Lets be a little lenient and try an be positive

Can we all stop and relax D2 has been out for like 6 weeks, I really don't understand how you're all gonna compare D1 to D2 in terms of content. D1 had 4 DLCs and multiple small updates over the course of three years, let me say it again, it took 3 years for destiny to become "good". While I understand the frustration with D2 I don't think that comparing it to a game that was out for 3 years is fair. And on top of this lets be real these forums have had nothing but negative posts for a long time, why are we now praising D1 for the fantastic game that it was? Simply because people need something to complain about, again i get it some arguments are sensible however i still think we should relax and let Bungie do their thing if they kill the game let them, however once they start answering the community and remedy their mistakes how about we actually praise the game rather than simply finding another thing to complain and bash the company for. Immature and angry posts aren't something Bungie is going to take seriously, lets respectfully post our opinions with constructive criticism, it makes you look better and allows Bungie an actual foresight into the issues rather than them having to sift through angry, poorly worded wastes of time. Thanks for reading sorry I rambled a bit TLDR; stop being immature and lets actually try to positively influence the future of D2

  • One simple question, Is this a sequel or a reboot? Because it feels like a reboot. Never once had i played a sequel of a game and it felt like a do-over. Not trying to be negative look at all my previous posts i want the best for this game... but bungie did this to themselves... they deserve every bit of backlash they are receiving and more. There is no excuse for the content we received and they do need to make it up to us or else i know many people will be leaving. Will it destroy the company? probably not but i know if they don't fix this game then bungie will be held very low to alot of people.

    • "I really don't understand how you're all gonna compare D1 to D2 in terms of content." It's not content that's the problem, it's the purpose of that content. In Destiny 2, you beat it, you move on. I saw a description that someone wrote that I'm going to steal of Destiny 2. "Destiny 2 is miles and miles wide... but only a few inches deep." Perfect metaphor. There are 'things to do' (the miles wide) but no real thing to dig into (inches deep) and that's the problem. No purpose to prestige anything (literally), no purpose for strikes, no purpose for Public events besides exotic engrams, no purpose for exotic engrams because they drop DARCI 60 times (better to wait till Xur), no purpose in collecting because you don't have the kiosks (in the now labeled 'collection game' called Destiny 2), no purpose for factions because you know someone has farmed 2,000 tokens in the time you did one strike, and no purpose in finding friendship because the only reason I started playing was beause of friendship... it doesn't keep me playing (especially when those friends leave first). Of course, why are we lacking things that we had in D1 is still a valid question. Seriously, no choosing my PvP mode? Sorry, fail. And there is no way you can spin that otherwise. Patrols can't be taken with me? Fail. Again, toss up to terrible choice and no lessons learned. Lost Sectors? What are those? I haven't done one in three weeks because they're that pointless. Fail. At the very least, by a longevity stand point, they could have hidden the lost sectors... you know, actual lost sectors, so I could scurry around and find them. When you make weapons, armor, activities, and even LL useless... your content has that much less purpose, and thus, that much less longevity. Thus... why it's considered so bad that D2 compared to D1 (even at vanilla level) is sorely lacking compared to D1 in 'content'. Oh, and just to mention, there's a difference between 'turning down the grind' and removing the point of grinding. The point of grinding is to stave off, the point of your post, the dreaded 'content drought'. You don't need more content to stave off droughts... you just need purpose behind your content to keep it alive. The only time grind is a bad thing is when it sorely outweighs the value of what you're grinding for. Of course, Destiny 2 is on the opposite end of that spectrum. It actively discourages you from grinding/playing/looting due to the fact if they didn't, you'd have everything in a week based on their 'rations' for time imputed. Instead of having sensible rations of loot (based off activity value) they just give it all to you. That is not what a lot of us wanted. We don't want to be handed everything, we just didn't want to spend 6 hours grinding materials so we could use 3 weapons. That's bad grinding. There is a middle ground, that's what we wanted, but no one acknowledges that. Not those at Bungie, and not those that only see every single post as an entitlement rant. -- Also, you don't praise a AAA developer for having a game that doesn't crash or lets you shoot a gun... that's called an expectation. You give praise if you're impressed. Which, is subjective, and not hence not braced by your brazen words. "why are we now praising D1 for the fantastic game that it was?" Because... compared to Destiny 2... Destiny 1 does look like a fantastic game. No one said that it's suddenly better than it always was on release. It's the comparison that makes Destiny 1 fantastic. Which... shows how bad this has gone with some people. -- "let Bungie do their thing if they kill the game let them" Um... what does that mean? Have faith, but they'll kill there game if they want to? That's what we're upset about right now. We don't want them to kill their game... but if you're okay with that, then why are you here? How is us wanting Bungie not to kill their game a bad thing? There is a point at which you're no longer playing Devil's Advocate... and just saying that you should be happy if it sucks or not because that's how they wanted it to be, so it must be fine. Not how it works.

I could be lenient, but their announced plans are not improvements. We complain that we are lacking in strike specific loot, weapon missions like the Black Spindle, and interesting things to grind for. Instead of letting us know we will have interesting guns and even more interesting specific missions to get them, Luke Smith announces that going forward this is going to be a collection game where any weapon can drop anywhere. I cannot be lenient toward that.

      • They restarted the Destiny process. They literally hit the restart button on the development. In 3 years we'll get more super soakers but try hards will think it's "balanced" and all that fun garbage.
