Sounds like an over-saturated job market. Be an engineer

  • Been looking at engineering as well. Problem is, I'm not sure I'd enjoy the work. I'm terrified I'm going to spend all this time and money to get a job I'm gonna hate. Money isn't much of a determining factor, cuz a third or more of my life at that point is going to be spent at work, another third asleep. That small window of "my" time isn't enough to justify the amount of time I spend hating my job.

  • See the thing about a degree like engineering is that many of the classes are the same across the board. For example, I plan on getting a degree in Computer Intergrated Machining. Most of the classes in my program could be transfered to another program such as mechanical or civil engineering. When picking a degree, try to pick something that will always be in need. For all of time, someone will need someone else to build something.

  • That's why computer tech sort of piqued my interest as well. Everybody's got some kind of tech nowadays.
