We really need to have dedicated servers if anyone is going to take Crucible seriously. Ranked play and private matches are pointless when IP's are visible and connectivity issues and throttling can happen. A clanmate of mine just quit the game (I think forever...) tonight because he couldn't have a consistent experience in PVP. The way he put it, he simply doesn't have the time or the patience to deal with P2P problems in what is supposed to be a competitive PVP environment (especially in this day and age when Cloud servers are readily available).
I liked reading about the upcoming changes for the game, and look forward to them, but it is really a shame that people are leaving because Bungie wanted to save a buck by not having dedicated servers. I bought Deluxe, so I'm going to be sticking around for a while, but man... Dedicated servers for Crucible would be a huge game changer and I would rather see that happen than Leaderboards or private matches... It would also allow for 6v6 games as well. Hopefully Bungie will consider it and implement it in the future.
See ya out there, Guardians

14 RepliesDedicated Region Locked Servers are what we need.
-
57 RepliesDedicated server post yet again, won't help, people just don't understand how networking works. There is no magic wand to fix time and distance
-
Its funny Halo was taken pretty serious without dedicated servers for all those years
-
Actually Destiny is at the point that anything would mean something. It shouldn't be this way and thats why i'm not going to praise Bungie for meeting basic standards. When they do something exceptional then we'll talk.
-
2 RepliesPeople bitch and complain about dedicated severs when yes they would be nice and especially with a 2017 game but there are much bigger problems to talk about like the actual game sucking I'd rather them fix the game with shitty severs then play a shitty game with dedicated severs
-
Let's see how long it takes them to ban the dddosers in ranked. We already know it's gonna be full of cheaters.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS, FOR THE LOVE OF NICK FILLION, THIS!
-
They need to have a minimum ping to play and if they fall under it 3 times they get booted. That way the shit internet players can't play until they quit using their phones as hot spots. Doesn't matter, crucible is so -blam!-ing broken it's pathetic. Everyone holding hands running around the map = gay.
-
No private matches and ranked playlists don't matter because the game isn't fun lol.

22 RepliesDedicated servers don’t do jack about people with potato internet though... Battlefield and Star Wars Battlefront are 2 games that come to mind where Dedicated Servers are in Place but the experience can be, and often is, god awful
-
5 RepliesEven having dedicated servers won't get rid of all the problems Gears of War 4 has it and there's a shitload of problems in that still like D2 PVP though just don't like getting shot around the walls
-
1 ReplyWouldn’t say means nothing. The only real issue that’s currently holding pvp back is the awful refresh rate (getting shot through walls every gunfight) the rest kinda blows but is still good enough to play

1 ReplyFully agree, its the only thing that will bring back the PvP "full timers". That or actual monitoring and enforced measures of network manipulation. Either way, it needs specific, dedicated attention...and I don't see that happening.
-
1 ReplyWell, it means something. At least you are in control of who is playing. I just wonder how much control they will give you over custom game options.

1 ReplyEdited by Stari: 12/1/2017 1:02:19 AMDon't expect a comment from Bungie on this one ;) I have been complaining about this for more then 3 years now and have made more then 100 topics about it and have been laughed at, comments like git gud, learn how to aim, my network settings, ISP, bla bla bla..... Not even one reply from Bungie, so don't expect anything will happen. Bungie is too cheap for it!
-
2 RepliesYes, but like that's ever going to happen....

1 ReplyWhat wait dedicated servers we have a hybrid cloud servers see hybrid that's a fancy word say it again hybrid ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh.

1 ReplySigh i remember when the most complained thing about destiny was dedicated servers. Alas, the good ol days
-
played cod ww2 for one week; no Destiny...ww2 has dedicated ones; almost no laggy gameplay - maybe one player in 100 matches lagging...

Edited by Davalis: 12/2/2017 9:22:17 AMYea dedicated servers would be amazing. I stopped playing FOR HONOR as well because if p2p servers. I hope Bungie decides to make a change . What a waste of a great shooter with stellar mechanics if they leave p2p

2 RepliesYou just have bad and slow internet kid Cuz ive never had connection issues
-
1 ReplyWhat does Ranked mean in D2? You see some level based on the number of people you have killed?
-
2 Repliesi have 2 gigs up and down, yet i have phantom bullets far too often with my chosen gun type. People aren't where the game says they are (mini map/unit collision). I have 1ms monitor and am wired to everything. Something is up here behind the scenes, they throttle people like me down and its causes huge issues. The more we look at this the more it seems they tow the globalist bs and give people in sub Sahara Africa advantages over western players.

5 RepliesI get where your clanmate is coming from. Sometimes I'll hold the reticle on someone's head and hit a string of nothing but headshots.... I'll repeat that process and I'll hit nothing but bodies... it feels the aiming is almost RNG. I've also noticed peekers advantage comes into play quite a bit due to the p2p servers which has allowed me to perfect the art of peeking and spamming bullets while strafing back to cover and I'll usually snag the final headshot when I'm far behind a wall.

1 ReplyCompletely agree. Shooting someone who takes no damage is not fun.
