So, I am continually frustrated by the following occurrence...you throw a Lighting Grenade against a flat wall yet somehow, the resulting angle does not represent actual physics. So, to be clear, a Titan's Lighting Grenade flat edge; walls have flat edges. Therefore, you would think, that these to dynamics would come together to form a perpendicular, 90 degree angle. And you'd be wrong.
I cannot tell you how many times I have died in the Crucible from this simple, physics oriented issue. For example, someone is running at you and you throw a grenade against a wall to inflict some damage while you finish them off, however much to your dismay, the resulting angle from two 90 degree angles is a 20 degree angle towards the floor. You don't get that additional damage, they rush and shotgun you and you're -blam!-ed.
Playing in the Crucible is hard enough but having to fight the game as well is just plain stupid.
Bungie; please explain to me why this happens? Or, do physics not apply in your Universe? This could be the case given that Hand Cannons have better range than Scout Rifles, but I digress. I guess the best way to win is just be a mindless, skill-less automaton that uses Palindrome (violates real world ballistics) and Ice Breaker (circumventing Crucible changes regarding ammo).
I am sure that internal stats reveal that there is no balance whatsoever and that the Crucible META is incredibly skewed. Funny as it would have been so easy to fix. All you needed to do was disable Ice Breaker's and Invective's 'Ammo over Time' perk when in use in the Crucible and use Physics and Ballistics to address Eyasluna and Palindrome. Sadly, this was never the case and I am sure that a great segment of the Destiny Community simply choose not to engage in Crucible activities because of this.
Simply put, it's bullshit.

Why isn't there weird gravity on the moon 😒
-
Don't forget skips that just stop cause they hit something flat, or sticks that suddenly take a 90° turn and stick to a player that's 10 feet that direction.
-
A ship traveling at a constant speed in space. Guardian jumps and slows down for some reason. If they can't get fundamental laws of physics correct, then you shouldn't get your hopes up about objects sticking at sensible angles.
-
Well, now I know why the tab for #feedback is red...
-
1 ReplyYou mean all the planets and moons having the same gravity despite their mass?
-
And let's not even get onto spike grenades.... those things do some stupid s$@&.
-
5 RepliesIt sticks in the angle it makes contact. If it's hits at a 20 degree angle that's how it should stick. I've thrown plenty of gernades at 90 degrees and plenty at 20.

1 ReplyYou didn't mention the absurdly arduous journey to collect the SIVA cluster of Felwinter Peak. I can't recall how many times I jumped forwards but bounced backwards at twice the speed and three times the angle, all on fairly level surfaces.

Edited by TheArtist: 6/29/2017 11:53:43 PMThe Traveller took the laws of physics and wiped its backside with them. But that's not why your having problems in pvp.
-
I am only disagreeing, because it's bungievision, not the traveler.
-
Bump Agreed Truth I love when you are in the crucible, & you're trying to escape gunfire, and your guardian is not capable of hurtling over a 2-inch step Or when you throw the perfect nade to Ricochet off of a surface that has some little crack in it that makes the grenade bounce back at you

4 RepliesIt certainly messed with ballistics... Typical heavy scout rifle: equivalent to 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Winchester). Delivers 168-grain bullet at 2650 fps for 2700 foot pounds of energy. Typical sidearm: equivalent to 9x19mm NATO (9mm Luger). Delivers 124-grain bullet at 1150 fps for 364 fpe. In other words, a scout rifle bullet should do about seven times the damage of a sidearm bullet. And yet, both do 49 damage with a body shot.

Um yeh you can walk on Mars so

The hit boxes on walls are not tight to the model of the object.

Edited by Kone19ps: 6/29/2017 4:05:25 PMYes and bungie doesn't care about consistency of their lore much for that matter so they just adapt it to whatever game mechanics they have regardless of what would make sense.

3 RepliesYou mean like terraforming a highly toxic and volatile weather planet like Venus into a hospitable planet suitable for human life?
-
Yea Bungie's engine sucks👎🏻
-
1 ReplyDon't forget how we can go on Venus even though in real life we would die pretty quickly

You should have said "throw the lightning grenade on a 90° wall just to have it face back at you causing half damage and one shot kill by opposing Guardian!". See now that's some bologna.
(V) (;,,;) (V) wubwubwubwubwub!
