Sad.
But at least all you whiners will stop crying about it for two days...
Can’t wait for the flood of whining when those same people get to the 25 precision kills in crucible step. How many days before bungle nerfs that to normal kills.
edit: I stated this in several replies, but to be clear, this is not about elitism. I don’t care who has or gets the gun, it effects my enjoyment zero percent if every single player has the ace, it is a fun gun after all.
My issue is that Bungie made a very good gun, set it behind a very reasonable quest, then nerfed said quest because of people crying. That is bad for the game in my opinion. Vanilla d2 suffered from just handing everything out.
Not everything should be attainable without considerable effort. And as for it’s part of the story, ok so is every raid weapon. Should those be guaranteed drops? No, you have to put it in the effort.

Get over it, it's just a game lmao

4 RepliesEdited by Scorpius XX1: 9/21/2018 12:26:31 AMIt's a video game. not the Bar exam. Calm down. Oh, and there is no such thing as '' Participation trophies.'' in a video game people pay money to enjoy.

So you’re annoyed at the fact we can get a cool gun quote easily? Go grind for the redrix claymore then, or Luna’s howl
-
I’m actually glad that they changed it. Yea I’ll have to play a little more Gambit but I also suck at PVP anything. So I stay in PVE except for weekly challenges. I’d love to play with Ace of Spades and I’m glad they are giving PVE players a chance.

2 RepliesBungie caved on the 3rd seed to, whats next oh just load in the raid and you will be rewarded...
-
What Bungie should do is create separate PvP and PvE quest steps for exotic quests. Make them just as challenging for both. Caters for each player
-
this quest wasnt even hard to do, no idea why they had to change it.... there must be some really terrible players on this game!
-
1 Replyno worries, I was one of the ones complaining, however it's now been tainted with your tears, so I shant try to obtain it now....
-
I mean I got it the "hard way" but I cannot find a shit to give if other people get it. My issue with the gun was that it was story based exotic that brought closure to Cayde's death in Ace in the Hole. A mission that I think the community needs to get to at least to end and bring closure to Cayde. So I think it's right to have allowed PvE players to experience that. It's not about the gun moreso the story but that's just me. Bungie could've simply made a PvP exotic that wasn't Ace that had slightly better damage and perks if people really wanted to feel special about a gun but not Ace, since ya know... It's a story based gun you're supposed to get and the pre order came with it's ornament which looks dope btw but everyone should be able to get their pre order bonus ornament on it.

So a quest is going to be a little less arduous for some people. Who cares, other than those working on it? Or rather, why should you care, if you've done it?
-
Not true. Still have to work for it. People were just party chatting the other team and farming it anyway. Who cares.Doesn't impact my life in the least.

1 ReplyEdited by albinomachina: 9/20/2018 11:17:59 PMI didn't think the 5 kills in Gambit was hard, it only took a couple of games. I can't believe people actually whined about that. Oh wait, it's Destiny; whiners everywhere ... I forgot.
-
1 ReplyThe quest step was not that bad, and Im terrible with handcannons in PvP... I will be happy in the knowledge that I did it the legit way before the nerf, and earned my Ace of Spades.
-
1 ReplyWait! Bungie is removing the Gambit requirement from Ace of Spades?! I hope they don’t do it right away! I consider myself a slight below average PVP player, BUT I am looking forward to the challenge! Bungie! Please wait until reset to remove this requirement. I have an entire weekend to binge play the campaign.
-
2 RepliesI agree, the quest wasn't hard. I'm betting the wish ender quest will be way harder.
-
3 RepliesAre you talking about the gambit step? If so, people had a good reason to complain. I completed it, but I will admit that that step was extremely difficult, and it was worded so poorly that it took me a few games just to figure out what to do.

Sorry, no. It's not about "nerfing after crying". It's about Activision's long standing pattern of polarizing behaviors in their games, thereby creating an addiction-effect. Addictions are cause by a largely 'excluded middle'. In other words, if they can get you swinging from the 'powerful weapon', to the 'weak weapon', and you keep coming back for more; you're addicted and FAR more probable to keep them banking. Activision is a billion dollar company, with highly paid behavioral scientists. The more ethical scientists deplore this low, narrow purview - especially when companies like Activision have plenty of resources to upgrade their ethics, but persistently choose the lower/narrow/lesser value space/set. Exactly.
-
What? I'm just now hearing about this. I only needed 1 more hc kill to complete that part!
-
Why’d they make one of the best exotics easier to get? Really? I can’t wait for them to remove raid requirement to get the will of a thousand voices.
-
There's a difference between taking effort versus being difficult. The original version of the Ace of Spades quest was the latter. (And it didn't help that the old quest had many players just camping for invader kills, instead of helping the team win.) Yes, getting the gun should take work. But if a player is willing to put in the time, then they should be able to get the gun.

3 RepliesIt was bad game design. Quests should never encourage a player on a team to deliberately play badly.
-
7 RepliesI don’t understand, have they changed the quest? Got mine week one so haven’t been following any changes...... Genuine question...
-
2 RepliesMy guess is that: A- No one was playing Gambit. They changed the quest and everyone plays for free this weekend. B- No one was playing Gambit correctly because they were pre occupied with getting invader kills. They changed it for the better of the game. Forget that elitist BS.

Aren't exotics supposed to be hard to get and be a token of accomplishment, not just free handouts. It's cool and all to give out a couple weaker exotics free but u gotta keep those flashy accomplishment exotics in there to motivate people.
