Prometheus lens is completely broken in PVP.
It has high range, virtually no damage falloff, a damage over time burn effect, and it has the lowest time to kill in the game by about half right now. It's 100% broken. Even more then the vex mythoclast was pre nerf in destiny 1. Did they even playtest this? Its like having constant heavy ammo.
Update: Deej tweeted out that the gun shipped with a bug and will be fixed. All of you defending it or downplaying its power are unsurprisingly wrong.
Update 2: Xur is selling it. Guns still broken and needs to be fixed but at least now PVP will be an even playing field until they do.

Dear god the level of ignorance here. The gun kills in under 0.4 seconds, the closest thing in the game to that is the last hopes 0.7 seconds, and the last hope is only useful at about 15 feet. This gun can cross map and beat out scout rifles and maintain the 0.4 second time to kill. There is no defense against this gun in PVP, it isn't a debate, that's just a fact. It is, without a doubt, broken.

Blah game is bland as hell. Trying my hardest to keep interest in it but having such a hard time. So go right ahead and call for nerfs in this stale game. Will be one more reason for more players to lose interest

I'm secretly hoping to get my hands on it and use it in the crucible before they fix it. sort of as an F U to bungie for the slap job the story for CoO is.

6 RepliesI went up against a team last night, 3 of them had the Lens. We were caught off guard at first, but then had no issues picking them off. Stop crying about how this game isn't fare because you aren't good at PVP. I'm all for OP weapons, and to be honest we need more of them. Most of the exotics in D2 are trash. And in some cases Blue's are the best guns to run. We need a major buff for most exotic and legendaries (weapons and armor), i have found nothing in this game that needs a Nerf. Shut up and play better!!

I was lucky enough to get this in my first exotic, having never used the cold heart, I was eager to try it. It’s absolutely OP, I’m good for about 15-20 kills a game with Uriel’s gift or the Number. Have a decent KD, but this thing is sooooo gross in PvP. Pure destruction, but I had a great time using it, way too much fun. I have gone up against it and I remember it being annoying at first but not too bad to counter. In the hands of a decent player though, it melts people super fast. In short, I’m torn. I’m an old Halo player that relied on one gun, and only one gun. I like Destiny because there’s so many different guns to choose from and it’s incredibly fun testing them all out. Maybe the AOE needs a tone down, but idk; maybe leave it alone. Long range you’re still going to get bodied by a scout, close range to mid; you’re going to burn if you aren’t quick enough. All that said, I’m going to keep using it because it’s massive fun; so haters going to hate or join the fun and pick one up.

Might be broken, not sure. But weren't we asking for some good weapons and gear. You know something to make you feel powerful. I though have the complaints here were, there isn't anything worth grinding for.

Unless I get one myself from rng I’m staying out of the crucible until it is addressed.......every match I played last night someone on the enemy team was using it, not worth the headache.

Oh, dang. I was looking forward to having fun in Destiny again. Looks like Bungie is going to ruin it before I get a chance to use it. Oh well. They can continue to kill their game then. I guess I will have to play something else until Bungie remembers what fun is.
