How many dimensions can chess be played in?

1 ReplySix: X axis Y axis Z axis Past tense Present tense Future tense So a pawn can move one tile forward (two on the first move), or one tile up, or one tile into the future. They can't move backwards though. Queens and kings can move into the past, dealing with troublesome moves by the opponent in the present or future versions of the match.
