"Nearly 50% of the community have never completed a raid"

I looked at my achievements, and apparently, less than 20% of people have completed a raid. Guided games is a good thing, because now everyone can experience true fun in Destiny 2. How much of the community has completed a raid on PSN? Edit: Trending boiz and grils!

  • "That many people havent completed a raid" There could be so many good players but are just shy. I can imagine a ton of people who could be doing the jumping portions on their first try unlike the liars who lie their way into a team and spend the next hour dying at a simple platforming event they claim to know. I recieved many concussions bashing my head against the wall in the vault and kings fall.

  • I'm fairly certain that number is incorrect, if you look at other achievements (ones that everyone has like the "get first exotic" achievement) they show a similarly low number.

  • With the amount of toxicity and requirements I don't blame them? If it wasn't for my friends and some I met through lfg that were dope ppl,I wouldn't have either lol. Most of those ppl have either moved on from D1 or quit. Not saying entire community is bad, just the bad 1s out shine the good. Most of the ppl I meet and even friends who I asked year or 2 ago why they haven't ran raid, their answer lack of MM at least it would give an idea to them how it plays they can experience it, I mean come on we all watched videos, read faqs, but even after all that when you go to a raid specially with lfg, it usually ends in few wipes, maybe more but able to finish, but those few wipes plus depending on who is on your team, they end up leaving so you have to find another person through apps or your pc it was just plain annoying. I hope I explained well, and didn't leave anything out lol, too exhausted just got out of my graveyard shift and I'm about to zzzzz lol

Y1 was the best time to run raids IMO because the rewards were worth the time spent. So naturally more gamers were willing to put their effort in in forming groups. You had the freedom to an extent to play how you wanted to play and use what you wanted to use. Y2 a lot of gamers lost interest after running KF because here it was running a long raid with really no incentive at all. A raid that forced you to use only snipers when it first released. Leaving gamers feeling they were being contolled that It became a raid just for light level. That's because Bungie deliberately set everything low that it took 7 months later to get that 320 update. Y3 don't know, never bought ROI. Gamers that I ran with running the raids did it for a few reasons and Vog is a prime example on why... 1- The #1 reason is incentive. Making the time spent running them worth the gamers time. 2- Creating a raid that has a sence of exploration. Or giving the gamer the freedom to just roam around. Vog is the Only raid that has that feeling. Even CE to an extent. 3- Giving the freedom to use whatever the gamers wants to use. 4- Being unique, things that separate one from the other. KF had way too many things that were used from Vog and CE that it didn't leave much room to feel all that different. These things IMO gave gamers motivation to want to run raids. After y1 a lot of that was removed, or replaced with other ways to reach max light. Hell, why run a raid when I have easier ways to reach max light knowing a lot of the fun running raids was removed? When the incentive is removed from anything, you will see a hell of a lot of gamers lose their motivation to even want to bother with something that can take Hours just to complete. Not only that, since a lot of gamers today compare to your 1 want things to be easy. You will see less gamers that are willing to run raids. Guided games may help those who want to run raids, but without what I stated above about the raids being fun it's not going to change much. IMO this is where this company really needs start looking into things...

It's really died down, but the elitist assholes that were around really turned me off from even wanting to complete the game and attempt a raid let alone look for a group. Everyone looking for higher then average gear or an emblem, AN EMBLEM for god sakes. I can understand wanting experienced raiders to get the job done. I don't blame them at all, but that just seems ridiculous to me imo. There was no matchmaking either, another flaw that even I didn't want to bother completing this game, I do not understand why they will not implement it. I'm glad this game was borrowed it isn't even worth the 5$ in the bin. Edit: thanks Bungie, for reminding me I am a friendless loser.

      • And those 80% that played Destiny are the ones whose opinions we don't hear on the forums, which is why when everybody screams about how great or bad something is, you should take it with a grain of salt. The sales, and achievements that the players unlock, will be a far more accurate representation of the success or failure of Destiny 2. I predict that Destiny 2 will never be as successful as Destiny was, but take that with a grain of salt, because you heard it here.

      • I did VoG in year one and it's the only one I've ever done. I honestly don't remember it. I quit playing a few weeks after the taken king came out and just recently came back. Wish I had done more raids. I only have the little ear bud mic that came with PS4 so I kind of stayed away n played solo/matchmaking activities.

        • The numbers are a little skewed because they count everyone who ever played Destiny for like 2 minutes on their roommates disc haha. I'd be curious to see the completion stats for ACTIVE players tbh

        • sadly the since of challenge wasnt good enough for me to even bother with the raids. I want a guaranteed drop for a raid. It rather defeating when doing a raid and everyone else gets something useful while all you get is motes of light. not just once , but multiple times. rng was one of the main reason I stop bothering with raids. Also other peoples requirements were rather stupid, specially when they hadn't done it all that much in the first place.

        • 1.7% have the Guardian Lord platinum trophy on PSN. 26.6% have managed to equip one character with legendary and exotic gear. 59.6% have attained a 777 or higher grimoire score. Less than 40% have killed 100 of each class in Crucible. 2.2% for Flawless Raider! 28.1% Attain Vanguard rank 3. Between 17.8 - 18.2% for fully upgrading a Subclass. 5.8% for King's Fall Heroic. 3.0% for Wrath of the Machine Heroic. There are so many more abysmal achievement rates for plenty of others too.

          • Bungie's 50% comment was of the players who made it to max light. There's a ton of players who never made it even that far.

          • Yes but that includes the casual bitches who played Destiny for two weeks then thought they were done because they beat the story mode and played a few multiplayer matches. The same kids you'll ask if they played the raid and they'll ask "oh yeah mean that sepiks giant eyeball guy?" I have asked a few people this and had them respond like that. Almost everyone I knew who tried the game for a month and then quit. They did zero research on the game and that's why they didn't know what to do.

I wonder if it's the same people who complained the turbines were to hard? And you wonder why? F.Y.I. More than 1/2 of the everyone who whose ever logged into destiny have stopped playing. 10 million logged into into vanilla, less than 5 million play now. So in all fairness almost ALL of those number relate to the people who haven't completed the raid, obviously. If the stat were less than 1/2 the current player base that logs in hasn't played or finished a raid then it has a little more merit. But to say 1/2 of everybody that has logged into destiny hasn't completed a raid, well no shit, 1/2 the player base has left a long time ago.

          • There's a simple answer! A great majority of the community are casual players, playing when time allows them which is probably on average is between 1-2 h/day...
