Gothalion, Luckyy and Buttwipe, True Vanguard, MTashed and Slayerage have reported the event was open, transparent and positive for the future of Destiny 2.
Summary of upcoming DLC:
* Fall (September) DLC looks amazing and will likely bring back the game as the hobby we all miss. There will be replayability
* DLC 2 Warmind looks slightly better than CoO.
If you want to wait and see for the Fall DLC before purchasing that’s logical but it looks exciting.
Please feel free to add comments and discussion.
Edit: to all the people choosing to be negative. Remember it’s about the future and moving towards a positive shared experience. If you’re not being positive about the potential to FIX THE THINGS WE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT, then why are you here complaining about those likely fixes?
Edit 2: The updates will improve both original D2 games without DLCs and for new DLC owners (September DLC 3 especially). It’ll be like try the changes before you buy new content. Also added new Streamer names.
Edit 3: The NDA covers the he said she said bullshit for features that could be discussed but we’re changed (and they can discuss them after releases of said DLC). Both Bungie, Activision and the streamers don’t want false impressions and fake news. It’s be dissapointing if people don’t get what they think they’re gonna get or it be underwhelming in the lead up when the DLC is actually good.
Edit 4: T1_Riot is probably the nicest guy on the planet and is always positive and polite. Hire this guy to moderate for forums imo...
Edit 5: you don’t need to buy the September DLC to get the fixed and changes. The DLC is about new content, the roadmap is about core game issues. It’s gonna get better guardians for free... no payment necessary.

Anyone that falls for BUNGIE'S BULLSH#T, again, deserves to be ripped off. The game sucks. It sucked when it was released. It still sucks now, 6 months later. To wait A YEAR for a sequel to be as good as it's predecessor is pretty unacceptable. To ask ppl to pay more money for DLC, to play the game in a state that should it have released in originally... is downright Forrest Gump levels of -blam!-! The September DLC should be free, as a apology to the 80%+ of players that bought this abortion and stopped playing it when we realised how shallow and empty it really is. Not going to happen though. They're a business. A business that needs to prove to Activision that they can still be profitable. Whatever happens, come Sept DLC time... I'm out. D2 has left such a nasty aftertaste in my mouth, that I'm done with the franchise. Gonna play the Warmind DLC (yes, I was stupid enough to buy the Season Pass) because I already paid for it, but then I'm done. 🖕 this game.

1 ReplyI believe they will fix it in the fall honestly. The problem which is truly unfortunate is that means $130-140 before we are to where the game should have been from the start(resetting the game in general was a cash grab too). My main friends I play with and many I know are just feeling burnt by bungie and this “$40 DLC is going to be awesome” just is the salt on the open wound. I wish I could say I would definitely be there if it’s amazing but unfortunately at this point they have formed a pattern and not a good one of broken products with double to triple the costs in DLC until it is fixed. A pattern of burning the player-base and then fixing it until they start burning the player base again for money. They can’t seem to find a balance between profits and a good sustainable model and happy playerbase in honesty. Also they can’t deliver on the simplest QOL request in a reasonable amount of time. The trust is broken and this constant we will fix it for the next dlc is becoming the norm which is not acceptable. Other titles that have made this large of missteps offered free small DLC to restore faith or bring people back but not bungie. No acts of good faith really at all other than fixing the broken product. Even small updates fixing broken product have taken months. There is an arrogance almost displayed by their actions over the last year. I know that this DLC won’t be a game changer though I hoped it will generate some drive to play the game and bring something to change my mind. Unfortunately I am sure it won’t and everything is preparing for the fall expansion and if that is the case I will finally give up along with my friends. Many will buy it but I would bet a good chunk of long time players will not and just continue off into the new player bases we have begun to join in the wake of hurricane D2 Y1. Many have already drifted away and if a large price tag comes with getting back into the game many are just going to write the game off. It’s a shame for what the game could have become.

1 ReplyHow can the game improve if it's always going backwards? Those idiots are looking out for themselves and wanting to make cash off this game again.

“I Want if for free and I want it now because my parents told me that is something doesn’t live up to my expectations I deserve compensation”

1 question Why should a single soul here care about what streamers - who are hurting from D2 only being in the top 40 on twitch - say is going to be good or will change? These are the exact same people who claimed D2 was gonna be amazing pre-launch. Well that didn't last long did it.

4 RepliesIf anyone gets hyped for the next 2 DLCs they are just straight up stupid.

1 ReplyEdited by qpMaverickqp: 4/23/2018 4:56:15 PMRoflmao, dude. Mtashed recently posted a video praising 6 man rumble because he could hold down an area and he could control heavy. These a$sholes are simply looking out for their own interests. Furthermore there is nothing they could have said that hasn't already been said throughout the community. Make it worse these are mostly the same idiots they invited to the pre launch event prior to D2 release. Why would you assume they contributed anything meaningful now when they failed so spectacularly back then? Most of them are selling the same bullshit. Hey there are some nice changes coming in may, but i am really looking forward to September and the nrw gane mode bla bla bla. That's the entire point of this event, to get the hype train rolling for September. But since bungie knows noone will be impressed with the warmind shit and so are trying to temper expectations. Nobody has paid for September dlc so it is tume to start hyping it. Don't get caught up in the hype. Think about it, you really think bungie is happy to open all pvp maps to the non dlc communitt? Of course not, but at this point they will try just about anything to bring people back and hype the sale of their September dlc. That is all that event was

Maybe some of us are choosing to be negative, but it’s weird to me that they only answered like, 5% if that, of the people who played the game. They let community members ask public questions, but won’t give public answers other than apparent improvements they’re making.
-
You mean the same folks that hyped the game up before launch and abandoned it? Now they’re back to hyping it up after meeting with bungie? Naaaaaah I’m good on listening to them, I’ll see the stream myself tomorrow

69 RepliesEdited by nazz: 4/22/2018 7:14:05 PMQuestion for haters. What if the September DLC is the point it all gets fixed? Will you buy it?
-
Shame they can only put the fixes we need in place in time for the next content we have to pay for. By their own admission the next DLC is not going to be much better than CoO, is this because a large number of players have already paid for it so there's no gain for Bungie?

19 RepliesEdited by BarretOblivion: 4/23/2018 12:56:15 AMIts quite hilarious why people wonder why Bungie doesn't really look at the forums that much. The replies are the reason. No matter what evidence you give the forums that there is a slight chance Destiny 2 could be getting better they immediately push it aside as "hype" only. Question is why are any of these people even on the forums, likely just to troll at this point. Reddit has its fair share of trolls but its objectionable. There is a term cautiously optimistic and that is what I and all of my clan mates who want to come back to D2 are right now. The term it was a "marketing move" is somewhat true but its clear that wasn't the main intention. People love to ignore how Ubisoft did it with the Division and it worked fairly well. Plus a lot of the people they pulled in are brutally honest by the series if you even do a tiny bit of research. Not all of them are Mesa Sean. Mtashed was fairly brutal about loot, Gothalion has ALWAYS been brutal towards Bungie and is not D2 streamer soley anymore. He is still a Borderlands guy. The other issue is that fact there are so many conflicting opinions on the forums and reddit. One may post a great idea on reddit and it receives praise, while on the forums people just ignore the post and flock to bashing posts. Small changes and no "duh" requests are all that I see on the forums, at the very least Reddit tries. The issue is because of this Bungie has no real solid idea what the game wants/needs to be to evolve besides some things people are asking for. Even if they did change the loot system, reduce TTK, randomized rolls, Destiny 2 will still only be just as good as D1. No one seems to want what Bungie's goal is... to make D2 better than D1. No one speaks about the lack of ingenuity in the changes to prestige modes, no one talks about the lack of interesting world changes in the patrols, no one talks about adventures lacking in rewards or reasons to do them, no one speaks about the lack of a coherent end game besides getting to max gear, no one is talking about the lack of strike boss complexity, no one is talking about how the subclasses lack focus and complexity. I could keep going but no one will likely read any of it on here.

1 ReplyEdited by BCFre: 4/23/2018 6:23:54 PMThe main issue I have with the summit is that they invited a bunch if children who basically have the conceptual vision of frogs. Frankly, I haven’t seen or heard anything from any of them that suggest they are capable of providing solid feedback. I’m pretty concerned that Bungie is willing to entertain the idea that these people can help guide the game to where it needs to be, much less actually invite them to a “summit” where they invest my hopes for the future of Destiny in these idiots. If you want to have a productive summit, maybe you should invite creative visionaries who have been through the process of developing a critically successful game.

bungie is incompetent... they couldnt even properly manage d1, they had their excuses for 3 years. d2 was their redemption. and well they failed. and they kept failing managing d2...... go away with your forced positivity, propaganda thats what this is. you have nothing to say, nothing you can prove, nothing to show AND YOU PREACH POSITIVITY! did you forget what bungie lied about towards this community? how they managed their game? d1 was carried on the back of loyal community members, with hopes and dreams for the future of this game. the community spoke about their wishes.. here are 2 wishes. seperated pve/pvp dedicated servers what did bungie do? THEY SHAT ON IT! they also made fun of their community on multiple occasions. AND HERE YOU ARE PAID BY BUNGIE TO SAY, hey guys this next stuff is gonna be cool. go buy it. from a developer that said "creating content is too hard"..... you joined the ranks of the lying developer. they think that the community are all idiots and are going to believe your words, and your other invited summit members words..... thats an insult.. bungie doesnt need a summit. bungie needs to get the original team back on destiny. they need to get their shit together. they need to stop thinking about money, and think about an awesome game money will follow after.

3 RepliesCool. Took them 3 and a half years to finally give us what we want rather then tell us what we want. Can’t wait to be disappointed by warmind. Can’t wait for everyone talk about how great comet is in the fall without talking about how you have to spend 140 dollars just to have a decent playable game. Bungie is a joke.

1 ReplyEdited by Penhalion Wolfe: 4/23/2018 10:35:31 AMI know it's harsh but, a lot of us simply don't give a fig what these "community reps" have to say about a summit that basically was a lot of Bungie people nodding and looking interested. If this had been a real attempt to fix the game then they would have done something similar to a Digital Extremes Dev stream. Shown the upcoming changes to everyone and asked for feedback. It's actually that simple. Why there would be ANY secrecy about what mechanics are coming to the game is ludicrous. No-one is asking for story or quest details. No-one is asking Bungie to reveal new enemies (if they have bothered to design any). They just need to start showing people what QoL and gameplay changes and fixes are being worked on. Then they can get first hand player feedback as to if the majority of the community is for or against! There's no rocket science involved in this process. The issue Bungie have is that they think showing people what Mods 2.0 will look like or showing us what changes they are looking at making for feature X or Y will somehow remove the mystery. What frakking mystery?! The only suprise will be when we react poorly to the introduction of these new systems that just land on our doorstep in September. Especially as Bungie will have had 6 months to have shown and gotten feedback on them and simply chose not to even bother! This shows that the companies mentality of "We know best what you want" is still very much alive and kicking. It's like the last 6 months didn't happen!

BORDERLANDS 3 will rise across the harvest like a Reaper and in one flail swoop of the sickle, everything will fall..........

1 ReplyTransparent? Do you see any developers making their voices heard here? What. The. -blam!-. Are you talking about.
-
2 RepliesHoly shit people. Most of you are so damn gullible. D2 is f*cked to hell right now, has been since launch. Did anybody that was invited out there even ask how in the world the game could have been launched the way it was?????? If not, then you wasted a perfect opportunity. How does the player base have any confidence that the game will improve based on all the months they had to put into the dev of D2 and then the way it played at launch? Most of the sane people on here are correct, this was simply a marketing and hype session for the most popular streamers that USED to play Destiny. It's nothing more than that. I do hope the game can get back to what D2 was in year 1 and 2, but I have little to NO faith in Bungie's ability to do so.
-
2 RepliesSlightly better that tells me either A mars is gonna end up with poor desing/replay ablity choices like mercury and B poor story campaigne which idk how they can -blam!- that up even tho they shouldn't. 😐
-
“Don’t be negative.” Yep - only happy happy thoughts allowed!
-
2 Repliessome streamers will obviously oversell it due to the fact they are getting paid to play this game. hopefully one of these "content creators" actually tells them how it is and explains what they experience first hand before us. no one likes having high hopes just to be dissapointent.
-
19 RepliesWhat’s ‘transparent’ about it? Seems NDA’s will prevent any useful information actually getting to us, the community. So what are we going to get? Oh yeah, all these people, who mutually benefit from Destiny being popular, hyping the fall expansion. . The same people that couldn’t even admit to their viewers what a shitshow D2 was, until even they couldn’t keep up the charade any longer. The same people that as soon as they got invited to the ‘summit’, jumped back to streaming D2 like good little monkeys, trying to pretend that the game has miraculously become fun. It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.
-
2 Replies"Slightly better"? So overall D2 is better used as a coaster. Got it!
-
29 RepliesEdited by Penhalion Wolfe: 4/22/2018 9:02:38 PMIt's interesting that they are reporting positive things for the fall DLC when nothing from that actually exists outside of little proof of concepts. In all seriousness this is exactly what we all feared i.e. the streamers all hyping up the vapourware that Bungie described to them. I remember the wise words of that IGN guy after the crap that was D2 finally opened his eyes. I'll paraphrase as I don't remember his exact words (go read his stuff for that). The gist of his comment was "I wish I hadn't believed the hype when they promised to fix all of the issues that we encountered during the demo of the game. They fixed one of them and none of the promises materialised". I guess it's a case of fool me once shame on me. The journalists are pretty hard to fool now as they will have looked at the coming Fall promises and just said meh! So what do you do in that situation? You show it to people who still have rose tinted specs on and are still open to believing the smoke an mirror presentations that one can pull of when on home ground. *sigh

for all the people choosing to be negative
Remember the Bungie White Knight Defenders labeled people who spoke up about the Beta as “negative” and told to “adapt” The Summit was nothing but a publicity stunt because Activision and Bungie are desperate to sell DLC now that they know public trust has eroded in both of these companies. Posts like these are FAKE NEWS designed to hype products that have proven to be low quality, misleading and even false advertising.
