personally I like to deposit one mote at a time. Baby steps you know, don't want to over do it.
-
Ive stopped worrying about the bounties that dont give any legendary gear, because they make you play like shït. 15 measly infamy points is not worth losing every game.
-
Drifter: Bank your motes and you get a primeval. Guardian holding motes: Hold on guys I dropped my wallet on the other side of the map.
-
Getting that stupid bounty complete is worth the loss for some people.
-
Then go get the 5 and screw the random out of the 15 deposit.

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 10/23/2018 4:52:15 PMTell Bungie to stop making progression dependent on farming activities contrary to how thy should be played. Almost all the multiplayer-dependent bounties make you play exactly the opposite of how the mode should be played. I’m assuming Bungie made this decision thinking “oh, well, literally all of our players are mindful of each other, they’ll complete bounties when it’s best for the team while also playing in everyone’s best interests.” Because that happens. (The silver lining for me is that almost half the gambit matches I load into are either almost lost or almost won, so at least I don’t spend any more time than I have to in this game mode.)

<————proceeds to continue solo’n the adds until I get to 15 motes using a bow and throwing knife only... even though the bow is the lowest light item I could find in my vault. Also I ...wait is that an invader... I’ll go take him down with my bow too! He’ll never see me com... .::Guardian Down::. <—————loses 14 motes
