Framerate drops and stutters with 1080 ti's in SLI [UPDATE 2 Nvidia Driver 388.31]

[UPDATE 2] https://youtu.be/xo9R8m9UV48 Here is a video of me doing the same public event as in the original post after installing the new Nvidia driver. Results seem to be very positive so far. Very happy with my rigs current performance with Destiny 2. [UPDATE] I'm very pleased to report that after installing the new Nvidia driver 388.31, I have ran through a full Crucible match at 3840x2160 with vsync on without dropping a single frame. I'll be sure to run the same Public Event with an uncapped framerate in order to get a true comparison pre and post driver update. Here's a video of a public event running at 3840x2160 with max graphics and the framerate uncapped. Really disappointed in the performance, but is this to be expected with this hardware? Here is my info: Configuration Info: CPU: i7 6700K OC'd @ 4.4ghz GPU: MSI Gaming X 1080 ti x2 in SLI OC'd w/ MSI Gaming App RAM: 16GB Corsair DDR4 OC'd @ 3000mhz GPU Driver Version: 388.13 PSU: Corsair AX860i Operating System: Windows 10 Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.674) DxDiag: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B86gRqhVaXReYlVjenpqdnRWS1E Issue Information: Destination/Activity: Any

Stuttering when you have an SLI setup is really common for most games. It's do to inconstant frame timings. One thing you can do to help with stuttering is setting a frame rate limit. Make sure you set the frame rate limit to a number that you know the gpus will never drop below. Also you can trying turning on Vsync or even better turning on adaptive Vsync. All three of these things help assure that the frame timing stays consistent. Here's the wiki article on micro stuttering https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro_stuttering

      That's not normal, I have a 1070 and I don't have issues at all. Then again I'm using 1440p monitor not 4K.

      • I haven't really been having issues ever since they fixed the performance issue last week (I think) that was causing gameplay. my 1080ti works fine. I would suggest maybe just using Vsync or something?
