I loved the RoI artifacts .
Why did they remove this system?
Imagine giving up your super for +3 to all 3 stats and 2x grenade and melee and class ability.
Or being able to reflect energy based projectiles with your bubble/sentinel shield/barricade and sword block...
Being able to (have a chance to) turn enemies that you melee /enemies that walk through your rift/barricade.
Improved radar back to D1 range and track enemies you damage for 5 seconds....
(And a new one i just thought off...)
Removes your class ability usage....but your grenades and super last 20% longer.
And they should not be made with light level....they could even be a mod/catalyst for your ghost.....

Bungies dumb thinking....ok let's give em artifacts...that reduce ammo drops....reduce damage output...removes radar....ya know make ya guardian weaker..thats D2s catch phrase...reduce guardians to dust...... D2 destiny isn't capable of releasing D1 destiny fun....
-
Yeah if they are interesting and good like the iron lore ones.
-
I really wish they bring them back. Don't know why they took them out.
-
i want them back as long as they dont affect Power Levels

Edited by MrPlebiusMaximus: 7/3/2018 4:42:17 AMArtifacts were great and really opened up player customization so that your guardian felt more different and unique from the ones next to it. Unfortunately Destiny lost a lot of its best rpg elements transitioning to D2, apparently in hopes to be more of an MLG online shooter (they certainly tried at least).

Coming to an eververse package near you.

1 ReplyArtifacts are technically the original mod system. It needs to come back along with actual weapon mods that are seperate to weapon perks. +5 light on a weapon has not modified the weapon in any way, it’s just increased its power which is essentially meaningless in d2. The mod system should incorporate the masterwork system and a masterwork system should be introduced that increases variety even more. Then re work armor mods and masterworks and add artifacts and actual customisable skill trees that would mean actual builds. I’d love the explosive throwing knife (as useless as both variants are) on the precision golden gun set up. I like to use it to keep pve and in pvp (sometimes) to keep hiding enemies from recovering while a cheeky reload takes place. Can use it like an explosive payload shot.

I would love them back

As long as they don't affect your Power Level - Sure.
-
Yup they were decent

2 RepliesEdited by whiteLI0N: 6/30/2018 8:56:42 PMAt a certain point you just have to accept that you are making these requests because D1 was more fun, and you are trying to bring that fun into D2. Be it random weapon roles for grinding, exotic vendor marks, fun heroic strikes, awesome artifact perks, an interesting class tree, and the ability to have a sniper, a rocket launcher, and a scout/auto equipped all at once... just understand that D2 is D2. Bringing any of that stuff back will not make D2 as good as D1. They just messed up bad, and you will only get that D1 feel again if they make D3 the right way.

1 ReplyI would like them back as long as they aren’t tied to light level.

Only ones I cared about were the Iron Lord artifacts.

Yes!!!!

18 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 7/1/2018 7:23:37 PMThere is a lot of things Bungie removed that I'm sure many are not happy about. I Just don't get how the higher-ups can't grasp the concept of sticking with what works in the game and move forward from there. (The constant changing things) have ruined this game. New gamers have no idea unless they played D1 and seen what D1 actually offered, and I'm referring to the talent that created D1 vanilla before it was chopped up to sell in pieces here and there that D2 is getting D1 content that doesn't tie in the game at all. You know what's interesting about Bungie? They spent 4 years telling the community managers to tell the community "they're listening' when the entire time their actions have always shown otherwise. Does Bungie not understand that if they are going to change things that looking for legit feedback about the changes before they take place would be the logical thing to do? An example would be setting up a survey like some other companies do to help the devs make some choices to improve things in their game and the devs actually give feedback to the player base. You know, this thing called communicating? Content creators, Streamers, YouTubers are Not the entire player base and Bungie needs to stop acting like they are the Only ones that have feedback that can improve the game. IMO they have helped the higher destroy the concept of this game. For Destiny, the logical thing to do that would have benefited this community and the entire player was to get that feedback before Bungie was working on D2. Edit: Whats pure BS right now is knowing Luke of all people is working on D3 and None of your feedback has been asked for, nor will it ever be asked for. So whats the point of asking for feedback if the company ignore the player base? These are the things they should have been asking the player base before they applied it while working on D2 and after it was released. I mean, they have avoided optional matchmaking for 4 years now. Why knowing there would be nothing wrong with it adding it to nightfall. Why does this company (consistently avoid) things the player base has requested that would benefit a hell of a lot of gamers playing their game??? Things that should have been asked before the changes were made. Loadouts Perks Random rolls Grime cards Factions Ammo Exotics Quest PvP game modes and team modes Edit: This is for the PvP gamers whether you like Halo 5 or not, it has nothing to do with what I'm referring to. 343 sets ups survey for gamers and other ways for them to give them feedback. This means you get a chance to have your voice heard. They ask the player base what game mods, maps etc they like and take the feedback and apply it to the game. This means the playlist will change without asking you to buy an "expansion." or have you wait 7 long A** months just to get an update. (Seriously, I want to know why does it take an update so damn long just to have supremacy removed as if this company is doing you a favor? Meanwhile, 343 does it within a reasonable time. Hmm... This is the nonsense I see coming from this company when in fact PvP game mods and team mods don't need a 7-month long wait just to get an update to have them changed. (Especially knowing 343 changes game modes and team modes once a month if not more.) IMO the higher-ups (need) to be removed from this game. It shouldn't take so damn long just to get small updates for PvP or this company facking it making it look like its so damn hard for them to ask gamers what would they like to see happen with PvP. 343 has already shown it doesn't take much to change a playlist... I understand why PvE takes time but if they are going to play this card... "PvP content is easier to create" Then WTH is up with the sandbox??? especially knowing Bungie said they made things "easier" for them than D1.

I did, but idgaf anymore.

They removed them... no D2 never had any of the D1 improvements. Most of D2 is cut content or recycled stuff from D1. It was thrown together back in D1 Y1 and they never bothered to update it as D1 Y2 got good. If you think of D1 and D2 as one game ... then you get what they talked about in the Destiny vidoc years ago. What Jason and Marty talked about and ultimately why they left/got fired over. The OG bungie group wanted an epic massive ever changing world. Activision wanted a cash grab every year. That should sum up why D2 is garbage. Now we got ex game testers and ex community managers as lead devs. They even state how they make decisions based off their "6 year old niece". What a joke
-
Bungie literally removed every improvement they made during D1, and the result was D2.

1 ReplyI want an artifact that unlocks the endgame

1 ReplyI just want my sprint cooldown removed.
I never payed attention in D2 if there is a sprint cooldown.
5 RepliesEdited by The Outlaw Torn: 7/2/2018 2:10:11 AMThings they changed, removed, or made worse: Artifacts. A far superior weapon system. Infusion from any source. Exotics, strike specific loot, and faction packages that were guaranteed to be above our light level. Powerful rocket launchers with tracking and bigger magazines. Machine guns. Why? Just why? Armor perks. Intellect/Discipline/Strength. Fast ability cooldown times. Random rolls. Sparrow horns. A lot of options for private games. Bounties. Daily/Weekly heroic story. Selectable missions/strikes from the director. Good heroic/nightfall modifiers. Sunsinger. 😢 A better Ward of Dawn. Tons of good skills.(Combustion, Death From Above, etc.) Complex skill trees. Mobility/Armor/Recovery adjustments in the skill trees, where they belong. Elemental weapons, and supers don't penetrate shields to get crits anymore. So, now shielded enemies take 2 sniper shots with unmatched elements, and with matched elements, you don't get crits either. The enemy dies from the shield explosion. The shield explosion should come after the bullet has gone through the shield and gotten a crit. The enemy should die from a headshot. Golden Gun is weak without Celestial Nighthawk, doesn't penetrate shields, and doesn't last long enough. Nova Bomb has almost no splash damage or blast radius, like in D1. There's no Shatter or Lance option either. Fist of Havoc is weak. Stormtrance is weak. Grenades and melee are weak. The Shadow shot tether suppression doesn't activate immediately, like in D1. PvP is the worst it's ever been, and it's still not separate from PvE, so the franchise suffers. Infinite use shaders. Sword ammo reserves, and ammo reserves in general. D2 has the Juggler modifier on all the time. Heavy ammo synthesis. The better nightfalI system from D1. Good Scatter grenades. Awesome looking armor and class items. The D1 vendor and faction systems. Raid ships and sparrows. Strike specific loot. Fun. I'm sure there's more.

2 RepliesEdited by HollowedWayfarer: 7/2/2018 7:32:48 AMI’ve recently developed a concept similar to Artifacts if you’d like to give it a look. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/246751920?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=0

3 RepliesBy the end of RoI special iron lord artifacts were irrelevant to the majority of the player base.

I would like them back ONLY if they don't tie in power level. The fact that bungie made them effect your light sucked. Otherwise, they were great.
