2 RepliesI thinks it’s a bit premature to start celebrating. My experience with Bungie and the Destiny franchise has talk me that Bungie are a company of ‘extremes’, with them, it’s either all or nothing. My big fear is that they’ve gone from being too generous to too stingy, and I don’t think either option is right.
-
Early D1: Stingy drop rates for great exotics. Later D1: Boosted drop rates for nerfed exotics. Vanilla D2: Generous drop rates for anemic exotics. Later D2: ??? If the exotics are awesome, I'll take a lower drop rate.
-
13 RepliesIt's the Bungie way, anything to wreck fun.
-
2 RepliesIf you think exotics are enough to emulate D1 then you never played D1
-
2 RepliesI waited 3 months to get my first drop in D1. Guess it will make xur useful again
-
Just got the PlayStation exclusive trace rifle from a Petra bounty.
-
The first new thing I got was Borealis, from a legendary I saved last week on my Titan Welp
-
Trueee But Banshee just gave me the Wavesplitter so I’m satisfied so far.
-
Only seen one exotic drop and it dropped for me. Useless ahamkara spine tho. It was actually lower than my current gauntlets somehow
-
9 RepliesI like the new drop rates too - they favour the invested player more than the casual, as it always should have been. My only gripe is with Xur not having a Fated Engram... totally understand if he doesn't have new stuff straight up, but the Fated Engram for 1 garauntee a week would be nice. So far I've had one drop.... annnnnnd.... the Frenzy. The funny part being Frenzy was the first exotic I got in Vanilla as well. Imagine my crushing disappointment to see an exotic on the ground, assume I'm being tricked by a certain somebody, and then it actually being an exotic... but a Frenzy -_- Oh well, all the more reason to grind.

Bumpity bump

2 Repliesit went wayyy too far. all of the things that got balanced should have been balanced because it was too easy before. but now i feel like id have to be able to play this game like a full time job to even get anything worth while. ive played at least six hours every day since launch and ZERO exotic drops. if my first drop is a dupe, im probably gonna lose my mind. Pure RNG is useless as a means of balancing anything, as it can give right away to one, and hold out on another for statistically absurd times. some sort of more complex system that prevents instant hand outs and protracted grinds should be implemented.
-
5 RepliesWhy can't they just tie Exotics to long and difficult quest lines with about 8-12 steps? That would have been a far better system than what they've done so far in either game. Exotics wouldn't just drop like candy, but it wouldn't take weeks, or months (or days for those players that have the luck of the gods) to get one by pure chance. You'd have to really grind for it. Kinda like some of the Exotic quests in D1, but longer.

5 RepliesGot my first Exotic this morning. The Hunter Bow gloves. Pretty cool, but not amazing. I miss Exotics that actually felt novel and interesting, although at least this one lets me do something I normally couldn't do. I'm actually in favor of the reduced drop. I don't feel like Exotics should be something you can have an entire collection of. I remember the early days of D1 when I'd see someone in the tower with a cool looking gun or helmet and thing "Holy shit, what is that? Where did they get that? I've never seen that before. In D2 it often seems like exotics are more common that Legendary gear. They don't seem special anymore, and when I get one I'm not really excited. Often I'll try it out for a few minutes and then put it in the vault forever. In D1 my first exotic was Pocket Infinity (from the quest. I didn't see an Exotic world drop until I'd been playing for about 3 months). I didn't like Fusion Rifles, but it was such a cool and weird weapon I forced myself to use it, and it became my go to weapon for everything. My signature weapon. That was something I liked. I knew someone else who got Hawkmoon early on and kept it equipped pretty much for the entire life of the game. I want exotics to feel special again. Drastically restricting access to them isn't a full solution, but its one step.

15 RepliesMy only complaint is that I wish we got one (1) exotic at the end of the Forsaken campaign. Nothing like the "yeah we lost literally everything but here's some of the rarest most powerful weapons/gear that we had" from vanilla D2
-
2 RepliesWhile I think this is good, I do want to smack a keyboard into the face of the guy who's responsible for the Xûr loadout. N o t h i n g worthwhile
-
9 RepliesComplete rng is not a good way to reward players. If you’re unlucky, you could play every day for weeks and not get an exotic. That’s not good reward for your time. Every time you don’t receive an exotic from a possible exotic source, the chance you’ll get one next time should slowly increase.
-
1 ReplyNot had any exotics since forsaken dropped
-
Oh yea. I'm level 515 on my hunter and I havent had one to drop yet lol
-
I was just about to make a post about this. I started to wonder if this expansion even had any new exotics.... I’ve had one exotic drop and it was of course an old one that I’ve gotten 30 times already.
-
It’s kinda nice lol sucks yea but nice
-
I'd be all fine and dandy with the new exotic drop rates if they were also in Xurs loot pool. I've put 50+ hours in this week and haven't seen a single exotic drop, new or old. Buddies I run with got the Cerberus and several old exotics but I can't get a single one!
Although the God Roll bow I got wrecks ppl in crucible 😁
2 RepliesWell just wait for all you guys who like this crap, back to d1. Well that sucked imo I paid for the game I should get what I paid for. I don’t want to put a 1000 hrs into a game and never get it like the ghallihorn, some people never got it. So what good is it if you don’t have it for a raid then no one wants to play with you. Ghallihorn syndrome. These exotics are not that world ending except for the one eyed mask,(which they are going to nerf anyway).
-
Remember this the next time they discuss having a "community summit"
-
1 ReplyRan a quick EOW last night got borealis from the chest as you drop. Got Celestial Nighthawk from a daily heroic. Dropped from a Major halfway through. As someone who plays a lot. This is awesome. I like the exotics being exotic and harder to get. Problem with D2 on release they gave everything to everybody.
-
7 Repliesit is , and i completely love it love that xur aint selling any new items if it were up to me i would not have xur selling any exotics, just ways to increase your chances of acquiring one and thats it ...
