Stay far away from Crucible if you are a solo player.
For solo players, I would stay far away from Crucible. My efficiency has plummeted since the update as I have gone up against team after team with players who take no damage due to lag or seemingly get one tapped from a primary weapon while shoulder charging (again, due to lag).
Get as hyped as you want, but the Crucible has not been fixed.

1 ReplyWhy do people hate PVP but go out of their way to write a bad review about the game? If you don't like PVP don't play it. if you suck and you play it and your write a bad review, it's not a bad game you just suck! It sounds like they're looking for attention!

Shoot and hide....what a skill. The maps feel smaller...somewhere someone on reddit did a D1 vs D2 crucible map comparison and the maps we have today are smaller.....so in conclusion if you want to get a positive K/D, play a hunter using a shotty, telesto, and some heavy.

Your post should be, "some solo players should stay away." I play solo, and am loving it. Does it suck to get crushed by full teams? Yeah. But hell it sucks to be crushed by a full team of randoms too. Can't win them all. Still having a blast though. So many different guns to try out. Can't wait until Tuesday and I can try out all the guns I dismantled in my vault. Almost never used play of the game, deleted maybe 6 of them. Now they are burley has hell. You can still practice and or complete bounties during a losing match. You can still try out different load outs. And with the ammo/weapon slot changes, you can practice sniping almost all match. If you disliked crucible before, the changes probably won't make you instantly love it now. And if you used to like, just using long range pulse rifles? Well, the meta has changed. Time to change with it and adapt. Meta changes have always been a constant with Destiny pvp. Adapt, or don't play pvp. But if you choose not to adapt, then don't bitch about not getting the Ace of Spades, or any other reward that requires pvp play.

17 RepliesWow, I just came back to Desitiny 2 after a long run on Fortnite and other games, and just mainly disgusted with Bungie and Destiny 2. An what do I find, the forsaken update, that virtually killed Crucible for anyone playing solo and with good bandwidth. Lag is 10x worse, blinking characters and completely unrealistic gameplay and shots. Not just through walls, but shotgun hits from cross map etc.... The only people that really enjoy this crap game anymore are the hackers, boosters, and Bungie for all its micro transaction revenue from all the poor sheep that don't know any better. This is why real gamers will never take this gamer serious anymore, and like me will never purchase the forsaken upgrade. Disgusted.

1 ReplyI think it is going to be more fun for the less skilled players and less fun for the higher skilled. Much more shotty rushing / quick melee kills, etc.

2 RepliesEdited by Rai: 8/29/2018 12:10:32 PMcan confirm, crucible is utter crap now. at least before the TTK change, you had time to react to the horrible lag and netcode. now, when your shots straight up don't register, that's it you're dead. people literally sitting around corners with shotguns staring at their radar, people rubberbanding while they go for melees making it virtually impossible to aim at them, constantly getting melee killed by people AFTER the kill feed shows that I shot them dead. i was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo -blam!-ing excited for this update, and so far it has been the biggest disappointment of this entire year for me.

1 ReplyComing to Destiny for PvP is where you went wrong. You have to realize other games are way better at PvP than Destiny. It’s just horribly designed from maps, P2P severs, very dominant weapons etc.... Destiny is a PvE game and that part is good. Chose another game for a good PvP experience

Played 6 games solo last night and did ok. Was messing around with different gun configurations and trying lots of new things so I didn't expect it to be great. My biggest complaint (as always) is the horrible matchmaking. CBMM has to be fixed. Especially when shoulder charge is a OHK now and they lag like crazy.

The issue with lag coupled with P2P have plagued the Crucible since the franchise started in 2014. Accept that it’s broken and there is minimal consistency game to game. It sucks to be sure but that’s Destiny PVP in a nutshell. Simply don’t play it. We’ve all vented (by the 1000s) on this very Forum about the lag. It can’t be fixed. Period.

6 RepliesGet good kid, I’m solo. I just played a game solo and I got 38 kills and no one on any team got even 30. No more holding hands with your teammates. That’s why your efficiency has dropped. Skill gap is higher bud.

1 ReplyWe need dedicated servers with a server browser really bad, so folks can join a server that has a low ping to them and you won't have to worry about being matched up with a bad host. Until then I will never play PVP in destiny I hope we can get Bungie to provide a better service

Use a good headset, you'll be able to hear enemy footsteps behind walls, and you focus better. Check my matches if you dont believe me. I end up every match 1st or 2nd in my team once in a while 3rd.... team play is for insecure people who can't play alone... or really have a need of playing with friends. not hating, just stating an opinion. I suppose CoD has ruined me for a lifetime. But game chat as a woman takes a huge toll in certain games. Point is, don't despair. You might get crappy teammates but you'll be able to stand your ground if you practice solo play a lot, to finish it with something positive. 😇

I detested shotgun slide; it took no skill; and just promotes a charge at the enemy and slide attitude, I'll avoid Crucible now as much as possible until Iron banner, or Mayhem; where the former I want rewards, the latter isn't as sweaty. A new crucible mode needs to be implemented, clan wars.

I did not like 6v6 before but shotgun has turned the tables so I get my trades now much easier, I solo a lot as well. I experienced lag only once today, BNet has a nice network to play on.
