Just reinstalled D1 because D2 is cheeks.
I smiled ear to ear when I opened my vault and saw my collection of great guns, god rolls that I spent hours upon hours grinding for. I remembered how great it feels when you finally get that perfect roll. So many good memories froms different metas :)
I thought Id do a strike to get used to it again before I played some PvP. I had so much fun that I ended uo doing 5! Its solar burn this week and everything feels so nice. The movement is so fast, my abilities feel useful and I just had a great time feeling powerful again :)
Then I played some PvP and even tho cruicible was left in its worst state ever, man I had fun! I remembered why I love this game. Tier 12 set up with Bones of Eao and 2 x better control jumps + shadestep every 3 seconds! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? OMG I was in heaven. I enjoyed myself more during the 10 or so games that I played than I have ever in D2 PvP. I only died to a sticky once and saw one dude running a wormwood.
Give it a go if you're not feeling this piss poor excuse for a sequel.
When I think let down/failure as far as gaming goes, 2 titles come to mind. The Division and Destiny 2. How did you get it so wrong Bungie. I kinda hate you guys for ruining this for me.

It totally is cheeks!...lol

The worst part is thaT THEY ALREADY FIXED MOST OF DESTINY 2 PROBLEMS IN DESTINY 1! like how can you mess up 2 launches from the same game! HOW!! They literally already fixed so manny things just to throw the working system away for a BROKEN and BORING one. Idk if they have like a internal communications problem or something but I’m starting to think that they are either braindead to what the majority of their community wants or (the most likely circumstance) that they wanted a system that worked together with the loot boxes to make more money.

Think of how many players would return to D1 if they released all the legendaries back into the loot pool. I logged in on ps3 for shits and giggles and saw some awesome vendor gear. I saw the Panta Rhei with kneepads, rifled barrel, and rangefinder. I deleted that exact roll a long while back . . .

Ran around ripping stuff up with Thunderlord the other day. I get where you're coming from.
-
Did the D1 nightfall last night. My grenades would change in less than two seconds while carrying the orb. I really miss being a space magic god.

37 RepliesI love how people reply to "D1 is better" with "D1 at launch is worse than D2 at launch"... true, BUT, D2 is a sequal, not a starting point. We shouldn't need to wait 3 years to be able to compare the 2 titles. While the overall level of content can be less than D1 at yr 3, due to DLCs, the mechanics should have been an improvement. The weapons should be better, and have more variety etc.

2 RepliesI feel D2 vanilla - (where we are now) is better than D1 was in its vanilla: but the problem with this comparison is that in D1 vanilla - we didn't have 3 preceding years worth of features, playmodes and activities cut from the game like we do now. Just a reminder if you weren't there - but D1 was not well-received. People were screaming blue-bloody-murder then but the grind was there, the exotics and classes were good, and the VOG was sublime. IMO In D2, the overall dumbing-down of the game and removal of any meaningful endgame has caused this backlash. I don't agree with a lot of changes made to D2 from a "this is how the game works" point of view - but everything would have been OK of there were meaningful things to do. and meaningful stuff to GET. - Heroic Strikes: I know these are coming with Osiris DLC - but will there be modifiers to make it fun, or strike-specific loot to make it, worth doing past being fun) ?? - Hard mode: raid gear, with raid specific perks, not only color changed. Weapons what were locked into the hard mode, ie the only way to get X weapon is in the hard mode. - Random weapon roles: or keep the fixed roles and give us a mod system that is not so useless). - More crucible playmodes: Put in Rumble, Rift, Combined arms, inferno, mayhem - stick all the fun stuff and game modes into its own 3rd playlist - with 6v6. I think there are solutions to these problems and I hope that Bungie realizes sooner rather than later that there were things at the end of D1 that should have carried over to D2. Things that would have made it a lot more fun.

2 RepliesHere is what I do, Tuesday evening login to Destiny 2, do the clan xp, flashpoint, treasure maps, calls to arms and may be nightfall. Done! Logoff Destiny 2. Then login Destiny 1, fly to Reef go see my friend Variks, check in with Petra then fly to tower see Shaxx pick up his weekly bounties except supremacy, run over to Arcite 99-40 pick up a few of those weapon bounties, then run up to Xander 99-40. Hmm... wonder why all the three of them (include Berg 99-40) have the same number? Go orbit, pick those activities for the treasure of Ages. Then go to the crucible menu, pick the feature 6v6 play, rage and have fun. Finish those bounties and see what will drop from them, could be a good roll or a gun with guerrilla and danger close but actually feels pretty good, who cares anyways at this point. Hahaha. Thursday, go visit Savala pick up Sunrise, then run to Banshee 44 to spend 5,000 glimmer on weapon parts and another 5,000 on armour parts, agai run to vanguard quartermaster trade in 30 legendary for some planetary materials, go see Amanda buy a new ship. Then run all the way to the other side visit Eva, see what shader see got and finally run up to the Speaker, he might have some interesting class items. Back to orbit, go Iron temple and see Shiro. Go orbit again, try solo nightfall if fail then back to tower and run around form the A team, go back to nightfall once again kick the boss ass then teabag its body, open the chest. Then go goof around in plague land. Friday go look for Squidface to buy a few hundreds of heavy synthesis just because I can.

I think we played a different game then. Went into a strike after a few minutes I had my super which was nice. Hated how I didn't have fusion rifle ammo throughout the strike as I had to pray that RNGeesus be generous with the special ammo drops. As I'm throwing my solar grenades that are buffed by solar burn, I'm realizing... They do this same damage... No... More damage in D2. As I whip out solar susanoo with solar burn and blast a captain and he doesn't die...im just astonished at how little damage I'm doing. We get to the boss, and I end up burning through all 63 energy of young wolf's howl, and I realize.. I could've beaten a D2 boss in the same amount of time even without a element burn. Then After the strike went to the vault. After fawning over all my gear for a few I'd earned over the last few years I hopped into a game of clash. My next ten deaths went as follows. Ice breaker Ice breaker Last word Last word icebreaker 3 consecutive arc blades, 2 of which were by the same guy Rocket A Nova bomb Neutrino slim(another sniper) Reminded me why I stopped playing.
When I think let down/failure as far as gaming goes, 2 titles come to mind. The Division and Destiny 2. How did you get it so wrong Bungie. I kinda hate you guys for ruining this for me.
Yup .... both were huge let downs. I had high hopes for both, but especially for D2 since they had 3 years of learning and tweaking under their belt with D1.

And if you manage to find enough people to raid, ooooh those were the best... Been doing the weeklies when I found the chance and man does it feel great to get the rest of those ornaments I need
-
People still play this game?
-
But D1 is dead. The forums have been screaming that for the last two years. Aren’t you all off playing The Division and Fortnite and FNAF and fidget spinners, or whatever it is that you whippersnappers do while listening to your hippety hoops and your rock and roll?
-
Meh, I’m playing D2 on PC lol. D1 would feel like hot garbage, even though it is a better game... 30 FPS @ 720p (or 900) 🤢
-
4 RepliesI’m not saying d2 is a masterpiece(or d1 for that matter cuz it wasn’t and until the sequel came out it was the butt of everyone’s jokes) but to be fair, you’re comparing a 3 year old game that has been revised a million times, to a game that just came out with next to nothing done to it yet. Sooooooo......you know, unfair comparison maybe.

11 RepliesWhy go back to d1? Theres so many good games to play other than destiny. Nier Automata, Senuas Sacrifice. Hell even cod turned out to be good this year

I went back into D1 last night, too, but I farmed patrols for strange coins. D1 looks almost as good as D2. The guns feel the same. My hunter jump in D1 makes an annoying noise. My god roll imago loop felt and played exactly like better devils. I had a good time with Telesto and my sniper rifle collection, but I missed my submachine guns and sidearms. My D1 legendary swords had no lunge, that was lame. In terms of the most casual of all possible activities, solo patrols and public events, D2 wins hands down. For materials gathering patrols, I had to get on my sparrow and zoom to an entirely different area just to find enemies to kill that I hadn't already killed. Every scan/kill mission that took me to some awful place on the map, I couldn't fast-travel back without going to orbit first. Although I basically know where everything is, there were no helpful maps. I rememberd why patrolling in D1 was a chore. All in all, I agree with the allegations that D2 is a minimum viable product, and that a lot of people are right to be upset. They should have released heroic strikes and the ability to redo any plot mission you want along with the raid. Even if they wanted mainly static weapon rolls, they should have introduced at least one weapon of each class, maybe as an exotic, that can have random perks and be re-rollable for shards. I don't object to the Crucible quicklist or even the 4v4, but they needed to introduce voting re maps/game modes at least for quickplay, and selectable maps/modes for competitive, and bring back fan favorite game modes.

Destiny one was crap but now d 2 is out people are claiming it's the best game of the god damn century
