Ace of spades Invader kills is stupid
So first off, I’m not thinking about winning or motes, I need these 5 kills of invaders with a hand cannon so as soon as I hear we are invaded, that’s all I care about.
Secondly, a lot of invaders just hang back with sleeper or whisper. Also you can’t see them unless they are in plain site and they can see me at all times. I’m meant to close the gap with a hand cannon how?
Thirdly, they also get an overshield.
Stupid. Quest. Requirement.
It just isn’t fun and I’m not worried at all about helping my team win, I just want these 5 kills.

*edit* After a couple hours I had one kill. Problem was most invaders were using sleeper which is an easy one hit kill. That along with having an over shield and using other more powerful weapons or my team mates getting the kill instead with sleeper or finishing off my work, it was really dragging.
Then in one game I just spawn camped one invasion spot (and didn’t bother with our prime evil) and lucky for me they kept spawning there with me behind them. The invaders were obviously even worse than me. I’d grenade their overshield and crimson them. Ended up getting 4 in one game to finish it off.
It’s made me horribly bored of Gambit. Is that really how they want people to play to do these quests? Just like I kept leaving crucible over solstice if there wasn’t enough time for another super when I needed super kills or when I needed my 5 wins, if my team was doing really badly, again, I’d just leave.
I’ll get my 25 head shots in crucible ok, but yuck, hated that Gambit bit.

Hey.....atleast they can't use Chameleon on you and Emit Force you off a ledge. Too bad we don't have giant seeds on us.....

Yes it's probably considered exploiting/cheesing right now, but honestly Bungie didn't know what the Gambit invasion meta was going to be when they wrote the quest and probably couldn't have predicted that 99% of invaders will just hang back and snipe with sleeper/whisper.

I struggled at first, then brought strum and drang to the party and we had a good time!

1 ReplyCrimson gets it done really fast. As soon as you hear an invader entering back away from the action and watch for where the invader spawned from. While they’re busy shooting someone it’s very easy to run up and crimson them

The strategy I used was to hit them once with a bow and finish them with a hand cannon. Took me a few games because I was a little rusty in PvP. If you're on a hunter use Foetracer as it will put you on a more level playing field with the invader once you put some damage in them.

Its really not that hard get the Crimson and focus mainly on the Invader try to figure out where they spawn and get teamates to help with callouts

Most players think they have to invade the other side for kills so for the past 10 games or so i have seen players camping near the portal to jump i as soon as it activates only to find out their kills dont work.. You need to kill the invader, not invade yourself so just assist your team and kill the other dude when he shows up.

Its easier if your team is winning and you are in a stack of 4. Once you summon the prime and they can invade you can all hand cannon shoot the same guy if u hang back where they teleport in. However in doing so you will most likely throw the match. My suggestion is if you are struggling use Sturm and Drang (masterworked if possible) and kill the pve adds with drang to stack up the 8 overcharged bullets so when they do invade that oversheild will be shot off in 1 bullet from sturm.

Got mine in 3 or 4 games. Not doing anything special, just hanging back and keeping an eye out with Crimson.

One kill left and I am getting that done. I really like Gambit when I’m playing with a team. Not when I’m solo. After I’m done with the Ace, I’m moving on to the Chaperone :)

Using drang to overcharge your strum when you see the enemy team is about to hit 50 points. That's when you know you have to get ready. The invader has 30 secs to come and kill you .. most times he will rush you if you go behind cover. That's how a friend of mine (teammate) did it last night ... in like 7 games worth

I got my 5 kills in 30 minutes. I was using the service revolver. Rank 40 season 3 vanguard weapon.

I've lost almost every round while I try to get these -blam!-ing handcannon kills. Not to mention that because of the absolutely -blam!- infusion changes, I've been forced to use Thin Line to get my kills. That is probably the worst handcannon I've ever wielded. But now that I got a better primary handcannon with a decent rate of fire, I think the last 3 kills will be a bit simpler. On a gameplay standpoint, I understand why getting an exotic should be difficult. And it absolutely should be. But as someone who just got done the main campaign, I was like; "What the hell Bungie? I avenged Cayde with his gun, its mine now. Why make me jump through more hoops!?" Lol. Its annoying, but not impossible.
