I can’t even play Iron Banner due to power.
I am not a hardcore player of destiny. One of the only things that keeps me occupied is crucible and iron banner.
Right now I am facing enemies 80 power levels above me and I can barely kill them. I can't even try to outplay them because the moment I step out of cover and try to shoot someone I can be killed twice as fast.
I understand the point of power being enabled, but this is just annoying. Even on my highest character I can only get to 530 and it is still not enough. It would be nice if maybe we had power taken in to consideration for matchmaking or lower the damage dropoff to 25% rather than the current 50% with over 50 or power level difference.
In Iron Banner right now, playing as a team and using actual skill to win is irrelevant; it is all about who did the raid and got their power levels up quickly.
I would prefer to play Iron Banner as it is a weekly event and in the past has been very fun, but now normal crucible is all I can do.

I don't agree with Bungie making light level matter again in banner and trials. Really shrinks the amount of players able to enjoy the event which inevitably shrinks the amount of players willing to load up the event. Bad move. Not sure why anyone wanted this to be a thing again.

Who did the raid quickly? You do realize that the raid has been out for over a month right? If you haven't done or attempted it by now it's no one's fault but your own. Furthermore there are PLENTY of things to do each week that aren't raid that you can do solo and will increase your power level and yet you again chose to ignore them. You are now reaping what you've sown. You don't need to be a "hardcore" player to have close to 600 light at this point. Asking for them to reduce power differences just because YOU chose to not level up is just selfish on your part.

Destiny and Destiny 2 are PvE games that have a side helping of PvP to casually pass down time. If you are NOT playing the important part of the game, you are NOT going to be able to compete (well) in the end game portion of it either. It was well know long ago that power advantages would be in play for IB. You chose not to do your best to accommodate this SIMPLE requirement. Thus now you are currently at a disadvantage of your own doing. Curiously: did you play the last IB event? How did you do be comparison? What was you LL compared to others at that time? And FTR: I have not been in the raid at all (feel free to check my stats) buy I am 580+ and probably will hold my own without issue. Other than I suck at PvP.

8 RepliesBungie enabled power levels in IB to ensure that anyone that did not purchase Forsaken could no longer play IB. This was by design. When Trials returns (someday) it will also be LL enabled.

4 RepliesPower advantages is what make Iron Banner what it is. If you don't want pvp with power advantages enabled play quick play. The actual level advantages are not that great. I've seen plenty of low light players wreck 590 on ups. Skill trumps the meager light advantages in IB. Grab a tissue, wipe that tear in your eye,go back out there, be the best version of you, and earn your self some loot.

While I do understand where you're coming from, this comes back to you. I play Destiny maybe 4 to 5 hours a day and both of my characters are 550+, the opportunities are there you have to take advantage of them. In terms of Iron Banner, power level enabled has always stuck and don't expect that to change, so grab your gun and get some loot and besides light levels are not that big of an issue, I'm downing players 580+ solo, you just have to play smarter and pick your battles wisely
