Gone are the days of shotgun crutches and around the clock panic slams. I for one am enjoying the new crucible. The stronger focus on gunfights and less ability spam make it so you actually have to put some thought into using them. The longer TKK is also welcome.
Now, we are only missing private matches and big team battle. Destiny for me, is actually fun again.

i wasn't a fan of pvp in destiny 1 that much (mainly due to limited game modes.. no custom games at launch... felt too constricted compared to what I had from halo and with how many options they gave for halo reach it always seemed out of place) but I at least had my crazy highest mobility possible falcon punching around corners shenanigans to keep me interested.... It was a unique playstyle that I only got from destiny... now... its team shoot with your friends.. stay grouped up... it feels out of place and feels more like old school counter strike, but with radar.......... take out the radar and maybe it will be bearable to me again, but right now to even use my increased melee damage attack I have to be sprinting and even when it connects i need to melee two more times to even kill them...

D1 crucible was some of the best pvp I have ever played. D2 crucible feels so watered down. It's disappointing.
-
1 ReplyHonestly I hate pvp just because they brought back the MIDA.
-
Crucible has been loss after loss for me. My team always flies off to who knows where and gets wiped over and over by real fireteams that are sometimes clans. Single player crucible is weak, and hunter isnt even viable because all of the gear is based on speed, whereas titans and warlocks get +recovery and +resilience.

13 RepliesAt least someone likes it to me it lost the "destiny feel" I don't know how to describe but Idk but if I had to say something it's slow
-
I love how crucible feels now but to be honest PVP on console feels so bad compared to PC. I feel Bungie just wants to sell copies on console , and wants to deliver a masterpiece on PC , still just my opinion but playing both betas + plus the full game on console made me realize this .

1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 9/8/2017 10:22:49 PMI'm not a fan of the 4v4's. It's just an awkward teamshot fiesta because your cooldowns, abilities, and guns have been subjected to a blanket nerf. Stops being interesting after a while, imo.

55 RepliesEdited by blade329: 9/7/2017 2:52:34 PMLOL. It's crap. I didn't buy a space magic rpg/fps to focus on weak gunplay. Any half baked FPS can give me that already. It's far less fun to me. Really, how much thought and strategy does it take to team shoot people? I was doing that last night. Boring.

Never realized shotguns, in any game, weren't meant to be strong. Never realized that playing a game whose central focus is space magic that bends and breaks reality might actually feature said space magic heavily. Though I never did realize abilities and supers have no recharge time. Amazing how Destiny played like Destiny as opposed to Battlfield or Halo. Why doesn't someone just make "Generic Shooter 5" and corner the market?

In the traveler we trust, amen.

Crucible is night and day better in D2. I love it.
-
I agree, I am really enjoying it. Only thing for me is the 4v4; I like the 6v6 more and leave the "competitive" to the trials players!
-
5 RepliesMy only problem is that I keep matching with absolute noobs who can't comprehend team play. It really pisses me off. I thought I would be categorised with players in my skill level

4 RepliesEdited by zerax333: 9/9/2017 11:22:27 AMLol everyone says there are weak guns now. I walk a second into a 1v2 and I'm dead within that second. It's actually hard af to run solo now in pvp. I feel like I have to play slow as ever, or follow someone around like an extra shadow. It's a little exhausting...cause that isn't how I play. I think I just need more time getting use to how the pvp works here in d2...I just don't want to feel like in order to succeed I have to be in a fireteam all the time. I don't like getting more points then I should though for kill assists. Like I want to see the kills I earned. Not some overbloated score. I just have mixed feelings about it right now. Once I get the hang of it I'm sure I will enjoy it more. Edit: nope. I can't stand it. I realized the problem. Guns are too weak that when you get attacked by more than one person you almost always ultimately lose, because you can't kill a target in your wast fast enough and get away. But if you get team shotted, oh your dead instantly. This is absolutely upsetting for me, because I play solo most of the time. Now I can't even enjoy the part I wanted to spend the most time in.

3 RepliesCrucible is boring too similar to other FPS games now. It's super easy as well I've gone 3+ games with 30+ kills and 5.0+ Kd.
-
5 RepliesNo, it's dumbed down beyond belief. Do you REALLY think as much whining as the community did about "balance" all of D1, that they would WIDEN the skill gap on a title meant to be accessible to children? You people are pretty clueless sometimes. It's only bad players that think it "takes more skill" now because they're not getting wrecked as hard because actual good players can't stand out as much.
-
yeah thanks all you PVP crybabies, most weapons are weaksauce now in PVE. Only have come across one or two actual good weapons.
-
1 ReplyIts horrible. Every match was so damn sweaty even in quick play. Small team tactics and its now so plodding. Matches take forever, unless you rando teammates drop out. PvP will be avoided like the plague. Utlra competitive players can enjoy that shit show.
-
3 RepliesIt's complete crap, worst pvp I've played in a long time. Extremely slow paced, boring, no feeling of accomplishment upon getting kills, 1 super per match, players camping ammo, laggy. I win most games and smash the enemy team (usually) but it requires ZERO skill, just camp and team shoot then you win.
-
Amen on so many levels. Absolutely love the crucible and 4v4 is great. My only issue - please give us kill counts and summary. I hate oppenents defeated. Feel so cheap when I hit a guy with my auto rifle when someone else gets the kill and says I defeated them.
-
I was a bit apprehensive about the 4v4 cos I'm an average, solo pvp player. I thought it'd have to find a fire team to play effectively but after a few games I'm really enjoying it. A few more modes yes and a big battle option would indeed be awesome, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Glad to have been wrong.

The stronger focus on gunfights and less ability spam make it so you actually have to put some thought into using them.
"The stronger focus on teamshotting and cowering in my 4 man pain train makes it so I don't have to worry about dying to aggressive solo play because they nerfed it." Fixed that for you
-
I want whatever game you got. Mine is broken or something, the pvp in it is just kind of a joke
-
6 RepliesI'm shocked at how bad it is. Weapons feel ok, but teams just sit together. Little to no individual play and the maps are wayyyyy to big for 4v4
-
2 RepliesYes. If you are older than 80 or retarded then Destiny 2 is THE pvp game for you
-
1 ReplyI hate the fact that assists count as kills. It works in overwatch cause some characters have extremely low dps but for destiny it's just meant so everyone feels like they're good, and it's quite stupid
