Around a few months actually. When the first Death Star went boom, if was raining debris for months. There is a tie pilot who flew during the battle who got shot down. His name was Qorl. He almost successfully kidnapped Jedi.

1 ReplyAtmospheres exist. The death star was big but after it was eviscerated by that explosion I doubt much of it made it down to endor after burning up in space.
