If you've come here to post some sarcastic non-comment along the lines of "bye" or "can I have your stuff" jog on, hit the X on the top right of your screen, go do something constructive with your life. For the rest of you who give half a f*ck about the destiny community, I'm done with this game until something drastic happens to make the endgame worth doing and not tedious, bland, boring and down right frustrating. Lets look at the endgame activities one by one.
1: Strikes - Completely worthless, you get more loot doing public events and public events take at worst a quarter of the time assuming you got unlucky with spawns. The strikes all hold no real lore significance, add nothing significant to the story, and to top it off you can't even choose which strikes you want to do anymore. You know in a sequel you're supposed to add functionality, not take it all away, and I can't think of a single good reason to remove strikes from the storyline and make their selection completely RNG.
2: Public Events - They actually made them fun, when you're not zoning in and out of an area over and over again trying to find players to do them with. I've lost count of the number of times I've zoned into an area only to find it devoid of all players, or found players who have no idea how to trigger the heroic event and gormlessly watch me carry orbs around while they pop the spider tank in the brain case. Does it not occur to people that maybe the lv20 dude is doing that stupid s*it for a reason and they should perhaps copy him? It doesn't help that bungie does nothing to explain heroic events to new players.
3. The Nightfall - I'm going to say this slowly and in big letters so you get it.
TIMERS. ARE. NOT. FUN.
They aren't fun, never have been, never will be. The nightfall was plenty challenging for it's gear rewards beforehand, it doesn't need this artificial difficulty bulls*it added on top. I get it, you want people to feel challenged for the rewards, but the flip side of that is players feeling cheated when they lose to a timer instead of the enemy.
4. The Leviathan - Boring, tedious and a complete waste of an otherwise beautiful setting. What the hell was Bungie thinking? With the exception of the final boss, these aren't raid encounters, they're glorified puzzle rooms, and the 30 second revive or wipe timer on normal mode is just another lazy way of artificially creating difficulty.
The Baths - Never died to mechanics, always wiped to one dude dying to adds and dragging the rest of the team with him because you either drop your mechanics and die, or don't revive and die.
The Pleasure Gardens - Lost count of the number of times the dogs bugged out and saw the people jumping on the platforms above them. Also if you're going to force stealth on people, maybe consider putting working stealth mechanics in your game, or maybe just don't do it since this is a MMOFPS not a Stealth action game.
The Gauntlet - You're literally having us jump through hoops, and someone somewhere at Bungie thought this would be fun? Also nice troll with the 'only 3 people have to make it to the end but if anyone dies the 30 second wipe timer will f*ck you', thing, that was a nice touch.
Oh and you know what else I love, not getting loot for any of this shit, not being able to spend my tokens until after completing the raid, having to find the other half of my reward in yet another stealth game, having my keys removed from my account on reset, having to walk through a maze every time I want to get back to the boss I was at, and after all this finding out that the loot is garbage and has nothing worthwhile over more easily obtainable loot.
Other stuff - Removing the variety of perks on guns turns keeping or trashing a weapon into a binary and therefore boring choice. Forcing PvE players into PvP in order to maximize their light increase for the week sucks. You still didn't fix the hunter jumping bug nor the black screen bug from year 1 of the first game. Most (but not all) exotics just don't feel powerful at all. Oh, and the companion app's new look sucks and it never bloody works properly.
And I'm out.

Damn!!!! Hahahaha From what i've read(haven't played yet) i hear these points being brought up quite a lot. Judging from how many upvotes this has it appears as though a LOT of people agree. I've read that playing through story mode is fun but after that the game is just plain awful. If there's a good 10 or 15 hours of fun storyline play then i might actually try D2, otherwise no. Not getting into this shit again. Hope bungie addresses some things that are clearly a problem.

I have to agree with a lot of what is said. At this moment in time there's hardly any incentive to grind, it's just running events constantly because strikes are pointless and long. If they even simply added strike exclusive loot then it immediately adds a reason to play them. Taking away random weapon rolls has killed the hunt for loot. Once you have it then you have it, you can then just upgrade it with rares. Exotics seem easier to get your hands on, but none of them feel special to me, maybe because there's a lot from Destiny 1... I don't like that you're forced to play certain pvp modes but I can live with that, pvp has the odd issue but the more I play it the more I adjust.
1: Strikes - Completely worthless, you get more loot doing public events and public events take at worst a quarter of the time assuming you got unlucky with spawns. The strike loot is underwhelming and not being able to chose a strike sucks. On the other hand, when were people actually picking the strikes in D1 when they had a playlist to do it for them? There might be some, although I'm not sure if there were that many people to keep this feature in the game.
I guess this is a thing happening to a lot of people because I've seen plenty of posts containing this argument. I however have been place in a public event with other people at least 80% of the time. You're probably just not lucky. Even if there are no people in the server you can still do the public event. No one is forcing you to find a match with other people. And you could always just find a friend online to do it with. If you have no friends to do it with, clans are a great place to meet new people. As for people not knowing how to trigger the heroic...there is not much I can really say about that. Is it hard to do a google search?
3. The Nightfall - I'm going to say this slowly and in big letters so you get it. TIMERS. ARE. NOT. FUN.
I'm going to say this slowly and in big letters so you get it. I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. I understand that timers, to most people, on the nightfall are annoying, but it also allows Bungie to put more modifiers in the game so I guess that's one plus. But for the most part it just makes you feel like you don't have a lot of time to do the nightfall. Obviously some people will disagree and that's perfectly fine because you are allowed to have an opinion.
I always though nightfalls were fun. As for the rest of it, agreed.
4. The Leviathan - Boring, tedious and a complete waste of an otherwise beautiful setting.
Depends on who you ask.
What the hell was Bungie thinking?
They were thinking about making a raid.
With the exception of the final boss, these aren't raid encounters, they're glorified puzzle rooms.
Aren't raids supposed to have puzzles? And before you even talk about "this raid is just a bunch stupid puzzles" you really gotta consider what makes a raid "a raid." Raids are designed to bring people together to work as a team. Not to have boss fight after boss fight. I guess you could say the same thing about the puzzles, but come on.....is it that challenging?
and the 30 second revive or wipe timer on normal mode is just another lazy way of artificially creating difficulty.
Agreed. I would have preferred it only be on the prestige mode.
The Baths - Never died to mechanics, always wiped to one dude dying to adds and dragging the rest of the team with him because you either drop your mechanics and die, or don't revive and die.
That's not the raids fault. Your team needs to git gud.
This is not a bug when the people on top of platforms get spotted. You cannot jump directly over the dogs and you can not jump to the platforms immediately when you start it because some of the dogs spawn at prism level.
The Gauntlet - You're literally having us jump through hoops, and someone somewhere at Bungie thought this would be fun? Also nice troll with the 'only 3 people have to make it to the end but if anyone dies the 30 second wipe timer will f*ck you', thing, that was a nice touch.
Are you complaining about something as easy as jumping through hoops? And yes only 3 people have to make it to the end. Do you have a problem with that?
Oh and you know what else I love, not getting loot for any of this shit, not being able to spend my tokens until after completing the raid, having to find the other half of my reward in yet another stealth game, having my keys removed from my account on reset, having to walk through a maze every time I want to get back to the boss I was at, and after all this finding out that the loot is garbage and has nothing worthwhile over more easily obtainable loot.
Not getting loot sucks. I guess that is Bungie's way of adding replay ability to the raid. Of course you are not going to be able to spend tokens until you complete the raid for the first time. It's not like you're gonna be able to skip the raid and hand in your tokens right away. You gotta work for loot. No one is gonna give you anything for free. Were you expecting to skip the raid and get all the rewards? And just so you know, you only have to complete the raid once and then you can spend your coins whenever you want. Having keys removed from your account is a bad decision though. I can think of no reason why taking away your loot is a good thing. The checkpoint thing kinda sucks too, but I can't really complain because all you have to do is open the door again. It only takes about five minutes, but it's one of those little things that make you go ,"why can't we just spawn in the room we left off on?"
Other stuff - Removing the variety of perks on guns turns keeping or trashing a weapon into a binary and therefore boring choice.
No more random perks, again depending on who you ask, is a good or a bad thing. It removes those moments when you get a trash roll on an eyasluna and you're like," the one time I get an eyasluna, it has to be a trash roll." On the other hand, it takes away the moment when you actually do get a god roll on some weapon that you really like.
Forcing PvE players into PvP in order to maximize their light increase for the week sucks.
Whoa whoa there partner. No body ever said ANYTHING about forcing PvE players in to PvP. Using your logic, PvP players are also forced to do PvE. When in reality that is not the case at all. I assume you are talking about call to arms? Nothing is making you to do that. Destiny is one of those games where you can do whatever you want and no one can force you to do anything. That's one of the reasons I like Destiny 2 a lot. I have the power to do PvE or PvP. And i will not tolerate anybody forcing me to play a certain aspect of a game. You could not do the call to arms. Have you ever thought about that?
You still didn't fix the hunter jumping bug nor the black screen bug from year 1 of the first game. Most (but not all) exotics just don't feel powerful at all. Oh, and the companion app's new look sucks and it never bloody works properly.
I have not experienced the Hunter jumping bug or the black screen. Lucky me.
And I'm out.
See ya.
