So I’m seeing a lot of misinformed opinionated posts about the news. For those who do not know what I’m referring to: the bungie livestream for curse of Osiris today was cancelled. Instead bungie will be making a large blog post on their website/app.
So you are all entitled to your own opinions on the matter. However, I feel it’s important you guys understand what’s happening. Today was going to be another typical livestream showing off some armor and weapons and new changes. Lately though public discontent with the state of destiny 2 is at an all time high. Many complaints about the game are surfacing. So instead of the fashion show bungie will be posting a blog post in direct response to the communities feedback.
Now the point I want to make is that many people are upset and making claims about bungie that simply aren’t true. The number of posts and youtube videos that claim bungie isn’t listening or bungie is lying is staggering. This is what this cancellation is about. Instead of ignoring complaints and continuing full steam ahead with their livestream bungie is taking the time to address these issues. They know there is problems and taking action to open a dialogue with the community about these problems.
I for one believe this is fantastic. I love destiny and will always stand by bungie but even I can admit there are problems. However, I believe this is a very positive step in fixing these issues. So before you complain and rage, take the time to look at this blog. The studio is reaching out to you telling you they messed up and they want to make it right. These people poured their hearts into this game and they want it to be better just as much as you do.
Lastly for all the people upset about the xp debacle. You have every right to be upset. In the midst of all the scandal with micro transactions this was not a pleasant discovery. But if you come out and make hateful comments about how bungie is full of liars and thieves, then you are simply wrong. Bungie immediately reacted, clearly confirming that this was indeed happening and taking steps to improve it. They never hid it from you, and they immediately took the blame. It shows me this company is dedicated to righting those wrongs that are out there. So please keep the door open with bungie and keep the feedback constructive. Bungie is doing their part it’s time for the community to do theirs.
TL:DR - the livestream was cancelled for a blog post where bungie is going to address all the problems with the game. Give it a read and make your judgements then. Let’s make community feedback constructive to support a company that is genuinely trying to make things better.

Stopped reading at:
I love destiny and will always stand by bungie but even I can admit there are problems.
This statement renders any critical thought you have about this game or any other by Bungie irrelevant. You are dismissed.

5 RepliesYou're pathetic. People like you blindly believe whatever Bungie tells them. Disgraceful.
-
they want to avoid another "2coin1blue" on stream... aside that they have no content to show.
However, I feel it’s important you guys understand what’s happening.
Do you think you have some special insight that the rest of us are too stupid to comprehend on our own? Piss off ya bloated windbag!

4 RepliesEdited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 11/29/2017 10:29:22 PMSeriously, and no offense to your good intentions, but get a grip on reality, guy. When players complained about dozens of issues in D1 and D2 both, Bungie and Activision repeatedly stuck their middle fingers in our faces. How soon we forget Luke's "throw money at the TV" response to the angry community. Or Deej once responding to the ire of the community by literally saying "we don't care, the community can do what it wants because we made our money already." Fast forward to today during the worst scandal of the company's history, their response to #XPgate (just coined that) is to say fine, -blam!- you, we're HALVING the XP you get now. They have a long history of taking a steaming shit on any dissent in the community under the guise of damage control. You telling us to give them a chance has already been said in these forums hundreds of times. They are out of chances, they've long worn our patience through. If you don't see that, you either weren't around before or you haven't been paying attention.

2 RepliesThank you so much for your condescending post, but I'm actually intelligent enough to understand without your having to explain it to me. Your explanation is also your opinion, which is not based on fact. I also believe it's misguided. What you need to understand is that talk of this upcoming post from Bungie that discusses the end-game and improvements and yadda yadda yadda is the same song and dance from its community managers we've heard before to make players think they “care”. Despite previous statements Bungie has never been transparent, shrouds everything in secrecy and nothing has truly changed about issues in Destiny or the way Bungie handles it. We'll be able to understand better when we read it, but nothing can be fully comprehended until we see the actual results of what they say they're going to do in their upcoming song and dance regarding this "higher priority information about Destiny 2".

Yup. Not sure why people wanted the livestream, the livestream would just have been meh, with this blog post wr might actuqlly get some answers.
-
They just put lipstick on a pig. Anybody who was truly impressed by that blog was already in Bungie’s pocket.

1 ReplyThere was a lot of posts about issues with game that weren't toxic. Almost 3 months went by without basically any communication from Bungie. This game is disappointing and not fun to play. It seems like they balanced it entirely around PvP and they're just trying to get our money with the very least amount of work possible. There's so much that needs fixed and I don't plan on sticking around for a year and probably 60+ dollars of DLC for it to happen. It's to little to late.
-
1 ReplyReally? Every time they say that its time to open up and listen to the community, people like YOU eat it up. Its been 4 years of "listening to the community" and look where its gotten us.

1 ReplyEdited by CookieNiki: 11/29/2017 7:59:04 PMI've been here since year 1 and believe when I say that Bungie failed in their promises enough times for now having my trust in what they say. They are the kings of vague, ambiguous promises in order to pacify the community and get them to buy yet another DLC. Been there, done that. That's why now I always take their words with a HUGE grain of salt.
-
They only reacted to xp issue because a guy caught the major throttle. Thus making incentive to buy eververse. Thus leading to plausible ground of pay to play gambling style. Pretty much EA is getting lit up and Bungie decided to get a head start.
-
Or they thought that what they were going to release was just going to make people even more upset. So they all sat down at a table and asked each other "what does the community want to hear?" They compiled a list of things they cut from the game and posted it.

Edited by Eqitx: 11/30/2017 9:21:52 AMFancy how they look cooperative listening us right now the dlc is coming and millions are asking a refund with dlc sales at hundred thousands instead of the millions expected. It's called PR management but i guess you're still too young or naive to understand this concept.

+1 Well said.

While what you said is probably true.... oh boy the way you said it. this comment section is gonna be a shit hole.

1 ReplyKeep sucking that bungie kock, you’re breath even smells like bullshit.
-
You should remove the destiny pipe from your throat, you are turning purple... I love destiny as much as the next guy, but even if you put destiny 2 vanilla with the new dlc and the updates the game is still barren, no original ideas other than the lost sectors and adventures. Super shitty drops even when they are purple or gold because it’s still a crappy weapon you’ve already gotten 80 to 90 times. They didn’t address the major issues people are having which is locking stuff behind paid walls. Activision and bungie do not give 2 tokens and a blue about you, all they care is about money. If you genuinely think they care about you, you are delusional.
-
When the most important people behind Destinys development hide behind a blog post, you know they don’t want to show their face. I wouldn’t want to either with this lackluster post. They sealed their own fate.
-
There is so much toxicity in these forums, even in these replies. I agree with you 100%. 👍🏻
-
All I'll say is... GG.
-
1 ReplyYou make it sound like Bungie is doing something good here. As if they haven't been ignoring their community for ages. As if the same problems haven't spilled over from Destiny 1 into 2. Admitting that you'll always stand by Bungie shows biased which leads me to believe you're not even considering the other side of the argument.
-
Are you a Bungie employee? No. So how the hell do you have any idea what's going on behind the scenes?!
