Raid Power Level... WHAT?
Edit: TL;DR - The thing that pisses me off is that people who used glitches and exploits to get higher light are rewarded by having a massive advantage over people like me who grinded my ass off for like 70+ hours. THAT is unfair.
So I know they bumped the light up due to people reaching unexpectedly high light; what they did not say (conveniently) is that it'd be so hard that normal players don't stand a chance.
The raid STARTS at 550, yet despite playing every single day after work and on my days off, amassing well over 100h on Forsaken alone, completing every daily and weekly challenge and I'm only 530, and my friends with similar playtimes are all 530-535.
What this means is basically, WE'RE SCREWED! The people who cheated their light up are rewarded, meanwhile legitimate, commited players like me and my friends have no reasonable chance of completing the raid.
I really wanted that jacket, but now I know Bungie don't want regular people to have nice things, they just cater to the cheaters and Twitch streamers (although it's not the Streamer's faults).
Really killed my excitement...

1 ReplyI agree the cheaters have an advantagen but its also bungies fault, they can detect who cheated (i mean if you had raid gear before the raid came out its pretty obvious) and they can probably see who opened 100’s of prime engrams, they can and should have just given them a power reset yesterday right before the raid came out. Cheating/exploiting/cheesing shouldnt be left unpunished, it will make people do it again next time.

8 RepliesThe throttled leveling system and broken infusion have made the game a boring chore. I don't even feel like playing anymore, because I know I won't have fun. Progression was great in Year 3. It's annoying in D2.

I have friends who did zero exploiting and are at 550 without the raid. It was possible, just took a ton of grinding. Literally a ton. Maybe they planned it to where only a few could raid because it should be months of grinding to get Max light level for average players because everyone keeps complaining after a month they have nothing to do. If everyone was able to be able to get into the raid and beat it while just being average the first day it came out then people would complain about the same thing again. They did it right, people just don't see it yet.

You’re higher than me. Though I played Spiderman and throughly enjoyed that game. May even go back and play it some more. And I’m not concerned about the light level. I’ll get there eventually. And by that time there will be tips and tricks for doing the raid more effectively. Seems win-win to me.

1 ReplyDatto did it at 540 light, he refused to glitch or do anything like that, he got 3rd completion after a straight 24 hour stream.

I guess the definition of hard for some people is having to do 2 more weeks of grinding before being able to access it.

Man there is ALWAYS gonna be some exploit/glitch that’ll ruin it for others in this game. All D1 players should know this by now.

And if you can put in 100 hours in under 2 weeks you are playing just as much as a streamer(If not more 100/11=9.09 hours per day). People found a way to exploit the system and it wasnt just streamers who did it. This post is unfair to everyone involved.

I wouldn't give it much thought. You'll get there when you get there. When you do there will be something to look forward to. For the others, not so much. My 1st toon is about 515 max at the moment and to be honest I'm still discovering things. I help some friends, do some strikes, wander around and look for secrets. Just enjoy the journey while you can.

1 ReplyNext time you want max light asap you should play 3 toons. The weapons transfer and you can level faster. Getting the dreaming city/nf drops 3x (a week) and a new prime engram drop rate (3 toons v 1) would have raised your light faster then chasing the 520 level powerful drops on 1 toon. Don't worry if you continue to play you will be running the raid at 580 light in a few weeks.

Not only did people exploit the prime engrams to get a higher light for the raid. They now get there 3rd super unlocked.
