Taken servitor mega thread. Malfeasance quest
I don’t believe it RNG. You have to kill the HVT. After that bosses will spawn on the map. For us it was ogres with boss health bars. We dispatched them quickly thinking nothing of it and the taken servitor spawned after we had enough motes to summon the primevil. I am not 100% certain killing the HVT will spawn the bosses but I know killing the big yellow bar enemies will spawn the prime evil needed to get the quest started. I have had many people confirm that this worked for them. It is starting to pop up on reddit that this is the way. Good luck guardians.
Edit: wether the HVT (high value target) spawns the mini bosses I am unsure. That’s why I put it in the body. I can say unequivocally that I killed 3 ogres with boss health bars and it spawned. I have searched around and the reddit link is in the comments. There seems to be a trend In what I have wrote. There may be more mechanics to spawn the mini bosses but it is a step in the right direction. If you came here to poke holes and not help the community then go elsewhere.
Edit: changed the topic. I don’t want to mislead people. Post findings below so we can figure it out. I honestly believe there is a mechanic. Like making gambit a heroic encounter. What I have posted worked for me. I will keep trying, If I get proof I will need help to post the video. I will be playing gambit tonight to finish up and confirm my theory.

I killed several HVTs over the course of at least 10 matches yesterday and never had it spawn. If it is not RNG, there definitely appears to be an additional mechanic beyond killing the HVT.

It spawned for me last night and in that match we killed no HVTs. Interestingly enough, if the chimera/servitor spawns for your team, it spawns for the other team as well. I don't know how common that knowledge is so just throwing that in there

Your assumption is incorrect. My team just killed an HVT in the third round, no taken servitor.

If your not battling taken or invaders in Gambit it’s two main perks are non existent the weapon is trash not worth the grind don’t get caught in the hype

Killed the HVT which spawned three more which we killed, The boss didn’t spawn. We were on the third match too btw, I firmly believe it’s just a random chance

I’ve tried every theory on the internet today with no luck at all. I did however manage to hit max rank YAY Only to find I needed another 3000 to be able to reset it BOOOOO

OP is incorrect. I have gotten the servitor to spawn twice, two games in a row last night with randos. This morning I assembled a fireteam and we tried to grind for it again. Last night we killed 0 HVT’s and did nothing out of the ordinary, this morning we killed all HVTs and won 17 games in a row, wanna know how many servitors spawned? 0. Wanna know why? Cause it’s -blam!-ing rng based.

1 ReplyIf you read the comments in the main reddit post, it seems that the consensus is that it is random. Some people say they killed the hvt and the yellow bars and it popped- but most who also did this say it did not. Just saw something circular with tentacles just as the game ended. Me and my two clanmates were pissed when we finally got it to appear but we lost horribly. The Scorn-map didn't help us too much too in our luck

Whelp, I can tell you that I played some last night and then today I've played since 5am est to 3pm est. I've been in groups that got all those boss bar ogres and killed them all and spawned primevil, and also done hvts then primevil, and I've still never seen it spawn once as of yet, soooo.....what now?

4 RepliesIt’s 100% RNG. My team and I played for over three hours and we ALWAYS killed the HVT, and nothing. Boss randomly spawned on a match with nothing special going on. Don’t spread false info to grinding guardians, it’s RNG.
