Iron Banner ornament grind
The people on this forum who are complaining that the chest ornament grind for iron banner is too hard are the reason why d2 was so garbage at launch. You want to log in and be handed everything in the game that is any bit dope as hell just for having purchased the game. I welcome the grind. It gives me a reason to log on and dummy some plebs in the thunder dome known as iron banner, i personally wish the ornaments for iron banner we're even harder of a grind. That way when I'm walking around looking dope as hell I know not every lazy ass out there has the same shit just for showing up. So maybe instead of complaining that d2 has no grind, then complaining something is to much of a grind, then when you get your way and the next two iron banners of the season have nothing new and you complain about it being stale and pointless, you should just put your big boy pants on and start your damn grind. If that's too hard for you, then just accept the fact that you aren't getting the fly ornaments and silently cry (too yourself) when you see the people willing to work for them, strutting their fly selfs, all over the tower.

This is what happens when kids grow up getting "participation awards". it's ok not to get a trophy, especially when it's just cosmetic.

No I didn't do it all on my Titan with the double nades. I used all 3 characters and I have one of each. Of course I used the Titan the most because dual nades and Synthocepts. Duh!

It's just unusual that the rest of the ornaments can be completed at around the same time but the chest takes significantly longer. Not that it's too long. Just a bit odd that it isn't in line with the others.

Its unequally distributed. The chest piece takes far longer than the rest, grenades recharge like a snail climbing a sequoia, melee is a joke, and its an ornament >>> ie you can get the other 4 with not a terrible amount of work comparatively, and since it is a set, you're 'collection' if you will is incomplete without all 5 pieces. When myself and others are missing 1, its essentially not having all 5 because it is incomplete. Its also iron banner >>> if there are ornaments for very high level of play, then by all means they deserve to be difficult so that you can swagger around in it. But this isnt that, coupled that these events are short as well as having awful melee/grenade implementations... its just bad. They could lower the amount by some odd 33% or so to bring it in line with what an ornament sporting an event such as this is. I dont want to be handed anything in games, but I also dont want to see absurd 'tear your eyes out of your sockets' type grinds that make you fight against a poor design choice for the last damned 40% i have left. Its not a proper end game grind in any way. Do you want a grind? Or do you want a meaningful and enjoyable grind yet i still throw my face into the meat grinder for the ornament ;p ... if it was easier to get I could be spending time learning prestige, studying, playing other games, living more life or whatnot. It's simply one of those things where its not a big deal, and at the same time it has a false wall of 'big deal' behind it. If it floats your boat? That is fantastic. I'm tolerating it now because this is something that will be gone later in time. And by that time, they will have much better implementations that work with the game and not against the game. The grenade/melee barrier is a sink for lack of content still for now but w/e i dont know why i looked at the forums and found your post just now lol. Although I do sense a strong stank of troll possibly :v) GLHF

Earning the ornaments is the easiest thing in the world. The chest piece is easy to get on Hunter, using Arcstrider, STOMP-E35, MIDA Multi and Mini for speed, and just running around shooting and meleeing people to death. It's almost one death per percentage. At least up till the end where it feels like it slows down. About 95% and onward.

5 RepliesI gave up hope of getting the ornament. I played numerous hours on all characters this week. Currently, I am at 67%. I don't have much time left to play, so there is no way to get it this time. I am undecided regarding whether or not I want to play the next IB. 6v6 seems really unappealing.

5 RepliesOrnament requirement should have been "capture 200 control points" or "get 400 kills while your team has control" or something that would encourage people to play the game properly. As it stands, the requirements actually encourage people to ignore the objectives and get themselves killed by rushing in for a melee.

4 RepliesToo true, I finished all of my ornaments grinding and milestones on both char's by thursday. It wasn't hard at all compared to the D1 thorn questline. There is no real grind anymore and that is seriously depressing. I now spend all my time doing public events on titan running fireteam medallion, increased loot from pub events exotic ghost, and 3 of coins until I get an exotic and illuminated engrams, then switch char's and repeat, I'm up to 1081 heroic P.E.'s as of now.. Very depressing. I would play more crucible like iron banner but I've already turned in 95 packages. And the competitive and quickplay game modes are even more depressing. And no i quit playing d1 for similar reasons. So I won't be revisiting that unless I just want to check out my raid gear and play with a ghorn for a bit. Sure was hoping d2 would be an improvement. I don't hate it but am seriously disappointed in it's quality.

It makes people (including me) not play the objective. I run in, throw a skip grenade, dodge forward, stab for the kill and die from team shots. If the stab doesn’t kill them the grenade will finish them up. Respawn and do it again. Having 2 skip grenades is nice.

It really should have just been ability kills. I mean it's not like you're getting 5 supers in one match like we did in D1. I did the whole thorn grind, chaperone grind, sword grind so I'm not against challenging grinds. Destiny 2 is an entirely different beast. 4 dudes inside of each other 24/7 with really weak grenades that take an eternity to recharge. Then don't get me started on crap melee registration. Add any ability kills and still keep the required amount the same. Keep the grind but make it a little more suitable to the current flow of PvP.

2 RepliesIm not even bothering with the ornaments, they could've been so much cooler, but they just look straight out of For Honor, and that games hype died out minute it was released, so... on the other hand, the weapons are pretty cool, the handcannon 3 shots in crucible, and I like how the scout feels. The shotguns a slug, so, yikes.

Unlike all the other gear I was freely given. I'm with you, I wish the others had been more difficult/time consuming for the real [b]reward[/b] of it.

2 RepliesI’m you’re average ordinary PVP scrub with the 1.1kd. I’ve got the ornament already. It wasn’t a major grind. The casuals just want things easy as that’s how Bungie have set this game up for the most part. As soon as something requires somewhat of a time commitment like the chest ornament requirement then that’s when the crying starts. Bungie built this game for the casuals so it will be interesting to see if the requirements for this get changed to keep them happy. I hope not. I got my chest ornament in match 31. But then I've been running fighting lion and arcstrider the whole time.

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 2/4/2018 7:28:10 AMThe only one that's difficult to do is the Chest Armor ornament, since grenades and melee have been neutered so much. Well, not that it really matters anyway. The Chest Armor ornament isn't really all that good looking.

3 RepliesPlayed banner yesterday and made it to 60% grenade/melee. I only played 3 matches prior to yesterday. I also earned my helmet, leg, and class item ornament. All in all, I'd say these ornaments are easy. I'm not having any issues, the game is still simplistic as it was when I stopped playing 3 weeks ago
