The Timer thing everyone is spewing out doesn't seem like a timer.
It sounds more like a glitch.
Which should be fixed by Bungie As soon as possible

If I could upvote this over and over I would. People are giving Bungie way too much credit (discredit?) and running with unconfirmed rumors. Personally I'm coming to the conclusion that the game is pretty buggy and it strikes more or less randomly. I've yet to hit an empty cache / material, and I pick them up pretty rapidly due to scout reports, etc. But I've seen my wife open a Cayde stash and it be empty, when it wasn't for me, and we both picked up the same caches/materials in the same amount of time. She's also never gotten a weekly "Well-Rested" buff, that I get every reset. People are just trying to inflict order on what is actually senseless chaotic bugginess.

I'm pretty sure at this point it is a glitch. Was doing Cayde's treasure maps yesterday and the first one I opened, without open anything else mind you, gave me nothing. The next two each gave me legendaries including the FWC auto and even an exotic engram.

It was intentionally put in as a counter to this farming spot on Nessus where you could open a chest about every 30 to 45 seconds.

Hey, I have a brilliant idea!!! Why don't they just MOVE this chest? Instead of putting a cool down timer on every other chest in the game? Seems like that would be a lot easier....no?
