It has begun... raid elitism
Almost all of the LFG posts I see are 590+ 10 completions emblem required. Will check tracker.
Man get outta here with that bullshit. I've been helping underleveled and underprepared people through the raids since VOG days. The acidity and elitism bothers me to no end. Learn to play the game and stop asking to be carried through the raid.

1 ReplyI know the raid elitism is annoying, but it’s the difference between finishing the raid in an hour, and taking an hour to get through the first 2 bosses. If you don’t like it, make your own fire team and say “500+ power no experience or knowledge required”

Went with my clan Sunday/Monday last week doing raid for the first time with 1 random. it took us ~10 hours over two days; 5 hours to everything but riven, and 5 hours to clean riven + run the heart. We were learning the raid. After reset, we immediately ran it again, with the same setup (1 random). This time it took us 3 hours to beat the whole thing. That's the difference.

In all honesty, replying to posts is a gamble. It’s interacting with the personalities that determine what’s next. Was with 4 in a clan on gauntlet but because I said one was loud like a child, they attacked me. Keep in mind, I didn’t die as a runner nor did I make the wrong call out for the outside, yet they blamed me for messing up. 3 months ago it basically ruined my outlook on lfg

Some people are busy and only have a small window of time to fit in a raid. Requirements like this are the difference between a 1 hour completion and spending an hour on just the first 2 bosses. You are always more than welcome to make your own group and bring beginners. Just make sure you have the time set aside to explain things to them and let them try the encounter a few times before passing.

Edited by Conforce1: 10/11/2018 3:15:05 PMWe completed up to riven with a guy who started the raid at 516 and ended at vault with him at 527. It’s not that hard (We has to take a hour break so he could do some milestones to get past 525 for the vault but he only died once there)

1 ReplyThe thing I find funny is when people ask for the emblem. There’s literally no benefit to having the emblem, it just tells everyone that you can complete arguably the easiest encounter of the raid. Literally the only time the emblem is a good indicator of how capable a person is for the encounter you’re doing is if you’re doing the last encounter.

People were messaging me saying that’s an impossible standard to hold people too and that I need to quit being a sweaty prick. Now I’m seeing those same people make similar posts with even more impossible standards. Funny how irony works. Begun? Welcome to two weeks ago. Nah but seriously it's not all bad. Once you hit 575ish you will be able to find groups. 580 especially since that's sort of necessary if you're doing cluster bomb cheese.

It has Begun...Raid Entitlement its their damn fireteam they can run it however they like. i havnt done the raid yet. was going run it this week til i got communication Banned for responding to someone salty at for using telesto in crucible. so cant join any groups til the 21st. but i dont see a group wanting 590+ and cry they wont let me in when im only 558. no thats self entitlement. when i see a group like that i just move on and find a group who have requirements i can meet and join. or il make my own group. enough with this entitlement shit you people have. just because other people have done the raid does not -blam!-ing mean you people are entitled to their runs. its not even about them wanting to be carried. they dont want to take 10 hours to complete a raid because little timmy is only 540 at the Riven encounter and this is his first time. they want to be able to run the raid with competent people and people who arent going to get 1 shot every freaking time they encounter a enemy. but frankly if what other people do with their parties or groups bothers you so much? then you need to schedule a meeting with a psychiatrist and get that shit sorted out ASAP because that is not healthy for you to worry about what other people are doing.

Instead, I'll just start my own post and get a fireteam together. Choose the modifiers I want. About the raid though, I've only done the Kalli encounter but it was really fun and I'd like to get in and start on the next encounter but Ive got too much going on with school and such to dedicate the time to it at the moment. What I don't get is why does everyone complain about the "elitists" lfg posts? Put in the time watch a video on the encounter, make an lfg post and get in and do it. You'd be surprised how many willing people there are in the community to help you through a raid encounter. The thing is, you'll never know until you actually make an lfg post try. *edit* completely forgot, on my first and only Kalli kill I got the curated god roll of the Age-Old Bond. If that doesn't give me motivation to do the the rest of the raid I don't know what will.

Begun? It's been there since the beginning. It was even worse in the pre-April Update era. Looking at the "Find Fireteam" listing the other day gave me a few chuckles. LOL "Must be 2.0+ K/D...." "Must be 590+......"

We are now a 3 and are yet to run the raid, hoping to this weekend. This game needs more people like you.

Individuals who complain about raid elitism never make their own post to gather individuals. Additionally, before I completed the raid, I had very little issue lfging a group of people together. Afterwards, those are friendly are then friend requested and now you have a larger friend group to pull from when raiding. I think people get a bit of tunnel vision when looking for groups. There can be 10 groups just asking for kwtd. (Which is reasonable imo. It's not saying be God. Just watch a damn video) those are ignored and instead someone sees. 590+ 3 + completions and then come here and complain. At least for my completions with randoms, of any raid, the only requirement was basic knowledge and friendliness.
