the reason it's not in that playlist is cause it's hybrid pvevp. does that mean trials isn't a "real" comp mode? cause that's not in the comp playlist either...

I cannot believe you're arguing with me about whether gambit is a competitive mode or not. It's geared for casuals and hardcore alike. It's a game mode for everyone. Casuals wouldn't dare step foot in comp or trials.
