46 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 12/11/2017 1:02:29 PMTrue. In their wish to make the game more accessible, they took all the cosmetic "grind items' that used to be locked behind activities that had participation barriers (like Nightfalls, Raids, Trials), and took them out from behind that barrier. So what you have now is a common pool of "grind items" that are available to the player, AND THEY ARE NOW FREE TO PLAY WHATEVER PART OF THE GAME THEY CHOOSE. Craft their OWN personal end-game....and then have an opportunity to get those items as long as they continue to play. What they failed to foresee is how badly this would be receieved by the part of the player base that is externally motivated. IOW, they don't play for the fun of playing....they play for the fun of receiving loot, or the perceived status given such loot, To these players, overcoming those barriers is part of the appeal of those items. I-got-this-because-I-did-that. I get to show this off in the Tower, because I have it and you don't. With that "status" element removed, and the ease of obtaining the items...have diminished their value in the eyes of many in the player base. In short..... They made the mistake of crafting a game around appealing to the player whose satisfaction from playing the game is largely internal (which is why I've personally had less problems adapting to the changes.....the only value of any of this to me is how it looks and what I can do with it game playwise). But they lost sight of the fact that other people are motivated by different things, and for different reasons. So they made the foundation for the end-game incentive structure too narrow. To their credit, Bungie has acknowledged their error, and are in the process of starting to fix that problem. The planned changes are a good start. But they need to go further....but they'll also need time to do this.

4 RepliesIt’s not an endgame, nor is it a friendgame anymore. It’s a spendgame.

6 Repliesto people saying its only cosmetic and can be earned without money: Destiny is about looking cool, its a main objective for many players and also having to gamble for cool loot, even through a level up and not actual money, instead of getting it for remarkable performances is just NOT FUN. This game is clearly built around evervese with the intent to make players spend more money.

Edited by D2 is cancer: 12/11/2017 10:49:53 PMEververse defeats the whole purpose of grinding. Your game is built around grinding. Now, please tell me, Bungie, what the f*ck is the point of playing your VIDEO GAME when you sell 'gameplay' on your store? Destiny 2 is a scam, nothing more.

True.

Maybe we the community should stop playing the game for one day. They’ll see. Also it’s a little like evereverse spend game but this time it was not like Festival of the Cost. Festival of the cost was the worst.

End game is friend game
-
With the new job posting bungie has put up for an eververse progression lead designer you better believe destiny endgame is going way of the lootbox
-
That’s what they wanted but the game has burned to the ground. Free trial lmao. They are rethinking their Shady money sucking manipulation strategy. I like to think of this as the Dawning of a new cash grab!!!

6 RepliesStarting to wonder. Do they still have the level-up set at 160k? Won't matter if they do... I refuse to engage in any RNG microtransaction. I'll buy a specific item for a specific amount, but if I don't know what I'm buying, I don't buy it.

Destiny's Fashion Show!

31 RepliesTrue. Eververse is the only way to get: Ships. Sparrows. The better shaders. Emotes. Ornaments. Ghosts. And soon it will be legendary mods.
-
People are complaining about the endgame already, so do you really think Bungie would make an endgame that you can pay to bypass?
-
Why did you add the "or false" option? That shouldn't be there at all. Real talk though bungie knew that in D1, besides finding a godroll weapon or tier 12 capable armor set, the only other endgame was the fashion endgame. So bungie decided to get rid of random perks on weapons, get rid of perks in general for armor, and made the fashion game the only real endgame. Then they locked anything cosmetically appealing behind bright engrams. No cool ship to get in game, no cool sparrows to get in game, no cool ghost shells to get in game, hardly anyway of getting any shaders outside of Eververse (Made them consumable to that we feel the need to purchase bright engrams).

2 RepliesEververse = Cancer = Destiny = AIDS

At this point id rather they just put powerful, gameplay altering loot in eververse. That way all of the loot in the game isnt nerfed down to being just cosmetic in order to make eververse stuff more desirable.

This is thw 3 month old code. Wait for release.

1 ReplyEdited by Iccotak: 12/11/2017 7:52:31 PMlook man, I get that you are unhappy with the game (as am I) but why stick around? I came back after about two months just to look. You really have to delegate your f*ck budget. (how many f*cks you give a day) Hating on it this long? Trust me Destiny is on a downhill trend right now that it does not look like it is recovering from I've moved back to ESO
