I'm with you on Pacific Rim. It's so bad, but it's so awesome at the same time (let me know what the new one's like). And is it me or does Charlie Hunnam seem to pop up everywhere these days?
Others...
Edge of Tomorrow. I actually think it's a pretty good film. Not amazing but I love it for what it is. Many don't...but end of the day, if nothing else, Emily Blunt
Elysium. Fun sci-fi. I like fun sci-fi.
Oblivion. As above (odd that's the second Tom Cruise movie, and I generally don't like him), but also with a brief appearance from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (I think that was the first time I recognised him in something outside of GoT)
Passengers. Yeah I know, there's a theme here. I got some real sht off some of my mates for recommending this, but screw them, I liked it. Except the whole swimming pool bit, which annoyed me cos science.
Trollhunter. It's found footage (urgh) but I thought it was pretty creepy for a film in that genre that was very different from the usual ghost/UFO/bigfoot etc approach.
Sharknado. Cos...you know...sharks in a tornado. And it's so funny.
Mega Python Vs. Gataroid. Right, I know, but seeing Tiffany and Debbie Gibson fighting in a swamp, then stopping and Tiffany saying 'I think we're alone now', followed by Debbie Gibson saying 'there doesn't seem to be anyone around' was pure vintage cheddar, the likes of which we rarely see.

<I actual like Edge of Tomorrow, too. I never saw Elysium. I have a VERY faint memory of Oblivion now that you bring it up. I don't like Passengers. OK let me specify. I don't like it AFTER he woke her up. Sharknado was funny. I really don't know if it was intentional or not. Do the producers know the formula for making a movie so bad that people just have to laugh at it? It's almost as ridiculous as half the deaths in a Final Destination film. I haven't seen the other two. I'm just interested in other people's reasons. Also because I might give some a watch.>
