As if it isnt hard enough to raise your light level as a solo player, the last 6 or 7 powerful rewards I have earned were no more than 1 LL above what I have and some (the last 3 in a row) were lower level. Wth? Anyone else having this happen? I am finding fewer reasons to keep coming back between that and the ridiculous exotic drop rate I am counting the days until RDR comes out.

3 RepliesWow, even better. Just did the 2 weekly bounties from Petra and got a 536 Abide the Return(sword) and a 548 Reverie Dawn Tabard(chest). Light level is 556 and I had a 549 in the heavy slot and a 558 chest. Please explain to me, trolls and know-it-alls, how that isnt broken. What's funny is I keep coming back thinking the game will get better. RDR2 here I come....

With all my powerful rewarda I went up 2 points. I even got a Y1 exotic that was lower level than the piece it had to replace. 1 prime engram in 20+ hours this week. What it was? Edge transit. In fact, 11 Edge Transits since the reset on Tuesday. Im getting very tired
-
I only really get higher light with prime drops. Usually. I get stuff that doesn’t even improve my gear a lot.

Their are tigers of powerful engrams, some drop +1 some drop +10 and up. Also you have to do all of your powerful engrams on one character in a specific order to get the most bang for your buck. My first two characters go up 20 light every week and my last goes up 25-30, hence by tomorrow I'll have 600's or at least 598's. Very easy. Also I get 2 exotics per character per week by using this formula.
-
That is how powerfull gear drops work. Every one of them except dreaming city and raid will be + 1 going by your average light.

13 RepliesI don't get it.... Is there actually problem or are players not thinking??? It's been several weeks, each week all my milestones have dropped higher light gear. That isn't luck, it's working as intended. I believe players are confused about levelling and think it's broken, imo.

Edited by Link_1974: 10/4/2018 5:59:03 PMTry LFG'ing into the raid.... Even at low light the loot drops will seriously boost you...

6 RepliesHow are people not even 560 yet? It’s week 5 for crying out loud

1 ReplyEdited by IRON RUMBLER: 10/4/2018 2:06:24 AMI've had a few like that but overall my light level has been increasing at a decent pace. Last week I manged an increase from 538 IIRC to 549 doing all the activities expect for the 100K Nightfall. This week will be a bit different since I'm chasing some weapons and like today I helped some players to complete the Nightfall which TBH took longer then expected but I don't mind it made someone happy.

28 RepliesI think you mis understand how this works. if your overall light is 545 you may bet an item that is 546 however, your helmet maybe at 549 and the drop is a 546 helmet, so it doesn't help you.. however, if it had been your power weapon that is at 542 it would have helped. It doesn't necessarily help your overall power, simply provides a drop higher than your overalll power level in one of your slots.

10 RepliesHey there, So the level system is a bit confusing however it goes something like this. Powerful engrams quests soft cap at 540, after that you will only receive gear 1 light above your level, except... The powerful gear rewards in the dreaming city, they soft cap at around 560 I believe. After 560 you will only get 1 light above your level. The first 2 raid encounters soft cap around 560 and the last 3 soft cap around 580. After that these will only reward you 1 light level above. The powerful engrams drops should always be decently above your light level. These numbers are not exact but is a basic way the "powerful engrams" work. Hope this helps

A clan member and I ran the nightfall, ascendant challenge and collected our offering to the Oracle....all drops were way below what we had currently equipped. What's the point of doing things when the powerful drops are garbage.
-
1 ReplyI literally got 4 vanguard helmets in a row all of which were 4 levels under the level my helmet is
-
Yeah there seems to be an issue. I've grinded 3 so far and all 3 dropped at the exact same light level which is below my current level. Also they are several light levels below the powerful engrams I was getting last week. In past weeks at the very least each powerful engram should be an increase of 1 if not more.

Just deleting this trash. They should change the name to "Trash"

Same here, I just did all the daily powerful gear quests and quests from Petra and nothing was above my current light level so the grind is starting to feel pointless and yes I am also waiting for RDR2....I will always play destiny but it’s more of a chore than a game now
-
7 RepliesThis is intended... Read one of the twabs where it states the new system and how it works.

Same here...I’m just under 563, and have gotten 2 drops that were supposed to be powerful, and ended up at 563

I’m having the same problem
