Can someone from Bungie PLZ respond? Entire PC Crashing from D2

Posted another thread about it, but I fear it's been lost in the pile of posts. Entire PC crashes within 5-30 mins of play of Destiny 2. It is the only game I own that this happens with (CoD WWII, Overwatch, Diablo, WoW, etc all run fine AT HIGHEST SETTINGS POSSIBLE). Ran smooth during the beta, and since live launch it has been unplayable. No frame dips. Runs smooth until the screen freezes, goes weird colors, and my entire system reboots. Things I've tried: Stress tested CPU (prime95) and GPU (FurMark and Unigine Valley (2013) and Unigine Superposition (2017)) for 8-10 hours a piece at 100% load, and the computer ran fine. Highest temp reached for either test was 72C. No overclocking on either CPU or GPU. Turned down video settings to lowest possible. Ran CHKDSK and it was all good as well. Uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of Destiny2. Tried running both Blizz launcher and Destiny2 as admin. Ran scan and repair from Blizz launcher. Rolled back graphics drivers to several different updates by using DDU, completely removing graphics drivers, and doing completely clean installs. No change. Made sure Windows was on most current update, and tried previous updates. BattleTag (with numerical suffix): GriffinK#1423 Configuration Info CPU: Intel Core i7-6700HQ GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 RAM: 32 GB GPU Driver Version: 388.13 (released 10/29/2017) Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64bit Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.19) DxDiag: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2dMwc7GVwCNTWcyZzRQQmNselE/view?usp=sharing Destination/Activity: Any planet or even in directory

  • Same here, but usually just a "destiny stopped working" soft crash. 3570k/980ti x2 SLI (latest driver), Win 10 64. I had the same full PC power off crash once or twice but happened EVERY time on the "My Captain" mission just before or after the "link with the harpy" part. I managed to finish by turning settings to medium at a lower resolution (even though my FPS was over 90 on max settings). Still getting regular crashes 0-3 times an hour.

  • I am having the same issue. My pc shuts off without warning and immediately, just like it was overheating. However, I checked the temperatures. It seems to be below 60 degrees most times. I would love to see a fix to this

So this game which i really do love is now completly unplayable to me. So could somebody in bungie please just respond and tell us that they are working on a fix.

  • Just wanted to add that i'm also experiencing a similar issue. Nothing in my event viewer is giving me anything to work with. My complete system shuts down happens around the time a minotaur spawns just after the first jumping puzzle. I also have to performe a complete power cycle to be able to boot it up again. It's only Destiny that this happens to. My temps are 41°C CPU and 64°C GPU. My MB temps are all pretty cool too. It's the strangest thing, and i'm really struggling to find a fix :/. All my drivers, windows updates and BIOS are all upto date too. Rig Details are as follows: AMD Ryzen 1700 @3.2ghz Nvidia 1080ti 32gb Kingston Fury @2400mhz 2x 250gb SSD 2x 1TB HDD Corsair HX1000i PSU OS: Windows 10 x64 All of these items are between 1 month to 4 months old as it's a completely new build. • Happens to me too. Not set point when it happens the entire PC just locks up and I either have to force quit D2 or restart the whole PC. Battletag:
Mackingtosh#2993
Specs: I7 7700K 1080ti FTW3 16gb RAM Windows 10 All latest drivers installed, everything up to date.

    • Update 11/3/17: It’s DAY 10 and still no fix. It’s odd that this thread is actually gaining traction and we STILL have yet to have any response from someone at Bungie, or even just an automated one. I want to play this game but at some point it just feels like they don’t care about this issue and we should just ask for refunds. I want to play this game as I was a massive Destiny 1 player since launch, but this is getting ridiculous. I don’t want to pay $100 for something I waited a year for, and still can’t play it 10 days later.

      • I have the same issue, found nothing that fixes it. Has to be on bungie's side. I've seen quite a few that have the I7 processors/nvidia 10 series cards having this. Not the game crashes but our entire PC's crash. No blue screens, no error codes, just screen goes black and computer has to be restarted. I'm done playing this game until they address this. Hopefully we can all get refunds if it doesn't get fixed in a timely fashion.

        • Exact same issue that I'm facing, have tried the same exhaustive measures. Destiny is the only game that has this issue.

        • Looks like there is a hotfix coming tomorrow that will hopefully fix it. If you google it you can see some of the patch notes but the official notes weren't up yet.

Over on the Hearthstone forums (I'm an MVP with 20k+ tech posts) there have been a number of things identified to conflict with Hearthstone/Battle.net. You might want to check through the list since I noticed Razer products and MSI in your dxdiag file. Both have a few things on the list. https://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/forum/topic/15269208205
gammaspline.exe
This hasn't made the list above, but I've also never heard of it, and it seems to be an MSI product. You may want to try disabling that. - - - PS - Hopefully this helps. I don't normally come to these forums, so I don't think it will notify me of any replies.

          • Had similar issues, found a fix for me. Posted my journey here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/236701576?sort=0&page=0 Updated it daily for about 5 days, never even got an automated response on it. Hopefully it helps other people though.

          • i had the same resetting issue, i booted into safe mode and used DDU to completely remove my display driver, under Device Manager/display adapter there should be no mention of any nvidia/amd product only a standard VGA device, then i downloaded/installed 388.00 direct from the nvidia website. I havent had a single crash since then, before i was crashing at random times. A normal "clean" install just doesnt seem to do it, it seems you have to completely remove the driver all together and start fresh. that solved my crash issue anyway.

            • I have the same thing happening. my setup is as follows: i7 3770k vega 64 16gig ram everything is watercooled(so no heat issues) screen sounds everything locks up then about 5seconds later my computer either reboots or the game crashes to windows(most of the time my computer reboots) and ye the hotfix didn't do anything to remedy this. still the same shit, I can't play the game I paid 99$ for. combine that with the fact that this is the most watered down version of destiny ever, I can't say I'm very happy with my purchase. just bring back year 1 destiny pvp, and let me play it on pc with no system crashes, noone asked for this game.

            • Bungie! (If you read this) You behave irresponsible to the gamers who's money you want! I have played Blizzard games for many years, and if I'm having a problem I can't solve I can always e-mail support and get a solution from A REAL PERSON. If you want to stop a plunge of people who want to buy your games, establish manned support, not this shit with going to Forum or FAQs. IT DOESN'T WORK, and as far as I can see there is already a large amount of real angry customers on these forums. To my personal satisfaction, a request from me to Blizzard for refunds has already been answered politely and with positive outcome so I'm out of your mess, I think your game looks amazing so why didn't you postpone the release until you had things under control ? That's sad. You may have blown your chance on the PC platform. PC gamers don't like to be treated like this.

I'm having the same issue, and have taken all the same troubleshooting steps. The game runs extremely smoothly with no frame drops, no tearing, no issues. and then bam, screen freaks out, audio freaks out, and then PC reboots. At this point I am certain it is not a hardware issue, as Destiny 2 is THE ONLY game I have ever owned that does this. If this isnt resolved soon, I'll be forced to refund the game as I CAN NOT PLAY IT.
