I'm sure my comments are going to earn the ire of the community, or from bungie or I'll receive comments like "you're just trash. Git gud, haha" or something equally as puerile, but here goes. So, solo queuing wasn't exactly the best of times in the first game. You'd usually come up against a fireteam that would stick to each other like dog's balls and just get massacred. Occasionally though, you'd manage to get someone on their own, engage them in a solo firefight where you didn't get teamshot into oblivion, and nab a point for your team.
Destiny 2 does not have this. The name of the entire game is teamshots. The map is now much tighter, and the teams far smaller. This gives you less opportunities to catch a person off guard or on their own and actually engage in a fair firefight. Because it's now 4v4, you are never able to engage one enemy on their own, and have it be a true test of skill, no now Destiny is all about how much you can hump each other's backsides as you farm noobs, with the matchmaking STILL placing entire fireteams against randoms (because that always goes well.) I'd hoped that the second game would address these issues in the crucible, but it seems they've actually made it far worse. Too bad if you don't have any friends, huh? Just shit out of luck?
PS. I find it funny that the ones who aren't complaining are all the tryhards who spend 90% of their time in fireteams blowing each other as they teamshot "n00bs". I do quite well in crucible, and even I think the state of crucible right is pretty shitty.

6 RepliesHad a great time against a group of 4 yesterday in survival! We lost 3-4 but I had my super 3 times with 30 kills..... Get good.
you can team shot as well just stay with your team.
2 RepliesI get where you're coming from. What you say isn't wrong, but you have to adapt. My first game of pvp solo que I went 33-2. I had loads of 1v1 encounters, I stuck by my teammates, and ran away from disadvantages gun fights. You have to adapt to it. D1 was way worse bcuz it was 6 stacks vs randoms. I wish you the best of luck with pvp, hope you adapt.

1 ReplyI'm usually play with one other guy, sometimes we do well and others not. It will take some getting used to as I jwve never played a game with such a high ttk. I think 4 stacks should always play 4 stacks though. There really isn't much you can do when 4 guys are holding hands all map, it really doesn't take skill to do , the only people defending it like to pub stomb then brag about their inflated ka/d. I thought trials was for sweating? It feels sweaty in both quickplay and comp.
-
I don't mind 4v4, but if they were to implement 6v6 back, they would need to revert ttk values back to D1 levels. God forbid playing teamshoot matchmaking in a 6v6 setting.
-
Dude. Join a clan. There are literally millions, and you get people to play with. Don't solo queue, queue with clan mates. And if you have to solo queue, stick to your team mates. Bungie said they wanted to make a more team based game where we would all want to play with our clans, or join up and play. With clans being so easy and rewarding in D2 you literally have no justification for whining about being alone, unless you are a salty -blam!- who cant play with the other kids.

I play solo all the time and do fine. Now, I'm entirely supportive of having a 6v6 playlist alongside the 4v4. But I'm just pointing out that solo players can still have fun.
-
I wonder though if more people are going to be a little better at trials now that we all have to more small teams skill building.
-
1 ReplyDon't know if you play Paragon, but it's having the same issue. Notoriously bad matchmaking. Destiny 1 had lone wolf que. Why didn't they bring it over to D2?
-
1 ReplyI disagree. I'm not going to say anything like "you're just trash" but you do need to adapt to the new changes. luckily with the smaller maps you are always much closer to fireteam members be it a friend or a random they will at least be there to take a shot for you. I'm not saying you should stick to somebody and hump their leg but being in reasonably close proximity with a team mate helps a lot because you can see where they are shooting or where they are getting shot from small things like that.

I actually like this PvP better. Stay in a group. I haven't played with any of my clan members yet but the few solo games my team did good. The randoms I've played with knew to stay together.
-
I did my Call to Arms Milestone playing solo, and Crucible coulf be a nightmare. Just tried it with three friends yesterday and the difference was staggering. Any uncoordinated teams would be completly crushed. It felt almost unfair in some matches. The level of bias towards playing together versus alone is crazy.

Im a solo player and enjoy this pvp

1 ReplyWould have been better to have 6v6 quick play and 4v4 competitive list. 4v4 control is just odd. Would have required them to make more maps at launch though
-
I agree. The maps are so tight that one guy was actually killing us as soon as we spawned. I get the whole team thing. But when our team scatters, it's already over. I walk around a corner and start shooting one guy. He gets away.. Then comes back with all three of his friends.

Bungie fucked up PvP. Me: I want to play clash, BUNGIE: No, you play supremacy. Me:I am sick of teamshooting, get melted or stay with your team, I want some rumble, BUNGIE: Fuck no, the only mode that would take skill in this game? Maybe if you buy this DLC... Me:where is my fusion? I have a second auto rifle? This was done for PvP, wasn't it?

3 Replies4v4 is terrible. Every game seems to be me with a bunch of randoms getting curb stomped by a clan.. who is this really fun for?
-
Funny how lots of us were saying this prior to release and making pvp this way was an absolute joke. Glad to see others agree
-
I rekt a 4 stack last night. :D
-
5 Repliesworking as a team takes skill. if you solo queue just try sticking with the blueberries and fight team shots with team shots. I have had games where i solo queued and did just fine. The crucible is a different beast now, adapt or die.
-
1 ReplyIf you are on Xbox One, add me: CF Lonewolf Me and my clan will help you on your way. They made the PVP teambased, how its supposed to be. Controlling parts of the map, going for the heavy ammo to get ahead of your team, using your supers on the right time to make a push, holding the enemy off and sticking together till its the right time to flank with your super or heavy. Thats good gameplay in my opinion, how all Esport based shooters should be. Simple example: shoulder bash doesnt 1hit KO, the only things that 1hit kills you are power weapons and supers.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind the 4v4. What isn't fun, is having 2 of your team mates bail in the competitive mode while you're solo queuing. Not fun getting thrashed 2v4 for the entire game.
-
Either stick with your team or learn how to bait and run around the map until you have one person following you
-
I'm still trying to understand why people need resilence in pvp to absorb damage or is that only active in pve?

Edited by Freak: 9/12/2017 12:34:43 PMEquip Auto/Mida+Sidearm/submachine gun, use Blueberries as meat shields....Profit! D2 pvp in a nutshell....
