This would have add a lot of playtime in the game.

It would really make sense. From week two in the game getting planet vender engrams was pointless.
-
that would make it like D1
-
More npcs that you can visit and get complicated quest lines for better gear would be a better route in my opinion rather then having to grind tokens so much. Although I would be happy either direction I think quests would be much more enjoyable.

What would be more interesting is to have a rapport system with each vendor. Rapport would be increased by doing bounties, ranking up with tokens, or completing challenges in their given area. Once you reach a certain level of rapport we are given lore information about the vendor, maybe building on a story they’re telling over time. Then once you reach a certain level, they would give you a quest, similar to saint-14s, that would culminate in a mission in which you do a favor for them, resolve something from their past, etc. that would then reward you with an exotic or legendary that was specific to that vendor. For example, with cayde and the story of his son Ace. Say over time by completing public events, patrols, challenges, and opening his chests you gained rapport. Every 5-10 levels you got one of his letter fragments. Once you got to say level 50, he would give you a quest with a mission that maybe helps him remember Ace more or resolves something with that, then you get the Ace of Spades. Obviously bungie isn’t going this route, but it would’ve been cool to have seen more investment into the character development of the vendors in the every day game.

2 RepliesGear should have ornaments and unlockable mods/perk options. Each vendor should have their own set with ornaments unlocked by various challenges/prestige level. Mod/perk unlocks could be tied to any number of activities from single events such as prestige raid bosses defeated or completion of a nightfall with a specified modifier list to grindy things like 100 lost sectors looted with 3x+ renown. Gear could start out as common and be progressed to unlock options/ornaments through the rarity tiers. Some of the progression could be tied to tokens but that’s really just more boring.

5 RepliesAnd maybe special missions unique to each one, heroic optional. And maybe each have their own story lines and lore included in these mission threads. ...And maybe perks and builds unique to their gear which fit their theme. Vanguard have PvE builds like Headhunter Sniper which has armor that helps you find more ammo for equipped sniper, rewards heads hots with exponentially increasing damage in the clip, etc. ... ...And maybe allow vendors to move around and feel like they are apart of the world or social space. ... ... ...And maybe include them as a part of the overall narrative in the campaign so we can get to know them as characters. ... ... ... ...And maybe.... Man. The potential.

At rank 50 you should get the exotic quest line for NLB on EDZ.
-
4 RepliesAre there any vendors that don't?
-
Dev Kay should grant you an exotic ghost “the buttplugger” it would reveal hidden caches on any planet, provided you’re lubed up
-
No just no.

Edited by TheTommieC: 7/7/2018 6:53:22 PMThat would be the easiest way to level. I would have been max power level within an hour of a DLC drop..

Rewarding gameplay? For free? Naah

6 RepliesEvery vendor should have their own unique armor and weapons. And have them change every season, not just reskin. So much missed potential with this game
-
Make the rewards drop at a level that's equal to yours with a purple mod on. It doesn't boost your level, but it doesn't get immediately dismantled.
-
3 RepliesThis used to be a thing in D1. It was called Rep and you got rep packages for leveling up that particular faction. The tokens in D2 are supposed to be what replaced this... but I honestly hate it, and feel the original rep system should return.
-
Edited by HiredArson: 7/7/2018 7:59:55 AMNot only this but add an exclusive exotic that's only available through that activity. Example.. one for strikes only. One from quickplay crucible. One from ep. Etc...

8 RepliesI want you to realize that this post is just asking for an arbitrary number to be placed above an npcs head. The vendors already give rewards when you level up There's just no number indicating what level you're on
-
Can’t wait to level up with Tess.
-
Yes I miss this from d1 as well. Also in addition to bringing that I don’t think it should be reset seasonally. Maybe yearly at most. Preferably never.
-
12 RepliesWhat would be the reward for getting Tess Everis to level 50?
-
I’ve got hundred of coins, thousands of weapon parts along with over 1K of shards and nothing to do with them.
-
I agree
-
No point till they will add re-roll system.
-
Aka D1.

This.
