I think bungie owes shield titans and spear hunters an actual new super, we're the only ones left out and its not as enjoyable to play these classes- for me at least. I haven't played titan since forsaken released so I can't entirely speak for that but let me go into detail about hunters..
1. Duration
Arcstriders duration already felt a nerf, but now with the block ability it burns your super even faster. You'd think blocking would extend the duration to be more rewarding and create incentive to use the ability...
2. Mechanics
L2 was an empty button, the twirl block is a simple thing each perktree should have on arcstrider!
3. Perks
Disregarding the fact that old perk trees get four perks while new ones have a perk slot taken up to inform you of the altered super
Blocking increases damage 3x, this is slightly situational in pve given that you must be shot at to give yourself the buff, but getting shot at shouldn't be hard. In pvp this perk is just shy of useless and would only ever be noticed if an enemy shot you, you blocked it, meanwhile another enemy cast their roaming super and B-lined for you, and then you wacked them dead with 1x3 damage attack. Sounds cool but a situation like that might happen once every 30 matches..
Next up, disorienting blo- I mean, ebb and flow.. whatever that means.. its disorienting blow copy & pasted from the bottom skill tree, but it has no aoe, and regens abilities slightly faster for a moment. imaginative.
Next up, the shoulder charge that doesn't 1shot but has to be setup with a slide first therefore taking more skill/effort to use and is also more situational because it cant be done mid air and you cant just accidentally run into an opponent and shoulder check them, setting it up with the slide first requires a bit of foresight.
And there you have it folks! The most underwhelming new super introduced in forsaken! what do you think?
I pitty anyone who chose this with their first seed of light and got stuck with it
Edit: Various things have been pointed out to me and I've renewed my post. I've also been informed the twirl block can deflect things- including supers- thats exciting but I still want bungie to edit these perks to give them more synergy
community poll
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/248830472/0/0
Edit #3 yes the poll is biased but this one is not^ next I'm actually really impressed with the super after seeing it in action. bungie's perk descriptions are lacking vital information, and I still think the perks lack synergy.
-
You’re bad lol https://youtu.be/xfoT6vxiHDA It’s clearly easy to use and has a OHK on DODGE! That was literally a joke people said for giggles now all you have to do is dodge near the person and bam they dead.
-
You mentioning that there are 3 perks instead of 4 for the new attunements really makes me wish we were given a choice between supers along with the third attunement. That really would have made it far more enjoyable and brought back some of the enjoyable subclass customization of d1

24 RepliesI refuse to participate in your poll because it's not a fair one. You're basically shaming people who disagree with you. But I WILL nitpick the crud out of your post.
I think bungie owes shield titans and spear hunters an actual new super, we're the only ones left out and its not as enjoyable to play these classes- for me at least. I haven't played titan since forsaken released so I can't entirely speak for that but let me go into detail about hunters..
I disagree. heavily. You vastly over simplify the functionality, purpose, and intent of these clusters. You only see "block" as a base function. This is your failing. Not the clusters or Bungies. Code of the commander is a massive support class that has the best AoE clear in the game. And it gets a big shield that lets you do something you've not been able to do since D1. Stand still when dpsing raid bosses. The shield also brings weapons of light back. And any enemy that passes through your aura is attached with a detonator. Way of the current has something for both pve and pvp. The block/deflect is more of a pvp thing. as it lets you block or reflect all supers sans fist of havoc, nova warp, and chaos reach. And in a meta with shotguns being widely used this lets you get in on people with your MELEE based super SAFELY. That can't be over selled enough. Plus the damage boost lets you basically one hit most supers. The slide melee has deceptive aoe, locks on like normal melee's do, pushes enemies back, and hits behind the target as well. it's an AoE melee that procs several targets for ebb and flow. and in pvp it's a wonderful follow up to slide shotty/snipe. The ability regen is 1/4th of your abilities. that's without any mods or exotics. that's hella good.
Arcstriders duration already felt a nerf, but now with the block ability it burns your super even faster. You'd think blocking would extend the duration to be more rewarding and create incentive to use the ability...
You're not supposed to be blocking constantly like sentinels. It's meant to be used like "parrying" where you time your block, drop your block, attack. The damage boost is the incentive.
Disregarding the fact that old perk trees get four perks while new ones have a perk slot taken up to inform you of the altered super
Nearly every single cluster has a node that modifies your super in some fashion. This is not new with forsaken. So this point isn't as cheeky as you make it to be.
Blocking increases damage 3x, this is slightly situational in pve given that you must be shot at to give yourself the buff, but getting shot at shouldn't be hard. Sounds cool but a situation like that might happen once every 30 matches..
in pve blocking serves as a way to escape lethal damage if you over extended. in pvp blocking serves to let you get in on a guardian safely. It's useful in both pve and pvp. The only actual issue with the damage boost is that there is no proc notification or how long it lasts.
Next up, disorienting blo- I mean, ebb and flow.. whatever that means.. its disorienting blow copy & pasted from the bottom skill tree, but it has no aoe, and regens abilities slightly faster for a moment. imaginative.
The aoe is there by default on the slide melee. So misleading. And it's not a copy paste. Disorienting blow only does that stun effect. ebb and flow does the effect and also gives you ability regen. a meaty 1/4th of your ability energy (not counting mods or exotics.) I can easily point out how a lot of the trees are also about ability regen. Is that boring? maybe. But it certainly fits the bill for making us feel powerful if we can use our abilities really often.
Shoulder charge doesn't have any range. and while they got some AoE in D2 it's less than this melee's aoe. plus our melee sets us up for being able to use all of our abilities more often. Versus theres that is only meant for killing. it's a trade off. A fair one. You also must exist in bottom tier casual if you're counting sliding as situational. People slide constantly. And as I previously mentioned it tracks players like standard melee does. Meaning if you slide around the corner into someone's face and you let it rip but they were to the side of you? Your character auto corrects itself and aims and hits to the side of you. Way of the current is far from bad. It's just not super flashy new like other clusters are. That really shouldn't matter. I actually wish I had unlocked it first over a thousand cuts. Because as good as that class is in pve it's basically dead in pvp outside of the super. And while wraith is my baby it's a win more class. Way of the current does decent in pve and pvp and doesn't require any setup to use. It just depends on how good it's user is.

Yeah, I used the seed of light on nightstalker and gunslinger. Blade barrage is great in pve. I haven’t played as a wraith that much but it’s pretty cool.
-
Some slight adjustments would be great. But there was a moment when i blocked a sentinel shield, murdered the titan and the immediately blocked six shooter goldie and murdered him as well. Never though that was possible

Hunters in general are unimaginative and just boringly easymode.....
Fixed it for you!

2 RepliesDude the block ability is OP as hell it definitely should eat that bar, it ate my entire super blade barrage and left the person unscathed who preceded to kill me, definitely think that deserves recognition for the implications of how useful it can be

1 ReplyYou need to learn how to poll just ask if people want a change or not don't insult them if they have a different view on it and don't make a second poll that is just examples you came up with for how it should change that's what the comments are for.

4 RepliesEdited by Obi Wan Macaroni: 9/28/2018 6:45:14 AMKnow how to play with this new tree before bashing it. The new tree does more dps than any other arcstrider tree, if you know how to use its perks to your advantage. Also don't forget the strafe ability and blocking, that are very handy in pvp. I am a hunter main.

And the poll is biased
-
Bungie won't rework the supers anymore in D2. They will nerf or buff them.
-
I dont think you know how polls work.
-
I mean in fairness, well of radiance isn't exactly a new super more than it is a more powerful extension of the neutral game, much like radiance was in D1. Putting down a healing rift and empowering rift at the same time accomplishes the same goal, just at a weaker scale. That being said, both the arcstrider and sentinel supers are extremely potent and I wouldn't give Bungie the option to rework them and make them worse.
-
1 ReplyI really don’t think the new arc tree is bad so much as the new knife super for gunslinger is objectively superior to all the others right now.
-
I’ll say it again, Hunters are a class that rely heavily on timing. This super is heavily reliant on timing. Everything from slide shock wave, to the super itself. I’ll agree with your first point, but everything else is fine. Just increase the time slightly or make it so blocking damage doesn’t eat up so much energy.
-
I got it as my third super this week.. and i cant put myself to leveling it.. pretty much every activity i do i just switch back to Blade Barrage or Orpheus Rigs with tether..
-
-blam!- you , I main a Titan but every time I play Gunter it’s straight to arcstrider

News Flash!! All perk trees for all subclasses are

The new Sentinel is good but not the best, it’ll be getting a buff in the near future.

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 9/28/2018 2:49:14 AMKind of a biased poll there. The new Attunements aren't bad, but I think they could have done a bit better with them. The new Arcstrider one could have had the parry ability charge up the staff, and then, allow players to throw the staff, unleashing a huge AoE Arc blast, with 3 times the damage of a normal swing, on impact. For the new Sentinel one, honestly it's not bad. Like the Well of Radiance, it's meant for team support, however, it does have its uses. The shield puts Void detonators on enemies that touch or go through the shield, so it's highly viable for add-clearing. Though they could probably increase the damage boost it gives allies who shoot through it, and give it the ability to create a short-ranged disorienting effect in front of you with holding up the shield. The Burning Maul one for Sunbreaker would have been better if they had given the Solar tornado attack a defense debuff effect like the Young Wolf's Howl sword in D1, and maybe replace the the spin attack with an AoE swing attack like the Titan's Crown-Splitter sword, but when you hit enemies with it, it knocks them back, and makes them explode on impact if they hit a wall, or other enemies. The new Way of the Wraith Attunement for could have had better abilities, like faster sprint and movement speed while invisible (or add that to the Graviton Forfeit helmet), and maybe remove the full-health requirement for its Invisibility perk. Maybe an ability that replaces Dodge with a shadow movement ability that makes you intangible for a few seconds (similar to the Torn Between Dimensions effect in the King's Fall Raid). During that time, you're in 3rd person, can't attack, and you can't interact with anything (like capturing a zone or picking something up), for the duration that ability is active (to keep it from becoming an OP/broken ability). As for the Super, they could probably fix the hit-registration issue by giving it a bit of range like the Arcstrider swings. Make it so each slash creates a sort of close-ranged Void wave.

1 Replyhttps://youtu.be/xfoT6vxiHDA Clearly overpowered and extremely helpful to noobs

It's a fantastic super. Did a private match the yesterday to see how good it is and it's really strong. Git gud.
-
Y’all are bad watch the new ms 5000 watt video, clearly it’s overpowered and hunters say y’all don’t have a OHK melee? Yeah y’all do the new arc staff let’s you OHK another guardian if you simply shade step near them (shade step is a 10 second cool down) hella op.
-
They should have gave us one where we can throw the arc staff. I love arcstrider its my favorite subclass so throwing the staff sounds much more appealing to me.

1 ReplyIts always a good laugh when an invader Tries go sleeper me in gambit and I just deflect the sleeper shot back at him
