Powerfull gear dropping lower lightlevel
My "Powerful rewards" aka luminous engrams from milestones are dropping lower then current light on 2nd character. Bungie please fix this. I made a 2nd warlock to level beyond 278 but now these engrams are at 272 and even exotics are dropping lower then the lightlevel I'm at. Pls upvote so bungie sees this and can fix this.

My main Titan is 282, was hearing all about leveling another character of the same class to boost your main with the powerful or "luminous" engrams. Sooo I did just that, did all the bull to unlock the powerful engrams and went to open one up and the power level was 272. I switched all my main Titan gear over and had the 2nd Titan at 282 still opening up at 272..... Do they level with each one you open? 272, open on leave it goes to 274? I don't get the whole using another character to boost your main power level lol

So by disallowing us to get more powerful engrams on alt characters of same class, making us level them up without a single hint of that the powerful engrams would be low level, i tip my hat to you, bungie, the most cryptic trolls of the gaming industry

Same here at 286 and LEGENDARY ENGRAM drops are at 276 would be nice if it dropped a little closer to the lvl i am at ...

Titan stuck at 267 with no drop of any kind over 265. Hunter stuck at 272 no legendary and below drop at 265 exotics drop at 270 but are too infrequent to be helpful. 8 days of hard grinding to increase power and no progress to show on either character. Please fix this!!! I'm a year one player who loves destiny and I don't want to go but the fruitless efforts are not worth the struggle anymore!

5 RepliesYeah, my 2nd and 3rd character is dropping the luminous at 273 (I'm 283) and when i preview them, it says 286+ gear. Either tooltip is wrong, or Bungie needs to fix their shit. I've come to the conclusion they don't care about their player base enough to address this issue anyways. Cheers to wasting my time trying to catch up to the hardcore streamers. GG Bungie

i have ZERO mods that add +5 on my titan (my only character by the way so all this crap about duplicate chars is a load of shit), i removed all the mods and my base level is 284. EVERY SINGLE THING decrypts/drops at 278. everything. vendors, blues, legendary, exotics, quests, public events, EVERYTHING. something is broken because before the maintenance i was scaling just fine and blues were dropping at 283+ along with exotics in the 290's now ive gone backwards in light.

1 ReplySame issue here.. still not fixed... Warlock at 286. Rares and Legendarys dropping at 278. They should drop at 281... Bungie this needs to fixed ASAP!

1 ReplyI have this issue and I don't have a second character. I'm at a dead stop. I wasted a day trying to fix this. I was getting 278 blue engrams yesterday now I am getting 277 only how am I going backwards!? I have not deleted or infused anything without checking it's power.

1 ReplyAt power level 282 all engrams are dropping at 272 for me, including "powerful" luminous engrams, exotics, legendary and rares. I have two characters of the same class which seems to be the issue -- worked fine before the update. I had planned on eventually deleting the D1 transfer character in favor of the new one but now I don't know if the second character is permanently gimped or what. Bungie needs to address this issue one way or the other.

5 RepliesYou are handicapped 1 power level for each character that is the same. At 270, most all your drops will start being 5 under your current power level. So at 275, all drops(minus exotics) are 270. At 280 they are 275. If you have two of the same character the drops at 275 will be 269, at 280 they will be 274. With three characters of the same class at 275 your drops witll be 268. At 280 they will be 273. It may scale down more they higher you get, which would explain people at 300 getting 290 drops. You need to do harder content or farm the public events for exotic drops to gain power. Your exotic drops will always be at or above your current average power level, not the slot it's replacing. So if you're at 280 with 290 legendary arms and you get an exotic arm, it's not going to help you. You're meant to infuse the exotics into legendaries to increase your power. The system works if you progress. If you're not doing more to get better gear, you're not going to get better gear... The powerful gear from milestones may be glitched, but the rest of the drops are correct. As far as I know the powerful gear SHOULD be better than your average drops. The exotics from them are normally MUCH more powerful though. So maybe power gear just means a chance at an exotic, which I don't think you get from normal rep token engrams.

After doing some math and looking at all my drops it would appear that the “powerful gear”/luminous engrams are dropping like two normal legendary gear engrams. If it stays like this I don’t really see the point of Milestones then because you get the same stuff from the easier faction trade in. So far the only way I have been getting anything higher then my normal gear is engrams obtained in nightfall or the raid. After 2 full days of grinding I moved from 268 to 273. My legendary gear comes in at 267 (without mods).

2 RepliesSame here...Only higher light items were from Mida Quest and Sturm quest. Been playing this alt for the last 3 days and it was a waste of time. 286 light - everything is decrypting at 276...even luminous engrams and exotics

2 RepliesMy Past 6 exotic engrams were duplicates and my past 3 powerful engrams were 275 and i am 285 i am spending to much time on this help forum. I didnt get clan rewards got removed from founder status please do something this is really frustrating

I cant remember if it started after transferring my gear to my 2nd account but I know I became aware of it when playing my 2nd hunter. So some things to think about 1) Transferring gear: does not change drop rate 2) infusion: does it still see that gear as week still and that stronger gear was just scrapped 3) Does it look at all gear across all characters and vault or just what’s on that character. 4)Is holding on to weaker stuff damaging some sort of average value All I know is I was getting gear that was a little higher then me for some time and now its as if it got caped below me out of no where. Rant This is a big game change if they mean to keep it this way. It be great if they tell us how the math works. I stoped playing destiny 1 because being left in the dark when it came to game mechanics, I hope they keep us better informed this time around.

I'm having the same problem but with my main character. I'm at 275. All vendors dropping at 269. Sucks ass.

i got the following all with mods 285 really 280 289 really 284 286 really 281 282 really 278 285 really 280 286 really 281 287 really 282 285 really 280 i should be getting drops higher then 276 but i am not even lumanus engrams are decritping at 276 its BS

Same thing is happening to me. I'm 295 and ALL my luminous engrams are dropping 285. It's effecting my exotics as well. This has been happening before I hit 295.

3 RepliesI figured it out. Its the mods, its the new grind. All the 290s are really just a 285 with mods and the computer doesnt read them. So lets say you have a 290 boots that have a mod. Than u get a boot from the nightfall thats 291, well that 291 is a 296 when u put a new mod on it.

7 RepliesTHINK I FOUND A FIX Ok so I deleted the alternate character and then made a different class character in that empty character slot. Played the first mission and then logged out. Did a cache clear on my console ( xbox 1) And then loaded back up my original character and haven't had a problem yet, just pushing 287 power now :)

Theory: You can't transfer gear from Character 1 to character 2 for it to affect the luminous engrams. The light level taken into account is only from gear looted by your 2nd character.
