Seeing the massive lack of recovery gear for hunters, and the undeniably underpowered class ability they get, I think this would be a good start to fixing the class.
Health recovery initiating when you dodge rather than having to wait for your recovery cool down means that hunters can play a hit and run style more effectively and can spend more time fighting than hiding and waiting for health to come back. It also means we won't have to give up all of our stats just to achieve a meager 5-6 recovery max.
It would also be nice if dodge reloaded team mate weapons or melee based on the chosen perk, rather than just your own.

This would be dope. A lot of time I only even use the dodge to turn invis to evade death. The invis itself doesn't even last long enough for my recovery to trigger so it'd be a nice touch when in those dicey situations that I barely make it out of s: tbh hunters seem to be very underwhelming in pve so I think it would increase balance and uniqueness between classes

6 RepliesTo be honest I feel sorry for hunters they get all the worst end from Bungie, bad jumping, squidgy, the grenades , super are weak and the Dodge is a joke. closely followed is the Warlock and I say this even though I predominantly play a Titan
-
11 RepliesHunters are only "bad" and "underpowered" because the people using them are absolute shit.

5 RepliesEdited by xRetsu: 10/10/2017 1:05:25 AMGuys. The hunter dodge works just fine. The real issue, is that out hitbox remains in the original location until the dodge animation is complete. So 99% of the time (100% in crucible) you get killed for a well-timed dodge. It needs relevant updating hitboxes or in the absolute "best case scenario" an invincibility frame (1-2, no more)
-
7 RepliesNah. Just needs better recovery based armour pieces. Would be nice to reach 7 in recovery.
-
Sounds like a good idea for an exotic armor piece.
-
1 ReplyDodge should reload all weapons, not just the one equiped
-
7 RepliesI'm a titan main who has always felt like hunters were the worst class since year 1 d1. That being said I believe hunter dodge is the best class ability. I even find myself double tapping B (on xbox) when playing my other two characters cuz I want to dodge lol. I wouldn't be upset though if one of the perks on dodge let you start recovery instead of reloading

24 RepliesI agree that the Hunter class ability is among the least useful from both PVP and PVE perspectives. But Health Regen? Maybe. In small doses. And not for teammates. And PVE only. It would never fly in PVP, even though the dodge ability is easily the most useless in D2’s PVP arrangement. Honestly I’m not sure it’s the answer - but there is a problem.
-
They would get both. Health regen and reload their teams ammo/melee when they're close by. With how strong the other classes abilities are there's no reason the hunter can't do that.
-
I was a hunter once....
-
Could have it apply a over shield instead... Probably would be a little more broken that way tho

Edited by Sd Kfz 1824985: 10/10/2017 1:14:24 AMNo, this would be like giving the exotic Survival Well perk to hunters without using an exotic slot.
-
All I stack on my hunter is recovery and haven't had a hard time doing so. Recovery is like the joy stat that has a significantly noticeable improvement as you increase it, so I'd rather dodging do something useful, that you can spec your gear for.
-
I think shield regeneration is a bit much. But I suggested in a previous post that maybe it leaves a stunt double/proxy that draws fire from enemies before exploding. Maybe 10-15 seconds long. Or it could leave a sunspot or arc pulse in it's wake causing AOE damage to enemies Just my suggestion because Dodge is very situational unlike Titan barricade or Warlock rift.

Dodge is fine, just wish it gave me my rat king buff when I reload it with the dash

Recovery is so badd

1 ReplyEdited by GraciousEel761: 10/9/2017 10:18:27 PMThis is an interesting concept, and I could see this being implemented on an exotic armor piece very easily. It may be a bit too powerful as a class ability option, or passive bonus to the dodge itself. The Crest of Alpha Lupi exotic Titan chest armor has the ability to restore some health when using the barricade class ability. It does not initiate recovery, but it restores health instead. I think for this idea with Hunters, it could be either/or in terms of restoring health or initiating recovery.

Wow the people who think the hunter is OP must be really awesome players with hunters or get their blams handed to them by hunters all the time. I wonder which of those two categories is more common.
-
I think it should trigger invisibility. One tree granting quicker revive time (think D1 Crest of Alpha Lupi) the other could grant increased melee from stealth or something I dunno. I dont have a hunter really, but seems like more group support would be welcome.

2 RepliesHow about a buff for marksmans dodge that grants you instant reload and a 5-10 second timer where you don't consume ammo from the magazine, hence effectively increasing clip size dramatically? For gamblers dodge how about increased sprint speed for the same amount of time ? Not really a fan of this dodges perks except for the animation of the dodge itself.

8 RepliesEdited by TeslaDoc: 10/9/2017 11:18:07 PMPvP is full of invisible weenies with shotguns and swords. I think I might see more than 1/3 hunters in PvP. Hunters do just fine without any added help. Right now I think Voidwalkers need some PvP help.
-
That would be a cool perk, I would like to see Bungie implement this into the dodge.

13 RepliesOmg no. Hunters can get a rhythm going where they can cycle dodge and melee to have infinite of both. In pve kill a mob and recharge dodge energy. You can also build energy from sprinting. It would quickly be op in crucible for sure.
