1 ReplyThey are a cheap knockoff of a gravemind.

There are worm 🐛 gods that are hive gods. Eris Morn. There are wyrm gods that grant dragon 🐉 wishes. Ahamkara. Lord shax and Zavala.

10 Replies<Oh NOW people are hoping the Worm Gods are worms... jesus where were you people a while ago. I thought I was the only person arguing this topic.>

7 RepliesEdited by piratepatchy243: 4/25/2018 7:49:44 AMWe fought in a dead one, idk if the dreadnaught is exactly what they look like though. Edit: Wasn't completely correct, only part of Akka was used so they're -blam!-ing huge.

7 RepliesAss worms are the worst, especially the huge ones.

Edited by Golden: 4/28/2018 1:41:51 AMNah fam they are those worms you saw in the dreadnought but now with armor
Reskinned worms

Kek
Uh.. to some yes, they are worms, but it depends on what you are refering to.. The ahmakara are dragons, and place their young wyrms in the hive gods to grant their wishes. I am assuming there are other worms though that the hive worship, which would be true /worm/ gods.

Yup giant scary worm monsters. You’ve got it right in your mind buddy.

5 RepliesNo. The wormgods are small. The Hive "eat" them and they live symbiotically. The Hive who eat them are sort of in debt to the wormgod for their power. They have to complete certain tasks (if you want to say it that way) in order to "feed" the god inside of them, or they die. Look up the Books of Sorrow - it's basically the history of the Hive. This is my favorite source: http://www.ishtar-collective.net/

Why does this have down votes? I'm not a fan of the current state of the game at all and will voice that opinion but this is just a legitimate lore question.

16 RepliesI believe they are more akin to dragons/serpents. In Destiny lore, there were dragons called Ahmkara, which had similar capabilities to worms. The Ahmkara (before they suffered extinction at the hands of Guardians) would grant you power at a price (not money, something much more sinister). Worm gods give the Hive power, but in return they require the user to wage war, kill, and destroy. Long story short, the Ahmkara and worm gods could be one in the same. Who knows, though, maybe we’ll fight an Alaskan bull worm.

They’re lawyers (with apologies to Ambulance crews.)
huge ass worrms
... OH GOD X)

Well, yeah, but... worms can infest other creatures, like any hive worm. So you might see a huge ahamkara or even the leviathan from the book of sorrows taken over by the worm gods. We don't know exact details regarding the sizes these different creatures can get.

2 RepliesYes WORMgods are WORMS

2 RepliesThe highest ones on the food chain could look like anything they want I would suppose.

1 ReplyFor anyone out there that remembers, the mission Wakening in The Dark Below(DLC1 of D1), showed huge bones all around where Crota’s soul was being summoned back to our realm. The remains of a hive worm god perhaps, since the remains sure look like a giant dead worm/snake/basilisk.
-
No. They were giant arse wyrms.

The sea monster on Titan is most likely a worm, you can see its shape through the window in the New Pacific Arcology place. It looks very similar to the shadow in the Warmind trailer.... Also as someone else mentioned, there were 2 missions in Destiny 1 where you went to a place on the moon with bones laying around in the shape of a giant worm....
