Ghost appreciation post
I understand that since day 1 of Destiny 1, people have hated our Ghost in one way or another. He's annoying! Some say, he's boring others complain, I want failsafe or sagira over my Ghost others plead
Today I just want to say something that I'm sure will piss off a lot of you... I absolutely adore my Ghost. From the moment you meet him I felt a friendship begin to form.
Out of all the characters Ghost is the one that constantly makes me emotional when he tells the player how special we are to him, I still remember in rise of Iron after we got the exotic khvostov and Ghost told us how proud he is of our achievements.
I know a lot of you have problems with him but... I love the little guy, wouldn't trade him for the world

His dry, deadpan wit had an undeniable charm, and even the lines that flopped were still memorable. I teased because I loved him and knew he could do better. But Nolan North’s ghost? He’ll always just be my step-ghost. I had already grown to love a different take on the ghost, so the replacement was bound to be disappointing. To me, he’s fastidious and annoying, and his voice grates on me. Now, it might be a good performance. I’m too biased to tell, because all I hear is “not my ghost.” It would have been better if they hadn’t re-recorded all of Dinklage’s lines. I understand, he’s a very famous actor who works mostly in film, so he’s probably both very difficult to schedule to record and very expensive. Plus he probably wasn’t real eager to come back after all the trash talking his performance got. I get it. But I hate that they retconned the work he had already done. They could have thrown in a simple line about the ghost getting a voice upgrade or whatever. But I hate that they erased the version of the ghost I loved.

Ghost is the -blam!-ing man. I mean, the guy has been looking for me a few centuries, tryina bring me back to life, and then watch his other half, the Guardian HE was meant to find, become one of the most powerful Guardians to have ever lived. Little guy must be so proud of us. And yet, he must feel so sad that we never talk to him, never answer his questions, or tell him how we feel. We never say “I love you” or “I appreciate every door you opened for me”

21 RepliesI would love to be rid if this useless piece of metal, he consistently messes stuff up for the dumbest of reasons, the writing for his dialogue is consistently worthless and boring, and worse yet he is a character that is supposed to be our guide through the universe and yet seems to consistently know next to nothing. He is a terribly written character, and no matter how many times they change voice actors, it wont fix this issue.

The fact that he makes that work is really pretty amazing. I feel like it's the "cool" thing to hate ghost, but I dunno, I think he's fantastic.

His target audience does not apply to me, I’m 29. Therefore I can’t identify with his lines. Have hated him since I was 25 I guess. Cortana however, was written in such a way where any age group can appreciate her dialogue.

I think I'd like my ghost better if my character actually replied to him. Right now it just blathers on at me about this or that and it's all very tiring.
