At this point destiny 3 might as well not even be a thought, d2 needs serious attention ASAP, devs should be all hands on deck to fix this mess, not worry about the next game 2-3 years away. Whatever the size of the live team is is clearly not enough.

1 ReplyEdited by MC_3_TTV: 2/7/2018 6:27:59 PMD2 is too broken to fix and bungie agreed to a terrible contract so D3 has to release in 2019 whether we want it or not

1 ReplyEdited by Iccotak: 2/6/2018 1:09:04 PMCouldn't have said it better myself than Jimquisition. "If they can't keep up with the demand they fan the flames for, then it's their own damn fault." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kIPNckHDN8 Anyone remember; "It's too hard to make content" Destiny never lived up to its demo from all those years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3FIVbfTdT0 Sequels shouldn't be a thing with this game considering all the time player out in for grind. It should be proper MMO or ever developing instance co-op game. Seriously, If Destiny 1 was available for PC I would buy it. No question. Destiny 1 Expansion: The Red War, also now coming to PC "sounds good to me"

1 ReplyThe fact that they start working on D3 now is probably a good thing. If Bungie is not completely insane ( big qualification, I know) then they will hopefully take all the D 2 “lessons learned” ( Random rolls, dedicated servers, special weapons, movement, 6v6, etc. etc.) and incorporate them into D3 from the get go. D2 was probably started before TTK and ROI, which were the 2 best expansions in D1 (IMO) when they were still trying to figure out what worked best. So there are directions that were taken early, which are probably very hard to modify or back out of now. That is speculation, though, somebody out there could probably expand more on this, and knows more about it than I do. Hopefully the end result of this is D3 is more like D1, I don’t think they are ever going to be able to get D2 to what players are looking for, no matter how many patches and changes. D3 maybe, if they take the current lessons to heart. The lesson I learned is not to pre-order. I will not pre-order D3, but will wait and see for a month or so, to get real feedback. Also, Bungie should give out a free DLC to help restore some fan base, giving away free stuff is generally a successful tactic .

2 Replies1. Bungie has a contract, D3 will happen whether you like it or not. 2. It's common practice for game devs to begin working on new games way earlier than most people normally expect. These are massive projects, if they want to finish the game in time to keep up with their schedule they have to start as soon as they can begin allocating resources to the project.. If we want our feedback to be heard and worked into the initial design of D3 NOW is the time to talk.

Pros and Cons Pros An early start means a longer development time and hopefully and better end product. Cons Anything created on the older versions of Destiny ie.: D2 that occur after the fork in development will probably not make it into the final product unless they happen early enough. Conclusion If D3 has already started development now then anything after this point in time that goes in D2 will probably not make it into D3. So I suspect we will end up with another rewrite. The proof is in the D1 to D2 pudding! Just a another little bit of history repeating!

40 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 2/6/2018 12:29:04 AMBungie has a contract with Activision so they have no choice but to start working on it. But, what they do have a choice about is... Find a lead that actually has experience. Destiny doesn't need a man thinking this game needs 4 years old's to understand it. Stop trashing content in mid production leaving no time to create a game Stick with one damn team that know WTH is going on with this game. The live team should have been creating this sequel and that is a fact. They had a feel for the game and could have create a sequel that was 10 times better then this lazy pushed out product For the love of whoever, get your damn company properly managed. It's such a huge mess it's no wonder D2 is such a huge mess as well Find a new lead for the sandbox. 7 months to get an update? As if the man didn't screw D1 up as it was with thinking nerfing the most popular was called "balance" Build a foundation and work from there. This constant changing the game is gotten so stupid that Bungie lost 3+ million in player base. This game doesn't need 50 different leveling systems among the other stupid changes in this game. Get you act together Bungie... Lean how to actually communicate with your player base. Bungie literally has no clue what to do but Lie and that isn't helping anyone at all. If Bungie was a smart company they would put a muzzle on Luke smith. This man runs his mouth so much it's pathetic that he is lead. Any respectful AAA gaming company that has respect for themselves and the player base would have done this years ago. Stop using Eververse as "we created more content for the game" Hog Wash There many options this company has to creating this game. The problem is, they don't take action on doing the right things for the company let alone the game.

Bungie wants us to know there working to have time to produce a great game. Then as usual 6 months before release they will reboot all they've worked on and put out a another 6 month developed game.
-
1 ReplyGood for you. I whole heartily agree! D3!?! Should be DP! Bungie, you should know after the first two entries into this franchise... I got no holes left to fill!

Because many people lost hope in D2 and think it can't be saved.
-
Investors run... this game is 💩
-
A lot of what’s wrong with d2 is fundamental changes from d1 like subclass simplification, static rolls, and the 2 primary system. Sad to say it but I think destiny needs another reboot to fix itself.

Edited by CatMan: 2/7/2018 4:13:03 AMThe more I think about it, the more I think we should talk about D3. Bungie took a huge chance changing up the game the way they did in D2. Luke came out cocky as if D2 was something groundbreaking and bungies arrogance got the best of them(the heads, not the devs). They were counting on you all blindly following and not looking too deep into things...ooooh ho ho they were wrong. I feel like the only reasons they are listening now is: 1)player count/stocks/sales/etc are drowning them 2) some of the devs got together and applied pressure. Let us do our jobs! We know what they want and we agree! Etc Now that you, the community, have shown (-blam!-ing finally) that you are not to be -blam!-ed with (proud of you) maybe they will actually listen and take feedback for destiny 3. Maybe we can help them. And I don't blame anyone who has given up. I uninstalled D2...it's just taking up space on my hard drive at the moment. I'll reinstall when it's been confirmed by the community that the game is worth playing again. .....as Eververse I've lost all credibility haven't I?.....I leave now.

Cuz they are that is how the company works. You see their game engine is straight up shite. So they either have to a) make a new engine for D3 or b) start D3 now to iron out all the problems that come with working with a shite engine. Personally, I would develop the engine. Having a good foundation for creating a game is very important. But bungie shot callers are not the sharpest blades in the arsenal.

3 RepliesEdited by mpuchar: 2/5/2018 3:15:03 PMBecause d2 is too far gone. Lets hope they learn from their mistakes for d3 and go back to dynamic rolls, primary/special/heavy, space magic, end game to reach max light, titan skating/warlock surfing, blessings/wol, faster ttk, customizable skill trees, everything that made d1 great, that they threw in the trash for d2
-
It’s a 10 year game! 3 tokens and a blue! Look at these dance moves! You get 3 chests when you kill this boss!
-
Donkey punch to the fart box.
-
Bungie probably feels like D2 can't truly be saved. So they are writing it off as failure and moving on.
-
Because 3 comes after 2.

Edited by Uriyaal: 2/6/2018 2:31:06 PMi just started playing d2, maybe 2 weeks at most now? the point im getting to is tons of us said this during d1 and look what happened a bunch of people jumped on the d2 bandwagon.. i can understand people jumping on the d1 bandwagon...but now you're all just insane. if you played d1 and are still QQ about d2 well then : you are insane. partial definition of insanity = doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. d3 is going to happen... plain and simple tons of people are going to shell out money for it, why i don't know. we'll get 3-5 expansions again and d3 is likely already in development. if you want a better game stop buying this shit for 70$ or quit asking your parents to buy it for you even. you have to show a company that you want quality not quantity. if you keep throwing money at the company there going to throw buggy pieces of quickly thrown together shit right back, because that's what you want. also i utterly hate EA they are the biggest p.o.s. company ever to be a part of the gaming industry. don't buy any thing with EA on it. bargain bin for cheap, then go for it, EA doesn't get used game purchases.
-
Exactly. I see people saying I hope d3 tgey actually turn it around. What i hear is "no matter what Bungie says, does and no matter how bad they screw up d2, ilk be waiting cash in hand for D3.) no wonder Bungie doesn't have urgency. I bet 7/10 people who are relentlessly bashing this game will still by D3 no matter what happens.
-
From what happened in d1*the content drought* id rather have bungie focus on d2 UNTIL they are done with this game as a whole. What I mean is that they leave this game at good spot when they start to work on d3.
-
Why is destiny 3 even a topic of discussion right now?! I don't know! I guess people have given up on D2.
-
Don't need a Destiny 3. D2 is everything I want
-
Because D2 is dog poo. If it was a car it'd be a write-off. Scrap it and move on.
-
To me this game has and always will be searching for its identity and never find it. I don't mind d2 and definitely don't have the hate that some of you have but I have my issues. I feel like they had this huge plan for this game and before they even knew what they had they changed it.
