When you get shot or damaged in most fps games, the screen shakes or becomes blurred etc... This is obviously a way to tell the player very clearly that they are taking dmg, as well as make the dmg feel more real. I think that's fine.
In D2 however, the screen tends to "shake" A LOT even when you're not taking damage. This mainly happens when a shot lands near you (but doesn't hit/damage you) or when some sort of explosion occurs near you (but doesn't hit/damage you).
Again, I understand that this makes the explosions/"near hits" feel more real,
but IN MY OPINION:
1. it's misleading - the camera behaves in the same way as if I get shot. (yes I can look at my health bar but when the whole screen shakes I instinctively feel like I'm getting hit).
2. it just turns every fight into a flippin' rave - its difficult to enjoy the game when the screen is constantly having orgasms
My suggestion:
Let players enable/disable camera shake that occurs when they are not taking dmg.
If this is difficult to do when it comes to programming (a subject of which I know nothing about) you could alternatively let players turn off camera shake entirely. Similarly to controller vibration, I would rather turn it off completely than having my screen shake every 2 seconds.
I might be the only one to have this oppinion (highly doubt it). let me know
(Destiny 2 is an epic game)
