I've seen every infusion system in Destiny history. They have all been relatively easy, its not meant to gate players off weapons and armor they like.
This new infusion system wants me to spend 2-3 masterwork cores and 15 legendary shards and 25 planet material to infuse?? I played the first 2 weeks of the base game and stopped. If you want to bring in new players or bring players back this is an awful way to do it. I have friends that have like 100 masterwork cores and like 5000 legendary shards and thousands of planet materials so its no problem for them.
This infusion system is just punishing new players :/

25 RepliesPlain and simple here’s the problem: No one wants to look stupid in mismatched outfits, which we currently are because it’s not easy to infuse. No one will use master cores to infuse because they’ll receive something the next day or next week that has higher light level then the piece you just infused. BLUF: this is leading to everyone looking goofy and not bad ass until we get to 600 when it’s “safe” to infuse pieces. -We want to look cool while melting faces and progressing.

Just another thing no one asked for that totally crippled the game. I think if they got rid of the whole Light shit and just kept the power level on weapons and armor, the game would be fine. Light Level is a total absolute bullshit mechanism where you can be 500 light and run a 280 heroic daily mission, and get totally -blam!-ing owned by simple red bar adds. Even on patrols it makes no sense at all. Smith even talked about removing it way back when and even now it seems totally useless.

1 ReplyMasterwork cores should have a reliable source. Infusion wouldn't need to be a "meaningful choice" if we couldn't just up y1 gear. Assumed that requirement wouldn't be necessary for y1 on y1 gear though :/

1 ReplyEdited by Grimey Dark: 10/2/2018 10:59:46 AMI don't mind it at all. Forces me to put some thought in what I'm doing. It doesn't bother me. Also, I believe that spider guy in tangled shore sells everything you need to infuse your gear.. So it's not such a big deal
-
2 RepliesApart from sleeper simulant, whisper of the worm, fast rate of fire shotgun, and 1 exotic armor piece. I don’t really see why you would need to rush to infuse any weapon up. You’re just being a whiner.
-
6 RepliesDon't agree. You don't need to be getting everything max level so fast.
-
7 RepliesHere come the casuals again trying to destroy what destiny has finally fixed. Smh

5 RepliesStop infusing. Only infuse your preferred gear every 15-30 LL don’t bother infusing your amour. Leave the most powerful items in your inventory, it’ll still count when the game drops a prime or powerful engram. Even if your highest gear isn’t equipped. I only infuse my Bygones,Sleeper,Whisper and Ikeilos SG once a week all the other stuff that is +1LL leave it in your inventory. Visiting Spider every day will get you a few MW cores. I know the MW core economy is messed up atm but you still can stock up on them. Also if you have a matterweave then use that.

4 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 10/1/2018 10:15:40 AMSoooo don't? Wait until you are going to attempt the raid to infuse something. By then you should have 60 or so cores. Your highest character is 526 there really is no reason for you to infuse anything atm.
-
It sucks. Period. Cores shouldn’t be involved with infusing up items.
-
i havent infused a single item since the new system , forced to use RNG crap weapons all the time , not fun
-
1 ReplyI just wanna know should I return to destiny 2? Because the first two DLC’s are on sale for half the price for 24 hours as of now and then that leaves me to only pay full price for forsaken. But I don’t know if I should or not. I need someone who has the all dlc’s and can respond with the most unbiased opinion possible. Is it worth coming back to?
-
Sucks for them
-
More like bad for anyone without 2k masterwork cores on hand which is a big part of the population
-
1 ReplyNah, it sucks for everyone. It's a bad system all on its own. RNG is ok for weapons, not for infusion. Needlessly bleeding the resources of anyone and everyone who played year 1 of Destiny 2 is punishing. The first year of your sequel was terrible, make it right. Dont make players feel like allegiance to a game that should have been left for dead lead, to you being punished again but just in a new-ish way... this is only slightly better than the Taken King progression system. I'm getting by but I had a decent amount of resources to start but I see them decreasing by the day. I can't imagine what a new player thinks of it. D1 year 3 leveling... Provide the content and you wont have to harbor a wildly disliked system to keep players logging hours.
-
It’s for the HARDCORE!!!!! And youtubers, at least most youtubers. For some reason they are really big into making tough decisions when it comes to what to infuse what item into some other item.
-
36 RepliesYeah, I'll wait until Bungie gives an update that kind of gets this expansion rolling before I buy it. I don't have the time as I did In D1 Y1 to play all day running repetitive content.
-
Once they've milked all the materials that year 1 players had saved, then they will change the economy to one that makes sense. After that, they will raise the light level, making everyone have to grind materials for the next expansion...
-
What you don’t like running wearing a piece of each different type of gear and making your guy look stupid? LOL. Wouldn’t it be nice if you can easy infuse your favourites and wear an entire set? If you wear your lowe sets and prime engram drops you’ll be WTF, a nice lower prime engram.
-
The new Infusion system is terrible, full stop. This game is grindy enough as it is, but having to grind for your weapon you’ve already obtained to be viable is stupid. Or there is the alternative option for getting the materials by waiting literal days until the Spider isn’t selling them for a ridiculous price. Forsaken is honestly the best Expansion we’ve ever seen in Destiny, the but the new infusion system is the worst thing that came with it
-
Even as a relatively veteran player, I’m avoiding infusion because I know I could get a higher level light item at any drop. But here’s one positive... you are encouraged to try out weapons and weapon types that you otherwise might never try.
-
Yeah, this infusion system is not good at all. It forces you to use mismatched gear and guns that you don't really want to use. I don't like that. For me, progression has come to a grinding (pun intended) halt.
-
I like destiny one infusion the best. Even if we have to buy exotic shards with strange coins
i miss strange coins.
-
Don't worry, in only 6 weeks from now you will get a bounty per day to acquire 1 additional Masterwork Core, and Strike Bosses will be able to drop a Masterwork Core at the same drop rate as Strike Catalysts. Problem solved.
-
Here’s how it should be. Go figure infused into a go figure, glimmer. Go figure into another pulse rifle, glimmer and shards. Go figure into a kinetic weapon, glimmer, shards, planetary materials. Go figure into anything else, glimmer, shards, materials, cores.
-
It just flat out sucks, period. There was nothing wrong with how it worked in Year 3.
