Initial loading is fine. choosing a character and a first destination is fine. After playing for an indeterminate amount of time, if i go into a loading screen, whether to another location, a cut-scene, or to matchmaking for my next session in PVP or Strike playlist, the screen just freezes.
Sometimes I am able to kill the process through task manager but some times even that doesn't work and I have to sign out of windows or restart my system to end the process.
System specs:
EVGA GTX 1080 icx
32 GB DDR4 2400
intel i7 7700k
kingston 1tb SSD (NEW and error free)
Windows 10 pro (64 bit)
Things i have tried:
-Boarder-less windowed mode (i pretty much always set games this way anyways.)
-Fullscreen
-Windowed mode
-Lower than native resolution
-Turning down all settings to high or even medium (down form ultra/custom)
-Installing all windows updates and driver updates for hardware
-Keeping battle.net open in the background.
-Closing everything except destiny
-Shutting off nvidia shadow play (This did not work but even if it did it is not a permanent fix as i need this for my you tube channel)
-Re installing the entire game (multiple times)
-Running the game and battle.net as Administrator
-Restarting my system before opening the game
Nothing seems to resolve this. So I can usually play for about 30 minutes before having to force close the game or sign out of windows. Unless i just go to patrol and never leave that planet. then i can play for hours. It only happens on loading screens.

I have this same issue but I did not have the issue a few weeks ago. Super annoying!!

1 ReplyI have exactly same issue. Always happen when I’m in loading screen after finish a mission/strike and end of a crucible match. Sometimes it happens when I’m alt+tab. Most annoying thing is that you can not go to task manager, only way is to sign out of windows or restart pc. My pc got the latest windows update and gpu drivers. Got a i7 8700k, 16gb ram and 1080ti.

17 RepliesIts also worth noting i don't have issues like this with any other game. Even my excessively modded fallout 4 runs fine.
