Edit: TL;DR - The thing that pisses me off is that people who used glitches and exploits to get higher light are rewarded by having a massive advantage over people like me who grinded my ass off for like 70+ hours. THAT is unfair.
So I know they bumped the light up due to people reaching unexpectedly high light; what they did not say (conveniently) is that it'd be so hard that normal players don't stand a chance.
The raid STARTS at 550, yet despite playing every single day after work and on my days off, amassing well over 100h on Forsaken alone, completing every daily and weekly challenge and I'm only 530, and my friends with similar playtimes are all 530-535.
What this means is basically, WE'RE SCREWED! The people who cheated their light up are rewarded, meanwhile legitimate, commited players like me and my friends have no reasonable chance of completing the raid.
I really wanted that jacket, but now I know Bungie don't want regular people to have nice things, they just cater to the cheaters and Twitch streamers (although it's not the Streamer's faults).
Really killed my excitement...

5 RepliesWasn’t the “glitched gear” low light level? What I heard anyway I could be wrong.
-
13 RepliesHave you ever played a destiny raid before? Just because it says recommended light level is 550 does NOT mean it will start at 550, it means that 550 is the recommended light level to beat it. It will most likely start at 520 or 530, and the sections just before and at the big boss will be 550 to 560 power level.

Can anyone say Red dead? 😜

3 RepliesHaving content at endgame that you can’t just waltz into is exactly the way it should be. Why would you want to finish it all in an hour ? You paid for this - get your hours out of it and value for money. It’s code - there will always be exploits - but hold your head up if you didn’t jump on the band wagon and played as it should be. As for being higher levelled - it’s RNG , some will be lucky some won’t. In the same way I haven’t won lotto yet .... yet I don’t hate those who have.

2 RepliesEdited by Supergizmo04: 9/14/2018 11:25:45 PMSilly me thought i'd flop through the first part at 512 hoping for a good drop... Literally another 2 weeks worth of grinding before i'm remotely raid ready. I'm not terrible, have played almost every night for a few hours, and literally for the first time since D1 launch i'm not raid ready... Unless the raid is completely amazing i think i'll go replay God of War again.
-
3 RepliesDidn't all the raids do that? Start at one level and progressively get harder?
-
4 RepliesSuck it up biscuit
-
Stop your bitching. I didn't even attempt VoG in D1 till 3-4 weeks after launch and ended up with over 500 raid completions before D2 started.
-
I agreed with you until you said you wanted the jacket and then I realised this must be a joke post.

2 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 9/15/2018 2:55:16 AMHow it should be is you complete the campaign to hit the soft cap, you play strikes/Gambit/PvP/nightfall and that should get to right at the recommended level IN TIME for when the raid finally drops. Right now it's grind your brains out and aren't even close to the recommended level. Has been like that for years.

Triple Wreck’s raid team is getting beat up pretty bad right now, but they also inexplicably had one in the 340s. That cat must be super tight with someone on that team. lol!
-
The point you made about you and your friends only being 530-535 means y’all probably wouldn’t be able to finish the raid regardless.

3 RepliesMore important things in life mate 👍

5 RepliesIm fine with waiting a week or 2 before attempting it i just wish the emblem and jacket werent so limited! Having a job and playing destiny do not mix unfortunately.
-
bungie killed your excitement
No you did that all on your own.

you do realise that the max light level now is 600 right? So it's only natural that the raid should be tiered to make it a challenge up to that new level cap. It's got nothing to do with if people cheesed their light levels or not. The people who went to race for world first are still 540-550 light. It's not like they went into the raid with max 600 light level already. It all comes down to RNG and very little to do with cheating. I've put in close to 100hrs into Forsaken myself and only at 525 light with no exotics to show for it. Meanwhile I have a mate that got 8 exotics in 7hrs

2 RepliesAh. We have another kid who thinks this is some sort of advantage. When I did it I got a 500 scout rifle with kill clip, wheres my glitching privilege?
-
You big baby. Keep crying
-
5 RepliesMan this whole thread is like listening to rich people complain about the color of the seats in their Mercedes. You do realize that less than 2 out of ten people have ever completed a Raid in D1 or D2.
-
Unless you're trying to go for World's First, why do you care? Just do it next week.
-
I was expecting 560, but considering Nightfalls are 540, that's not really bad.

...hard to believe Bungie has been in business for 11 years...i'll never purchase another Bungie product again after the way they've behaved in the last 3 weeks and im spreading the word about how terribly they treat their player base. Bungie does not deserve to be anywhere near a game as epic as Destiny.

Edited by denis2menace: 9/14/2018 8:38:31 PMThis is really frustating. Just like you OP i did every single dailys and weeklys everyday on 2 characters and i am lvl 530 and it's impossible to do the first part of the raid... This has never happened in any raids i played, i was always able to play it even tough i was a little lower level. Bungie made this DLC for people who abuse exploits and Bungie will actually probably congratulate the first group of cheaters for the first raid completion, knowing all they did was abuse the exploits of the game. This encourages exploit abuse, Bungie encourages exploit abuse.

If you ain’t cheatin then you ain’t tryin -Bungie
-
It should have been delayed 2 more weeks. And on a saturday
-
I like that bungie said they are not banning people that glitched into the raid and did exploits but if it was us see you later bungie has tons of videos showing them taking advantage of glitches and exploits and do nothing because they are advertising that destiny is back its like it was before ect ect
